I think that all of life is just a giant move from selfishness to selflessness. Think about a baby. All it does is cry and sleep and eat and worry about itself. Think about a middle aged man. He's all worried about other people and providing for others, including future generations. Selfishness is frowned upon, selflessness is admired, and you really move from one side of the spectrum to the other during your life.

Getting older
by 3riForce on Comments
Ok so I was thinking about the process of getting older and I imagined that it was something like this. When you're born, you're standing extremely close to this huge billboard that has your life on it, but you're too close to really see it. But with every passing year, you take another step back, and you see more of that billboard, and you begin to see a picture on it, and you start to realize that it has a shape and a colour and you make sense of it. That's why a person's early years are so horrible, you're standing too close to see what your life really looks like. But once you've taken like 20 steps back, you see more of it, and it all kinda falls into perspective.
