My 5 Year Gamespot Anniversary

Hello all once again, I'm back. Yeah, I kind of went missing as far as updates were concerned at the end of July.

In my defense, I was pretty busy from the end of July to late August. I went on vacation for a week and I had to do a bunch of orientation stuff for college.

Back to the topic at hand, as of two days ago (yeah, I'm a bit late), I joined this website 5 years ago. That's kind of a long time.

I should have had something planned for this, but I really don't. Sorry. :P

What I DO have planned is that I'm starting my top games of all time list on Tuesday, October 1st. It will be, of course, split into multiple parts. To be fair, it's kind of a gigantic list.

I would start next weekend, but that kind of coincides with the Breaking Bad finale, and I don't have class on Tuesdays.

Yeah, I kind of got into Breaking Bad a while ago. It's pretty freaking amazing.

Anyway that list is going to be my big thing that I'm doing for my 5 years on the site. So you have that to look forward to.

As far as games I've been playing recently, I've been playing quite a bit of TF2. If you wanted to add me on Steam and play some games or something, my username is GoldenBanjo (just letting you know because I changed it a little while ago).

Aside from that, I also bought a new copy of Persona 4 after losing my old copy a few years ago, so I've been playing that as well.

I don't really have much else to say, honestly. If you don't see the first part of my list by October 1st (which may or may not happen), I assure you it wasn't because I forgot, it was because I might still be changing some minor things about the list. That shouldn't happen, but if it does, that's why.

Anyway, that's all I have to say for now. Thank you all so very much for reading, and I hope you're having a fantastic day.

What I've been up to lately, Upcoming top 10s, etc.

Hello all, I'm back with another update blog about things that I've been doing recently. I figured I may as well tell you, since it's been since around May since I last blogged.

Anyway, the big thing that's happened in the last two months is that I got a new laptop. One that can actually play games pretty well, no less.

On that note, I've been playing quite a bit of Team Fortress 2, among other things.

I had somewhere around $50 in reserve for when the Steam Summer Sale rolled around, and I bought quite a bit of games:

Castle Crashers
Dust: An Elysian Tail
Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon
Garry's Mod + Counter Strike Source
Hotline Miami
Just Cause 2
Left 4 Dead 2
Saints Row: The Third
Sonic 2 and Sonic 3 & Knuckles (They were only $1.24 each, so I thought "why not?")
Super Hexagon
VVVVVV
and The Walking Dead.

If you were interested in playing TF2 or L4D2 with me sometime, my Steam ID is Goldeneyesonic.

PC games aside, I've also been playing a ton of Animal Crossing New Leaf. I've already put somewhere around 30 hours into it. If you wanted to play that with me , my 3DS friend code is 1504-5841-6967.

Aside from that, I've also been playing some of The Last of Us, as well as Project X Zone. The former I haven't played far in enough in to give a general opinion, and the latter I just don't particularly care for. It's not bad by any strech, but it's not especially good, either. To be fair, I havent beaten PXZ either, so my opinion on the game might change by the time I finish it, but as it stands, meh.

I suppose I should tell you what's in the works for my next top whatever. Well, I haven't really decided yet. I have a few that I could release whenever I wanted, but I just don't know which to put out first. Expect something within the next week or so.

I suppose I should tell you all why I've been busy as of late. I've been spending the last couple of months trying to get a job/getting stuff ready for when I go to college. As of right now, I've almost got everything ready for college, but I'm having a hard time finding a job. Eh, I'm sure it'll happen eventually.

Anyway, that's really all I have to say for now. I just felt like telling you all what's been going on with me lately.

Thank you all so very much for reading, and I hope you're having a fantastic day.

My Birthday!

...was two weeks ago.

Hello all, I'm back once again from another unnecessarily long hiatus, and this time, with updates!

By the way, sorry for the wait, but I've actually been pretty busy with school, as this is my last year of high school before I graduate. Stuff needs to get done, and I have to do it, y'know. (Also, I've been pretty lazy about blogging as well).

