Report: It was the tale of a missed penalty and an inspired substitution in the North London derby between Arsenal and Spurs.
The first half was a rather tame affair, with both sides not really going forward with the real killer that we know they are capable of. Play was disjointed and inconsistent spells of possession so both sides lack a penetrating edge. The real chance was from Flamini who, hooked his volley just wide after just 71 seconds. The rest of the half played out with little to excite except a header from Toure which brought a rather theatrical dive from Robinson.
The second half was a massive contrast to the 1st. Arsenal started it a guns blazing and got the first goal with 2 mins. Good work from Rosicky, created a little space for Fabregas to move into, as he received the pass, he drew in a defender and created space for Adebayor. A sly back heel from the spaniard to him tee'd him up perfectly for his 10th goal of the season and his 6th against Spurs in a year.....Spurs will be sick of him.....the goal spurred the gunners on and they started going forward a lot more purposefully, only to be foiled by good defending from Spurs, yougster O'Hara had a great game, in the heart of the Spurs midfield, he controlled their play and provided the 30 yard pass to Lenon who played in Keane, who played a clever backheel to Berbatov who managed to toepoke his shot into the roof of the net, leaving Almunia no chance. The game started to pick up pace, with both sides sensing a winner, and it looked like that winner would be going Spurs' way when a clever trick from Berbatov fooled Toure who then felled him in the box, leaving ref Rob **** no option but to award the pen. Up stepped the ever reliable penalty taker, Robbie Keane. He had a chance to end Spurs' 9 year victory drought against their bitter rivals, but it was not to be, his penalty was well saved by Almunia, the save sent the Emirates crowd into raptures and left Jens Lehmann stony faced and ruing the miss. The miss proved crucial as a minute later, an inspired substitution from Le Boss saw Niklas Bendtner come on for Eboue and with his first touch head home to send the crowd into absolute disarray.....
The game played out with chances on either side, but in the end, Arsenal's 9 year reign over north london stays intact and the win keeps them at the summit of the table!!!!!! ALA GUNNERS!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh just a lil afters i've noticed the Milan will belong to inter for a while as they beat their bitter rivals AC 2 - 1.........just something I'd state out in thought of our very own AC Milan supporter right here on gamespot!!
Report: Games of this caliber come around rarely, and when they do, Arsenal is normally heavily involved. This time the gunners weredoing battle with a strong Blackburn side, there's always been a rivalry between these two teams, with sparks flying at every turn, this game turned out absolutely no different. Passion, pace, skill everything.....it was like the chelsea games, but with different teams, literally. THis time Rovers were our opponents and Niklas Bendtner was the only player in the SQUAD who had featured in Sunday's win.
First Half: Arsenal dominated the 1st half, and the 1st goal came on the stroke of 6 mins with a really nice finish from Diaby, courtesy of Bendtners fine cross. Blackburn were near non-existent for the first 25 mins. Their only sign of life was the horrendous defending which led to Arsenal's 2nd goal by Eduardo, from Denilson accurate pass that should've been taken care of by Samba. Eventually, Rovers wakened and got down to their business end, with Dunn forcing a really good save from young Polish international keeper Lukascz Fabianski (another good looking find by Le Boss. Chances were getting hard to come by for both teams, as the defending was decent well on Arsenal side anyways:P!!...then against the run of play really, Rovers got a goal back before the break from Roque Santa Cruz, from a whipped in Matt Derbyshire cross, although I reckon he was offside when he got the ball, but the linesmen had other ideas......oh well.
Second Half: Blackburn went into this half all guns blazing, they were putting the gunners under a lot of pressure and a couple of last ditch clearances and so stout defending keeps rovers out, that is until the hour mark. A free kick is brilliantly curled in by Bugatti, uh sorry by Bentley and Santa Cruz gets his head on it and it flies past Fabianski in goal. With that goal, Rovers sensed a winner a were going forward with meance, while the youngunners were content ot hit on the break, the game had a real flow to it, end 2 end stuff. Rovers miss a couple of opportunities late on in the game, Santa Cru being the most guilty with a miscue from 8 yards out. Then late on in the game, a 2 footed lunge earns Denilson a red-card.
