I have a 40in Sony Bravia 1080p set that was unable to run in 1080p with component cables. I just purchased a new 360 w/ an HDMI port (old one rrod & I sold my refurb from MS). Now I can run 1080p. I think this may have to do with the television though because I have heard others say they can recieve 1080p over component...not sure though
I am definitely concered w/ AC...It looks very cool but as stated above, I am concerned that it is going to be a very repetitive game with little replay value and poor AI. I hope I'm wrong, hopefully the lack of a demo is to keep the plot twists concealed until release and not because of those reasons mentioned in "people's complaints," we'll find out soon : ) Waiting on reviews until I purchase.
The towel trick is exactly that - a "quick" fix and temporary. I tried and it lasted about a week then I just sent it in for repair. The big scheme with this many are doing is using the towel trick and then taking their crap systems up to the local gamestop/video game store and trading it in to upgrade to an Elite. This lets them avoid the total cost of a new system and the the long wait for a real repair. Warn your friends to NEVER to buy a used/refurb system from these stores..
My tv is a Sony Bravia 40 in. 1080p set and I can't get 1080p setup to work thru the dashboard...only 1080i, I have an older premium model w/ out HDMI. everything still looks great and I hear the difference isn't much anyways, I wouldn't worry about
lol...UPS store I took mine to recognized the box too....just got mine (actually someone else's) back2 days ago...took about 3 wks. It looks brand new but has a manufacture date of May 05, pretty f'd up when my original was purchased in April of 06 and I treated it like gold
Mine broke 2 weeks ago and it took 8 days just to recieve the box to ship it to them in....shipped it out today and I don't want a crappy free month or so of XBL. Did you guys have to really complain a lot to get the free game(s), wireless headset, charging kits, etc.???? I will do whatever I can to squeeze a little extra out of Micro$oft for my inconvenience.