Back to the main topic at hand, my 18th birthday was two weeks ago, on April 25. Yep, now I can officially go to prison. :P

For my birthday I got Bioshock Infinite, Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon, and Pandora's Tower.

I've actually completed Bioshock Infinite between the time I got it and now, and it was pretty damn great. I love the aesthetics, the story, and the characters; honestly, the worst part about the game is the gameplay itself, and while it plays perfectly fine, it's just not very unique (especially if you've played the first two Bioshocks). With that said, however, I still think the game is worth trying out.

I have played a bit of Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon and Pandora's Tower, but not really enough to form a decent opinion on either of them. From what I've played though, their both pretty fun so far.

Aside from that, I've also been playing Far Cry 3, as it was recommended by a friend. So far, I'm having a lot of fun with it.

I'd also like to say that I am still working on my top whatever games of all time list, actually. It's taking quite a bit longer than anticipated. I'm probably going to release 1 or 2 more top 10s before I release that list.

Alright, that's all I really had to say. Thank you all so very much for reading, and I hope you're having a fantastic day.

My Top 10 Games of all time

Alright, it's about time I got to working on this list, and I thought it was taking too long to get every other part of the list done, so let's skip to the top 10, shall we?

#10: Aquaman: Battle For Atlantis

Aquaman: Battle for Atlantis Boxshot

Oh hey it's that game that looks oddly similar to Superman 64 in several ways. Aquaman: Battle for Atlantis was released in a year that I don't know and have never been to. What? Tenouttaten.

#Nein: Charlie's Angels

Charlie's Angels Boxshot

So I don't know what I can say about this game 'cause everyone knows about this game and yeah. It's a 3D beat-em-up game where you beat up people on the beach and butlers. Also, once you get to the 3rd level, the loops itself back to the beginning of the level, so your stuck forever. Yaaaaaaayyyyy.

#Ate: Shrek 2

You know what I like? Games that aren't finished. This is a game that isn't finished. Clip through anything! Win every race without even moving! Watch as your truck reaches ludicrously high speeds just by moving in reverse! Collision detection? Pfff, what the f*ck is that sh*t? Where we're going, we don't need collision detection! Trucks! F*ck yeah! YOU'RE WINNER!

#Tree Fiddy: Superman 46

And now it's time for Proton Jon's favorite game ever, Superman 64. I don't think I need to sing this game's praises, becuase everyone already knows how amazing it is.

Because it's so good that it had to be here twice, right? Right? Right?! RIGHT?!

Yeah. Right. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F8IXQoXzgJE

Anyway, I'm done with my list finally. You can all stop bugging me about it now.

Thank you all so very much for reading, and I sincerely hope you know what day it is.

Coming Soon: My favorite games of all time list

Well, I'm back again. I never really left, actually, I'm just kind of lazy about posting blogs sometimes. Usually when I have nothing to say. :P

But today, I am announcing that I will be revisiting my favorite games of all time list from three years ago (don't go back and read it, it's terrible and poorly made).

This is going to be a really big list, by the way. I have yet to decide how many games will be on it, but it will probably be somewhere between 50 and 75. Another thing I have yet to decide is whether or not I should include more than one game per series on this list. If I'm making a list with only one game per series, than it probably won't be any longer than about 75, but if I don't, it will probably be 100 or more. So, what do you all think I should do? Lemme know in the comments.

Either way, it'll probably be about a week before I get the first part of the list posted.

On a completely unrelated note, I've been playing a lot of Fire Emblem: Awakening recently. It's really amazing. Seriously, get this game if you haven't.

A little while ago, I actually found the collector's edition of The Last Story at a local game store for only $30. From what I've played, it's really good.

Sorry I don't have much to say, this was mostly just a post for the purpose of announcing my upcoming list. I swear I'll have more to say next time. :P Again, let me know in the comments which way you want me to make the list.

Anyway, thank you all so much for reading, and I hope you're having a fantastic day.

