Because upscaling can make something look slightly better, but it can't make detail out of detail that was never there. Blu-ray movies still look immensely better then upscaled dvds.
Woo... I'm so glad I got mine when I did though, probably one of the last shipments available with the emotion engine. Yeah, nw it plays PS2 and PS1 games through emulation, like the 360, except Sony has done a much better job with it.
It's always nice to have an extra working ps2 lying around... I'd say (although it's probably already too late) stick with the PS2 if it's a slimline. I'm 15 years old and 100$ isn't much money. (Colorado's minimum wage jump helps with that though... Two jobs, one paying 7.10 an hour and another paying 8.00 an hour...)
Get your alchemy to 100 dude, then you don't even need combinations of ingredients. Potions are practically worthless as potions, but are an excellent way to get mucho money mucho fast. As for spells, chameleon is a godsend if you can get it to 100 (unless you don't want to make the game stupidly easy.)
