I love building things, which is why I loved Minecraft, however I'm getting kinda sick of it. I've looked at Terraria, and it looks fun, but I'm not a big fan of side scrollers. One of my favorite things to do is work on building things as a team. I looked for minecraft servers that involve city building and pvp, but the biggest problem is this, walls are destroyed far too easily. The purpose of a wall in medieval and ancient times was to slow down the enemy while archers rained arrows from above. However in minecraft, destroying a 5 meter thick stone wall would only take about 30 seconds. Unless a wall is made out of obsidian (which is completely unrealistic) walls are completely useless. If there are no walls, then all strategy that comes from base building is completely gone. So here are my questions... 1: Do you know of any minecraft servers that have mods that make factions and settlement besieging work like it should? 2: Do you know of any games that involve building and maintaining a base as a team, and then defending that base? P.S. I know I'm picky and this dream game is probably nonexistent, but hey, it's worth a shot. P.P.S. If you answered no to number one, do you know of any plugins that accomplish this? (I would be willing to run my own server) Thanks for all of your help

I am thinking about buying either Fire Emblem: Sacred stones, or Xcom enemy unknown. Both are similar types of games and I don't know what to get. I'm a little bit worried that Fire Emblem is a little too old to be fun anymore, however I like the time period of it better than Xcom. If I did buy Xcom, I would be buying it for I Pad. Which game do you think I should buy?

[QUOTE="SKaREO"]Well, I'm playing Wargame: Airland Battle right now and the only diplomacy you do in that game involves an F-117 Nighthawk and a pair of GBU-27 Paveway III laser guided bunker busters. If you dig complexity, you'll be happy to know there are over 850 units available at your command, you can full customize your deck to tailor fit your strategic deployment. Slower paced, focus on strategic placements of key military assets such as SAMs and ATMs. I'm still a n00b but I've played a few online games and I can easily say this is the most complex and rewarding war strategy game I've ever played.MadCat46
Airland Battle is more tactical complexity whereas the OP is looking for more strategic complexity. My suggestions would be either Victoria 2 or Europa Universails 3 along with all their respective expansions from Paradox. Both games involve much more diplomacy then Crusaders King 2 and both can be played and progressed with little warfare if you choose. Europa would be the better game to start with as Victoria has a very indpeth economic model attached to it which takes a bit to learn. Give it a go and if you like it move onto Victoria 2 or Europa 4 which comes out in a couple of months.

Hmmm, ok I'll look into Europa, thanks.

Diplomacy? *yawn* Yeah, must be the most action packed strategy game ever .... /sarcasmSKaREO

Wow, thanks for such a helpful comment. I would actually like to add that what I am actually wanting is a really complex game. I know that sounds crazy, but that is what I want.

I am wanting a new 4xish game to play. I hav Civ V but I think it is way too simple. Whenever I go for technological victory, I usually just end up sitting there clicking the end turn button, waiting to unlock my next technology. I also can't stand the the diplomacy in that game, way too simple, and stupid. I also have Rome total war, I also find this game to be too simple, though I do still enjoy it. I tried the crusader kings 2 demo and really liked it, however the affair aspect of the game turned me away. I am currently thinking about buying Empire or Medieval 2 total war because I hear that they are more complex. What I am really wanting is a game with some great diplomacy, I think that is what i liked so much abou CK2. Any suggestions?

I think this game looks very fun, however there is one part of it that is preventing me from playing it. That is the affair aspect of it. For some reason the theme of that really bothers me. So my question is, how innapropriate is it really? If it is a pretty big part of the game, can you reccomend me some other similar games? I am thinking about knights of honor...

The main reason I have always have been fascinated with 4x games is because of the fact that they have diplomacy. Unfortunatley, the AI in every single 4x game I have played, has sucked. In Civ 5 the computer player nearly never accepts anything you offer. One time I offered a joint declaration of our friendship, and they declined, but then the next turn, they turned around and offered it to me. In Rome total war, Gaul begged for a peace treaty, and I accepted, but then the next turn, he attacked my city. I really want a game with some decent diplomacy. Any ideas?