My Top 10 Games of 2012: Part 2 [#4-#1]

Alright, now it's time for the final part, the top four.

Same rules still apply here as they did in the first part.

So, let's get right to it then, shall we?

#4: Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward

Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward Boxshot

At number 4, we have Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward. For those who don't know, Virtue's Last Reward is a visual novel styled game and the sequel to the DS game 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors. And oh my god, this game is amazing. Don't worry, I'm not going to spoil anything for those who haven't played it. There are two different sections to this game: the novel sections, where you simply sit back and watch the story; and the 'Escape the Room' sections, where you need to use everything found in the room to find a way out. The Escape segments are really interesting and fun puzzle challenges. Sure, there might not be any gameplay involved in the novel sections (it's called a visual novel for a reason), but the story is one of the best I've ever seen in a video game. Not only that, but the characters in this game are really interesting and incredibly memorable. There is one major problem with this game, and it's not even with anything to do with the gameplay or story. There are two specific rooms that could corrupt your save file causing you to lose all of your saved data if you happen to save in said room (this is only during the Escape the Room segments of those rooms, however). This can be avoided simply by only saving during the novel sections (which is about 70% of the game, anyway). Aside from that one nasty glitch, this game is absolutely fantastic, and I highly recommend it to anyone with a 3DS or a Vita.

#3: Journey

journey-game-screenshot-1-b.jpg

Y'know, I was pondering for the longest time what my game of the year for 2012 was. It was between this, and the two games at #1 and #2. It was really tough to choose, but I ultimately made my decision. At number 3, we have Journey (not to be confused with the band of the same name). I'm sure everyone that's played this game knows why I put it on my list. I bought this game not knowing what to expect. I had seen no previous gameplay footage and knew nothing about it (aside from seeing a few screenshots). All I knew is that everyone wouldn't stop talking about it. I picked it up and beat it in one sitting. I was absolutely blown away. For those who haven't played it, this is a game where you control the robed person (shown in the picture above) and make your way to the top of the giant mountain (also shown above). That's it. I'm not quite sure why, but something about this game is just amazing. It's really hard to put into words as to why I love it so much. It's really something that has to be played to understand why that is. With that said, do yourself a favor, and buy this game (assuming you have a PS3).

Now, I may have decided that Journey is my #3. However, it took me FOREVER do decide what my #1 was going to be. It was incredibly difficult to choose. I may have made my decision, but these two games are so incredibly close together that it may as well be a tie. But I wasn't going to end my list like that. I suppose I'll just move on and tell you what they are...

#2: Pokemon Black 2/White 2

Pokemon Black Version 2 Boxshot

Pokemon White Version 2 Boxshot

Okay... now that I've gotten that out of the way... at #2, we have Pokemon Black 2/White 2. I absolutely love Black/White. In fact, it was my #1 game of 2011. But I honestly think that this game is even better. B2/W2 is set 2 years after the events of B/W. Some characters have moved on to do other things in the world. For example, Cheren has become a gym leader, and Bianca has become the assistant to the professor. The protagonist of the last game is nowhere to be seen, however. Maybe they went to go stand on a mountain somewhere. Moving on, I love the characters in this game. I think that Cheren and Bianca fit there roles better in this game than they do in the previous game. Hugh is actually one of my favorite rivals in the whole series (right behind Silver). I also really love the designs of the gyms in this game. Not exactly a significant part of the game, but I think they're really creative and fun. I think the thing I like most about this game is the sheer amount of Pokemon that you can catch during the main storyline (thanks to the regional dex being expanded to 300+ Pokemon). I've played through this game twice now, and my team was completely different both times I played, just because of the vast amount of Pokemon to catch. In that regard, I think this game has a lot of replay value. One of the biggest problems I had with the first game, the small and linear region, is now fixed thanks to the addition of more cities and dungeons. I could go on, but I'm not going to keep you any longer. I absolutely love this game, and it's actually a contender for being my favorite Pokemon game of all time. Yep, even more than Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald. I havne't quite decided which I like more, but it's pretty damn close.