ET!!: The game goes into another 30 mins and the players looked absolutely finishe, the fisrt half was a cagey affair, but a surging running from the CB Alex Song, opens space for Eduardo and he pass from Song is perfect for Eduardo to latch on to and slot it home past Friedel. 2nd half of ET: This half bring more excitement as Rovers move forward in search of an equaliser, desperate defending baols the gunners out, while they're just keen to lug it forward, and keep it away from their goal!...Eventually they hold out for the final whislte.....GREAT GAME!!!!!!
Report: This game was billed as the 2nd for the Grand Slam Sunday, with Manchester United (ManU or Manure) and Liverpool having played just before, the all 3 points going Manure's way courtesy of a Carlos (Shrek) Tevez goal, that meant that Manure had overtaken Arsenal to taste 1st position in the league and Liverpool stuck in 5th place. Therefore this match had a huge importance on both tems with Arsenal wantiing to regain 1st place and Chelski wanting to close the gap
The 1st half was played at a high tempo with Arsenal on the front foot for 90%, using their slick passing to try and carve out chances, not many were found as Chelski held firm. Chelski on the other hand ahd very little going forward with only long range efforts to take notice of, these both brought out good saves from Almunia who continues to keep MadJens out of the team. Cards were being given out for fairly stupid challenges to, one went Emmanuel Eboue's way for a very nasty challenge on John Terry, which according to the commentators has damaged his metartasal...BAD news for Chelski & England, On the stroke of half time, Arsenal took the lead in the most un-Arsenal fashion, an inswinging corner was badly misjudged by Chelski keeper Petr Cech leaving the skipper William Galls to guide the ball home with his awesome looking mohawk shaved head (I've got a mohawk :D:):D:P). thus the 1st half ended with Arsenal in front.
The second half started with no changes to both teams. Chelski stated to foray up front a lot more regularly and they were starting to create decent chances. One went John Obi Mikel's way which brought out a fine stop from an equally fine strike. AS the game wore on, more cards were thrashed out and the game wasopening up....BIG TIME...Avram Grant brought on Claudio Pizarro for Claude Makelele and he set up a truly golden opporutunity for Shaun Wrihgt-Phillips, with Almunia at his mercy, he skewered is shot wide from INSIDE the small box:shock:....this proved to be his last contribution as he was taken off for Salomon Kalou immediately after recovering from the shock of his miss. Robin Van Persie came on for Emmanuel Eboue who had gotten a nasty looking knock from Joe Cole's challenge. His impact was immediate, he brought out an unorthodox same from Petr Cech. A little later on, a quick counter attack move involving Rosicky, Adebayor and VanPersie ends up with the ball in the back of the net courtesy of VanPersie, but the fans celebrations are cut short due to offside from Rosicky....grrrr:evil:....Then another Arsenal move is foiled by brilliant goalkeeping from Cech who completes a double save to keep out VanP and Fabrgeas' efforts...during all this goal mouth action, cards are being given like free pizza......then Arsenal look to have sealed it, a ball over the top has Adebayor and Ben Haim contesting over it, the Arsenal forward wins the ball and cooly slots it home, but referee Alan Wiley cruelly judges the challenge on Ben Hain to be a foul....back to 1-0....then back on Arsenal's end of he pitch, Shevchenko misses a golden opportunity to level the score by making his header easy for Almunia to hold on to....a minute or so later Sheva fizzles in a free kick which Almunia makes sure that the cameramen have something to put on the back pages, lol wat a tv dive.....Arsenal then replace Adebayor with Niklas Bendtner, whom sets up Fabregas in the dying seconds of the game, but he is foiled brilliantly by ex-gunner, A.Hole...sorry Ashley Cole, this in return brings out a bad tackle from Fabregas whom is then struck by A.Hole...aargh not again Ashley Cole. Throughtout their little altercation, the ref blows for the whistle and end the game......a fantastic game ends with all 3 points staying in North London!!! YAY!!!!!
This weekend is a MAJOR one in the Barclays English Premier League, the so called BIG FOUR, go head to head in 2 matches that should consist of drama, skill, goals, action and of course controversy and talking points........
