just an update.  M$ is sending me a box this time (they dont always do it like that) so shipping will be free. However, it will probably take about 2-3 weeks until i get my replacement.  The good news is that I went to walmart and bought a core system.  I will use this one until that new one come then i will return it (core system cost about $326 w/ tax). so technically i am going for 360 #5.  wish me luck this all works.

hey guess what?  my 360 broke again.  woohoo. rah.  I am on #3 right now and looks like im going for #4.  And from the looks of things, its not just my luck.   Well, to some it all up shorty (hopefully), Ive been through the three red lights and  a failed disk drive now going on my second failed disk drive.  Some how I just know it.  With the 'To play this disc, place in an XBOX 360' ; the multiple opening and closing of the disk tray; constantly rebooting the console; disk is unreadable: 1. clean disk with soft clothe 2. restart console.  You can tell when the disk drive fails.   it just doesnt want to read the damn thing,.  Ive done everything ive been told as far as caring for my system.  Im its slave. but once again ive lost another 360.   I kinda know how it works now.   that whole 'refurbished' thing could be more of a myth.  I think is just poor quality hardware.  M$ is pretty good to you if you have a warranty though.. As long as u register your console you have a warranty for one year with M$.   Each time your xbox fails (which i assure you it will) and XBOX sends you a 'new' one, that new console with a new serial number needs to be registered again which M$ does automatically for you. So each time you get a new 360 you also get a brand new warranty.  so that is cool. The only fault is that you have to sent it to TX on your dime.  depending on how fast you want it to get there and how far away you live from TX it could you $108  give or take ( i paid $108 @ the UPS store for next day air).   Most of the time it should not take more than 6 business days from the time they receive the 360 till you get yours.
I am sure you are all scared that your xbox might break.  you should be, because from my tests , it will.  3-4 times.  oh yes it will.
Soon my friend. Soon. this might be resolved and the hardware might  NOT suck.  Maybe.  Soon. maybe.
you can go to walmart and buy a core system and put your broke one in the box and return it to get money back.  A little bird told me that Walmart does not scan serial numbers.  but you have to pay cash.    Its risky but if you are desperate you can do it.  I wouldnt . you couldnt register the thing so you are screwed if that break
If you want to know anymore, ill be around, just ask.

So I got my first 360 in december of '05. It worked fine for about 3 months until I got the three red lights.  So I called microsoft and they replaced it in a couple days. My second 360 lasted for about a year until the disc tray malfunctioned and wouldnt open unless a disc was in it. Also I frequently got a white screen telling me to put the disc into an xbox360 ( yeah).  So finally the disc tray would not work and the console would not read the discs. For a second time I called Microsoft and I paid about $100 to ship that thing to Texas to get it fixed.  About 5 days later a brand new console arrived. Low and behold I kept recieving thw white screen. Also the darn thing started to scratch my discs rendering them useless.  Now I am sitting here tryping this waiting for Crackdown to load but for some reason when I try to load a single campaign,I get stuck on the load screen.  Now as far as taking care of my xbox I do everything the people at microsoft tell me to do.  I lay it flat in a ventilated area and plug it directly in the wall (the console apparently has its own surge protecters).  All I want to do is play.  And more often then not I am left disappointed because the game I want to play can not load or the 360 wont read it.  Now will I have to keep doing this or what?  I am tired of being frustrated with my 360 not working the way it was meant to.  Do I have to send it in every 6 to 12 months?  I have spent a lot of money on this system and it keeps letting me down.  I want answers and I want better hardware! This is stupid.