Alright, here we are, at my #1. I'll stop stalling and get right to it. My favorite game of 2012 is...

#1: Xenoblade Chronicles

Xenoblade Chronicles Boxshot

Yeah, I'm sure some of you saw this coming, but hey, this is a fantastic game. Include this game on my list for this year because I live in North America, and we didn't get this game until about a year later than the UK and Australia. But my god, it was worth the wait. For those who don't know, Xenoblade Chronicles is a Wii-Exclusive JRPG developed by Monolith Soft, the team that made the Xenosaga and Xenogears games (none of which I've played). This is probably one of, if not the greatest JRPG of this console generation. The gameplay is fantastic. Everything flows really well, and I absolutely love the battle system. Throughout a battle, as long as you are locked on to an enemy, your character will automatically attack the enemy (although auto-attacks don't do much damage). In order to deal some serious damage on an enemy, you select a special attack (called 'Arts' in this game). After which, you wait a certain amount of time for that particular Art to recharge. It all works very well, but I do a s**tty job at explaining it. :P If I were to recommend one thing, use a classic controller for this game. It's much easier to control the camera with a second analog stick rather than with the Wii Remote's d-pad. Moving on to the graphics. This game is absolutely BEAUTIFUL. I'm not even kidding, from an artistic standpoint, this is one of the prettiest games ever made, right up there with Okami. The landmarks are incredibly memorable and always pretty to look at. The story in this game is amazing. Not quite as good as Virtue's Last Reward, but still very interesting. I also really like the characters, with a lot of development for each one throughout the story. Lastly, the music. My god, the music. This game has one of my favorite soundtracks of all time. Everything ranging from beautifully composed orchestral music to fast-paced hard rock. Also, this game is long. About the length of a Persona game. So, about 60-70 hours. It may be incredibly long, but like Persona, the game is good enough to keep me interested for that long amount of time. Not only is Xenoblade Chronicles one of my favorite Wii games, it's also one of my favorite JRPGs of all time. I could go on and on about how I love this and Pokemon Black 2/White 2 so much, but I think I'll stop before I make this any longer than it needs to be.

Before I end this off, I'd like to name off some honorable mentions for this list.

Borderlands 2 (Really great humor and gameplay. It was really close for #10 between this and Dishonored. Consider it my #11.)

Paper Mario Sticker Star (Good game, but definitely my least favorite Paper Mario game. The gameplay is good, but it lacks the creative worlds, characters, and dialogue that TTYD and SPM had.)

Mass Effect 3 (The thing that kept me from putting this on my list was that I didn't play enough of it to give a full opinion on it. But from what I played, I really enjoyed.)

Also, some games that came out in previous years that I played for the first time this year (that I really enjoyed).

Rayman Origins

Batman: Arkham City

Bayonetta

Fallout 3

Fallout: New Vegas

Anyway, that's it for my top 10 games of 2012. Thanks for reading, and I hope you all enjoyed.

For the record, I havne't played The Last Story (which is why it's not on my list), but I intend of playing it soon.

I'm not saying it would be in my top 10 (again, I haven't played it), but I'm just putting that out there in case I end up loving it once I do play it.

Anyway, thank you all so very much for reading, and I hope you're having a fantastic day.

My Top 10 Games of 2012 [Part 1: #10-#5]

Ah, 2012. Not that great of a year, in more ways than one.

In terms of games released, I thought 2012 wasn't that good, especially when compared to 2010 and 2011.

However, I did manage to finally construct my top 10 games of the year, after some difficult decision making.

I do have some rules for this list: Only games I have played, and only games that have come out in 2012. Despite the fact that I played games like Fallout 3, Bayonetta, and Batman: Arkham City for the first time this year, they won't be included on this list because they were all released in previous years.

With that said, let's get started.