THe First Game is:
Liverpool FC vs Manchester United
Both teams have been in great form over the past couple of weeks, Liverpool recently put 4 past Marseille to slide into that elusive UEFA CHampions League round of the Last 16, ManU were held by Roma 1-1, but Sir.Alex fielded a very young and second string squad, which leaves his big guns refreshed for this huge game. Liverpool on the other hand have got two very in form players in the form of Steven Gerrard (Captain Fantastic) and their 26million pound summer signing Fernando Torres who is starting to get goals seemingly at will. Manchester United also have in form players with the ever deadly Cristiano Ronaldo and their English forward Wayne Rooney and his companion Carlos Tevez.
This game will be awesome....i can guarantee, there are plenty of match winners in both squads and any bit of magic from them could determine the out come of this game
My Prediction: 2-1 to Liverpool, their deafening home crowd, along with Captain Fantastic will spur them on to a victory
Second Game:
Arsenal FC vs Chelsea FC
This will be a game of clashing **** for sure, Arsenal love to move the ball around and play beautiful quick football and Chelsea are more mechanical in their approach towards goal, which is still effective none the less....Arsenal's form recently has not been of the best with only 1 point taken from their last 2 games, but I reckon that is because of the number of key players they have out injured, Fabregas, Hleb, Flamini, VanPersie are all integral parts in our team and they may be available......Chelsea on the other hand have been cruising with victory after victory. Again, a lot of match winners will be on show here, Lampard, Fabregas, VanPersie, even Petr Cech.......
This games momentum will swing like a pendulum IMO, the first goal will be so crucial and that might determine the outcome of the game
My Prediction: 2-0 (cause I'm a Gunner:P) to Arsenal............
Report: OK this game didnt really have a lot of importance for both sides, Arsenal, having already qualified for the next round fielded a very young second string side with the likes of Traore (18), Denilson (18) starting and the main big guns left to rest for the BIG game against Chelsea this Sunday. For Steaua it was a case of playing for the heck of it, their fate was sealed before the kick of a ball, they would be going home.
Arsenal started off very crisply, with good movement and passing. Our first chance at goal came as early as the 3rd minute with Theo Walcott racing into the box only to see his shot drag slightly wide, from then on Arsenal dominated, and i nthe 8th minute, a pinpoint cross from Bacary Sagna found its way to Abou Diaby, who's first touch was perfect enough to put him into a shooting position, which he clinically slotted home. From then on, chances started to come and go, Diaby was in the thick of things and nearly got a second when his shot took TWO wicked deflections, but brought out a fantastic save from Steaua Colombian keeper, Roberto Zapatta. Walcott was looking extremely lively and creating good chances but it was just not to be his night. Steaua Meanwhile were rarely out of there own half and when they did get into promising positions, there wide players were offsides. The second arsenal came late in the half, Van Persie's sweet pass found its way to Niklas Bendtner who cooly slotted it home.
THe Host went into the brak 2-nil up...the scond half saw changes made by both managers with Wenger clearly keeping an eye on Sunday. It was Steaua replacements that however had a more positive effect, they had more purpose about them and pushed forward. Then in the 62nd minute, substitute Surdu pushed forward and from there aceoss was floated for Zaharia to power home past Jens Lehmann. From there Arsenal were put out of their stride the goal and the host of changes had unsettled the side and the cohesion was lost, Steaua were on the front foot and nearly grabbed an equaliser with a wicked shot one of their mids which went just wide. Arsenal however hung onto the 3 points to secure 2nd position int the group.......
I read an article about this guy from Microsoft.... he said that sooner or later (hopefully sooner only one console would be utilized) and he went on about some other stuff blablabla...anyways.... that got my creative juices mixing and I started to winder what this wonder console would be like, btw I'm just calling it a console because the PC will never be replaced IMO, and this is what I came up with...............
