The last time I connected with the story of a game as much as TLOU was the first time I played FFX. I'll probably get it when I get a PS4 but that probably won't be for a while yet.
I have a feeling that this reviewer was rather generous on the score because she likes the political point the game is making. Personally I prefer good gameplay, which I didn't experience much of in this game. But I guess that's me being old fashioned.
Personally I would prefer no backwards compatibility at all than having to pay for all of our games again. At least then they wouldn't pretend they are doing us a favor by allowing us to buy the same games all over again just to play it on their new system.
I'm still yet to purchase a PS3, needless to say I am a rather late adopter... and due to this I have little to no interest in the PS4 and will most likely buy one via the worldwide all-inclusive omni-purchase cloud in 2021 when they are $8.99 for two.
I just find the whole industry pretty depressing these days. I'm well past my gaming prime but to be honest, I'm glad I had some good gaming years before it all got a bit impersonal. Playing splitscreen Timesplitters on my old Xbox whilst getting high with college friends was, for me, as good as gaming ever needed to get, but meh, online does it for some and fair enough if you enjoy it.