#10: Dishonored

Dishonored Boxshot

Starting off the list with a game that I liked a lot more than I thought I would, we have Dishonored. I think the thing I like most about this game is the fact that you can choose which way you want to play the game. The game encourages stealth, but if you want to use the numerous amounts of unique ways to kill enemies, go right ahead. However, the game isn't perfect by any means. I really do like the Steampunk Victorian London styled city, but the environments tend to blend together, and the locations in this game aren't very memorable, with a few exceptions. Not only that, but I feel like some of the levels can drag for longer than they really need to. Either way, I still think this is a game worth checking out, especially if you're a fan of stealth-based games.

#9: Skullgirls

250px-Skullgirls_cover.png

I seemed to have gained more of a taste for fighting games this past year, seeing as how I seem to be enjoying them more. At #9, we have the game that took years to come out, Skullgirls. Honestly, I think that one of the best aspects of this game is the unique characters. I mean, we have a girl with demonic hair, a circus star with a hat with giant arms, a 40s cartoon character, and a cat lady with detachable limbs. Gameplay wise, it's sort of a mix between Street Fighter (the button and attack layout) and Marvel vs. Capcom (the partner system). However, unlike Marvel vs. Capcom, choosing a partner is not required, which can make for some interesting matches. To elaborate, you can choose to play with either 1, 2, or 3 characters at a time. The less characters you play as, the stronger each individual character is, for the sake of balance. I think my biggest problem is that the story mode could have been a bit more fleshed out than it was. Each character has their own story, but each story is only about 25-30 minutes long. It's also a shame that the dialogue in story mode wasn't voiced, because there are some great voice actors in this game, such as Erin Fitzgerald, Kimlinh Tran (from TeamFourStar), and Kira Buckland (aka Rina-chan). Despite the story-related issues, this game is awesome, and is definitely worth the 15 bucks to buy it.

#8: Sonic & All-Star Racing Transformed

Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed Boxshot

At #8, we have Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed. Oh my god, this game is really friggin fun. I mean, I knew this game was going to be good (because I loved the first game), but I ended up liking this one a lot more than the first. It's not very often I have this much fun with a racing game. First of all, I love the level design. Every track in this game is completely unique (unlike the first game, where they re-used level themes over and over again). And while some of the tracks might be a bit long (the Golden Axe and NiGHTS tracks in particular), the tracks actually change every lap to keep things fresh and interesting. The character selection in this game is also really good, getting rid of characters like Big the Cat. And while I'm a bit disappointed that characters like Ryo Hazuki were scrapped for this game, I am glad that they added characters like NiGHTS (who really should have been in the first game) and Vyse from Skies of Arcadia. Overall, I really liked this game, despite the fact that Danica Patrick is in it.

#7: Professor Layton & The Miracle Mask

Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask Boxshot

For the first time ever, the professor makes his jump to the 3DS, and it does not disappoint. Miracle Mask may not be my favorite game in the series (that would be Unwound Future), it's definitely not my least favorite (that would be Curious Village). New and uniqe puzzles, great aesthetics, and a really interesting story make this game worth picking up. It did take me a while to finally pick up, despite the fact that I've has it since Christmas. In fact, this game is the reason why this list was delayed for so long. I wanted to play it extensively before I actually gave an opinion. Sure enough, it was good enough to make it on the list.

#6: Persona 4 Arena

Persona 4 Arena Boxshot

Another fighting game? What the hell is going on here? Yes, at #6, we have BlazBlue with Persona characters, Persona 4 Arena. Oh boy, where do I begin? Arc System Works making a BlazBlue-styled fighter with Persona characters is just a recipe for amazing. I love the characters (it helps that I'm a huge Persona fan), I love the music, and I really like the way the game plays. Every character has their own fighting style that makes them very different from one another. Personally, my best character is Chie, seeing as how I've won 10 out of 40-something matches online with her. If there's one major gripe I have with this game, it's the story. In BlazBlue, every character follows their own path and has their own unique story to go with them. In this game, nearly every story follows the same formula, with maybe one or two exceptions. Aside from that, this game is really fun, and I would highly recommend it to any fan of fighting games.

#5: Kid Icarus Uprising

Kid Icarus: Uprising Boxshot

Moving into the top 5, at number 5, we have my favorite shooter (if you could classify it as that) of 2012, Kid Icarus Uprising. I really love this game. The game is split into two different gameplay styles: flying through the air on-rails shooter, and on ground combat. Both gameplay styles work really well and are really fun to play. This game is also the first game published by Nintendo to be fully voiced since Star Fox 64 (honestly, I don't know why they don't do voices more often). The voice acting is great, and the dialogue is hilarious. I do have a few problems, however. Some of the levels in this game tend to drag a bit. Also, everyone's big gripe with this game, the controls. Personally, I don't think the controls are that bad. They're not terrible, but they do take some getting used to. Overall, Kid Icarus Uprising is a great game that I honestly hope gets a sequel sometime in the future.

Anyway, that's it for part 1 of my top 10 games of 2012, I hope you all enjoyed it so far, and part 2 will be up in a few days.

Thanks for reading, and I hope your having a fantastic day.

My Top 15 Let's Players [Part 2: #6-#1]

And now it's time for part two. If you haven't read part 1, go back and read through it.

I'm not stating the rules, already did that in the first part. Moving on then...

EDIT: Becuase I'm a dumbass, I actually forgot to include one of my favorite LPers to my pre-made list.

#Whatever: HCBailly

1.jpg?v=50dcbe43

I'm really sorry for my incredible unprofessionalism, but here's the LPer I forgot, HCBailly. HCBailly is well known for doing LPs of mostly JRPGs, including almost every Final Fantasy game except for X. He's very professional with the videos he makes, and I really enjoy listening to his commentary. As far as where I would put him on the list, He's probably at around #7 or #8. So... I suppose this is a top 16 now, isn't it? Again, I apologize for being stupid.

#6: JoshJepson

1.jpg?v=508843a9

Now at #6, we have Josh Jepson (but you knew that already). Josh is a great example as to how a let's player can be both professional and funny at the same time, with great commentary, regular uploads, and knowing when to cut the video when he messes up. Not only that, but he does let's plays of a very wide variety of games, ranging anywhere from Mario to Halo (although, he generally sticks to the Mario side of that scale).

#5: ProtonJon

1.jpg?v=840ab2

Now it's time for the man who updates about as often as VG Cats, Proton Jon. In all seriousness, though, that's really the one thing that keeps Jon from being any higher on this list: his occasional lack of updates (to be fair, he's updated a lot more in 2012 than he has in the past few years). Aside from that, he puts A LOT of effort into his videos, and the effort really shows, especially in his Superman 64 let's play. Not only that, but his commentary is both funny and informative of the game he's playing. He can get pretty angry (mostly when playing bad Mario World ROM hacks and Battletoads) and is known to spout gibberish every once in a while. "BILL COSBY.... IS ANGRY!.... STIMPY! I NEED SPACKLE!"

#4: ClementJ642 [aka The Great Clement]

1.jpg?v=4fe70038

Moving on to #4, we have The Great Clement. Clement is just about as professional as you can get. When he let's plays a game, he makes sure that you know EVERYTHING about it while he's playing it (however, he occasionally runs out of things to say if the game is particularly boring, such as Knuckles' Chaotix). If you want to know something about a Mega Man or Sonic game (his two favorite franchises), watch one of his let's plays. He's done just about every Mega Man game ever made, and he's currently working on playing through every Sonic game. Unfortunately, if you're not a fan of those two franchises, you're not going to find much else here. There are a few exceptions, such as Star Fox 64, Super Meat Boy, and Scott Pilgrim.

#3: Chuggaaconroy

1.jpg?v=50b816b0

Now at #3, we have everyone's favorite, Chuggaaconroy. Chugga (or Emile) is well known for... well a lot of things, actually. He has nearly 500k subscribers and has 40+ videos with over 1 million views. He's popular, to say the least. Like Clement, Emile is very professional with the videos that he makes, and tries to give as much information of the game as possible, to the extent of giving a small biography on every Pokemon in their respective areas of the game. What's really impressive about this is the fact that he does all of his commentary live, unlike Clement, who mostly does post commentary. (For those who don't know the difference, live commentary is when a person talks and plays the game at the same time, and post is when a person records the game footage and then commentates over the recorded video.) What he does is really impressive, and I really enjoy the videos he puts out.

#2: SGBLikesToPlay [aka The Super Gaming Bros.]

1.jpg?v=503ec911

And at #2, we have The Super Gaming Brothers. The group consists of Johnny (known for his reviews on his channel SomecallmeJohnny), his brother Elliot, and his best friend Matt (who didn't join the group until much later). What you get is three guys sitting on a couch having a good time playing games. It's really fun to watch, and I really enjoy the commentary. If you enjoy let's plays, and you haven't watched them yet, go check 'em out. You won't be disappointed.

And now it's time for #1. If you're familiar with most of the people on this list, you've probably already predicted what my #1 is by now. So, I won't keep you any longer. My favorite let's player is...

#1: NintendoCapriSun

"Y'know IN THE BATHROOM"

Yes, at #1, we have my favorite LPer: Mr. Timothy Bishop, aka NintendoCapriSun. I love this guy. He's hilarious. His commentary is some of the funniest I've ever heard. He's not the best at playing games (The Runaway Guys certainly proves this), but when he's good at a game, he's REALLY good at it. Seriously, he beat Contra. WITH ONE LIFE. Also, he beat Super Ghouls and Ghosts. That's pretty impressive, I'd say. Not only that, but he's been known to make some really good songs in Mario Paint. Take a listen.

Here are some honorable mentions that didn't quite make the list:

Hal Dimond

Atma01

StephenPlays

ALoyalGamer

Anyway, that's it for my top 15 LPers, I hope you all enjoyed it.

My top 10 games of 2012 will be coming soon, I swear. :P

That's all I have to say for now, thank you very much for reading, and I hope you're having a fantastic day.

My Top 15 Let's Players [Part 1: #15 - #7]

I know I said I would make this blog by at least Sunday, but I was busy for most of the week.

But enough talk, I'm sure you'd rather just have me get on with the list.

Before I start, I do have a few rules for this list: no groups that don't consider themselves let's players, and no collaborative groups of let's players.

That means channels like BrainScratchComms, HellFireComms, Game Grumps, and The Runaway Guys will not be included in this list.

With all that said, let's get started.

#15: TehJonBro

1.jpg?v=50209c2e

Starting off this list at #15, we have TehJonBro. Jon is... well, he's not well known for much, because he's not really that popular. But what he does, he does well, and that is LPs, and animations. Not much else to say. I really like his stuff, and he deserves to be more popular than he currently is.

#14: ScottishDuck

1.jpg?v=793c78

Moving on to #14, we have one of the first let's players I ever watched, Scottish Duck. I don't really have much else to say, really. I enjoy his videos, and he still makes videos to this day, but I just don't have much to say. He's good.

#13: AntDude92

1.jpg?v=d0cc6f

And at #13, we have the first let's player I ever watched, AntDude92. Except, now he doesn't do LPs anymore, and when he did, he did so under the name SonikDude101. When he did do LPs though, they were pretty damn good, and I really enjoyed watching them. The first LP I ever watched was his LP of Sonic Unleashed (which has since been taken down from his old channel). The reason why he's not any higher on the list is because while he still make videos (in the form of reviews and top 10s), he no longer makes LPs, so he's not an LPer anymore.

#12: ExandShadow

1.jpg?v=4fa04fbe

And at #12, we have ExandShadow, aka: Ted from Brain Scratch. Like just about everyone that knows who he is, I discovered Ted through Brain Scratch (more specifically, that one part in Resident Evil 4 where Ryan called him up to be in the commentary for no reason). At one point I just decided to watch his own LPs, and I really enjoyed what I saw. I especially enjoyed his Thousand Year Door LP. Check him out if you haven't seen him.

#11: AttackingTucans

1.jpg?v=506e6516

At #11, we have AttackingTucans (or Tyler). Tyler is an LPer well known for his (very) off-color humor, a style I'm not usually a fan of. I'm not sure why, but I actually find it quite amusing with Tyler. Can't say why, it's just pretty funny. I also admire the amount of professionalism put into all of his videos, even if he sometimes doesn't update regularly. Despite usually being very happy/cheerful, when he gets mad, he gets really f***ing angry. Just watch this video.

#10: Donnabellez

1.jpg?v=4f7f1d6a

At #10, we have the first female LPer (but not the only one) on this list, Donnabellez (or just Donna). Donna is well known for being very happy and incredibly cheerful, despite getting pretty mad when screwing up (not to the extent of Tyler, however). Not much else to say, really. I enjoy her commentary. She also did a pretty good dramatic reading of Ben Drowned.

#9: Lucahjin

1.jpg?v=4f1c428e

At #9, we have the second (and last) female LPer on this list, Lucahjin. Like Tyler, Lucah is well known for her off-color humor, and it's pretty damn funny. Watch her Barbie's Horse Adventure LP to get a good idea of how off-color she can really get. However, Lucah can be very serious when doing commentaries for games that she feels deserves serious commentary, such as Ico, Shadow of the Collosus, and Journey. She's also a pretty good artist and can make some really good drawings, even when she's drunk.

#8: SuperJeenius

1.jpg?v=50b110c7

At #8, we have one of the biggest otakus I've ever seen, SuperJeenius (or Jake). He does what he does, and what he does is good. I enjoy his commentary, he's very optomistic and cheerful, not one to usually get very loud or angry. However, in the few situations in which he does get angry, he gets pretty friggin' angry. I especially love his LPs of Persona 3 FES and Four Swords Adventures.

#7: Pcull

1.jpg?v=50b13841

And now for something completely different. While Jake is usually pretty calm and not usually angry, Pcull (or Patrick) is incredibly loud and can get very angry. And he's HILARIOUS. Probably one of the funniest LPers on this list. All of the anger/gibberish/angry gibberish he speaks is always fun to listen to, and always makes me laugh. Unfortunately, about 5 or 6 months ago, Patrick was diagnosed with mono, and has been unable to make videos for quite some time. It's not life threatening or anything, but I hope gets better soon.

Anyway, that's it for part 1, I hope you enjoyed it so far, and #6-1 will be up within the next few days.

I'll see you all later, I hope you're having a fantastic day, and a very happy new year.

Merry Christmas [I'm still alive edition]

Hello all and how are you doing on this fine Christmas day (that is, if you're reading this on Christmas)?

I feel really bad about not being around (even though I said I would be), but schoolwork got the better of me, plus I was just feeling lazy. :P

HOWEVER, I am currently on my Christmas break, so I will have some free time to mess around here or wherever else I feel like.

Like I said last time, I would be working on a top 15 let's players list, and I did. That'll be posted sometime this week, I promise.

Not only that, but I am also working on my top 10 games of the year list, which I'm currently finishing up, I just need to play more of the games I recieved for Christmas.

WHICH LEADS TO: Today is Christmas, And I got some stuff.

As far as games are concerned, I got Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward (which is SUPER good so far), Paper Mario Sticker Star, Professor Layton and The Miracle Mask, The Ratchet & Clank Collection (aka the PS3 remakes), and Batman: Arkham City: S**tty Box Art Edition (aka GOTY edition).

Aside from that, I got some candy and a couple of shirts and a gift card.

Again, I'm sorry that I haven't been around in forever, and that's partially my fault.

Top 15 Let's Players will be up somewhere between Thursday and Sunday. Look forward to that.

Anyway, I hope you're all having a very Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, whatever it is you celebrate. Just have a good time. :P

I'll see y'all later.