Ok I'll be straight wit ya'll since we have the PS3, Xbox 360 and the Nintendo Wii here and now so this wonder console will take a lot of inspiration from those console, and of course stuff from the good ol' PC.........here goes
The suff inside:
the console would obviouslsy have to be a powerhouse in terms of processing power (ala PS3), because us gamers whether or not we use that gameplay > graphics speech really like the eye candy, so thats that. It would have to have Blu-Ray AND HD DVD (again using these formats because its sort of here and now) to watch high quality movies and other vids on it. The console (this is the crazy part and people will say keep dreaming) should be upgradeable (ala PC) thing like the HDD, CPU, RAM etc would be upgradeable to cope with the ever evolving technology. I know that ya'll will be thinking that this super console is starting to look a lot like a PC but hold on there....this is my reasoning behind this upgradeable super console, since there would be only one company (called MicroSonyTendo - hey thinking up a name of a company is harder then it sounds), that company could pump all of its resources into that 1 console and make it absolutely uber!!! this uberness would only need to be upgraded every X amount of years, getting rid of " I hate PC gaming nothing works on my pc any more and I bought it 9 months ago, I'm going back to my console (hugs PS3, kisses 360 and drools over Wii)" rants.....with the resources of Microsoft (huh galaxy big), the advances of sony (insert awesome Sony gadget here) and the creativeness of Nintendo (huh the Wiinote...nuff said), they could create a console that could have the horsepower to match a Buggatti Veyron, enough hi-tech devices to please James Bond and the creative equivalent to DaVinci, Picasso and of course me(just kidding). These things together would create a console of true awesomeness. It would be able to take ANY games thrown at it with a laugh (yes it should be able to laugh out loud too:P.......
The outside
the super console would also have to be a decent size, so I'm thinking between the PS3 and the 1st Xbox would be the size because they'll have to cram a load of shtuff in there. another thing that us gamers like is the ability to customize, whether it be a skin on Firefox or WMP, or ones Xbox controller, customizing is cool cos it makes wat we have a lil unique, the outside of the console should be able to be highly customizable, whether it be a football sticker or a pic of Jessica Alba (my girlfriend ;)) or something major like painting the whole thing a bright luminous pink (hey you never know), it should be allowed because its something that is appreciated by all. Now just because this mega console will be highly customizable, that doesn't mean that it can't be pretty from day 1, the PS3 for example is a very good looking console, and the 360 is not as looking but very customizable (just take a look at all the faceplates you can get) now if you had to combine that, you'd have a very pretty and highly customizable console, I know that its easier said then done, but with all the resources that companies have, i'm sure it can be done. Oh and don't worry, the Wii is definetely still in my mind when it comes to a customizable console exterior, I know that the Wii isnt very WOWing, but with Nintendo and all their creative juices, I just know that they can throw in some ideas that would greatly benefit the super consoles look.
Controller Now onto one of the most important part of any gaming device (I think), the controller/s. Again, since we live in the time of the Sixaxis and Wiimote and the 360 controller, this controller will take some inspirations from those items. Ok I'll be honest, wat I really want to say is that the mega console would have to come packaged with a sick keyboard, Sixaxis and Wiimote and the 360 controller all in one, but that would be stupid, so wat I'm gonna say is this, that the controller would have to be adaptable to all types of genres of games, FPS, RTS etc.....I honestly can't think of any way this would happen, but look at the Wiimote, who would've thought that good ol' Nintendo would come out with such a wacky and successful contraption, who knows, maybe the controller ideal for the wonder console is something along the lines of a Wiimote, along with its extensions such as the gun from Pelican for FPSs, Who knows, but that leaves the a lot of annoyed devs that will be scratching their heads for many many hours, trying to figure out how to adapt this Wiimote like controller to their highly realistic war simulator.....I think that would be one for the makers of the wonder console to really think about, they'd probably have to use the guys from Nintendo to ask wat went through there mind when they envisioned the Wiimote.......maybe ya'll have suggestions on the ideal controller, don't be afraid to let loose and give your ideas......
Games
Ok now to the one thing that truly makes or breaks a console, the games......good exclusives (Bioshock, Halo 3, MGS4, Super Mario Galaxy) are factors that definitely affect a consumers decision on which hardware to buy, since Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo would be working as MicroSonyTendothey'd be no fighting over exclusives. And since there would be only one mega console, developers would be pretty happy IMO, they'd only have to concentrate their efforts on one piece of hardware and could get the most out of it, because it would be so well done. And if the developers only have to worry about the mega console, they can worry about developing better games, of better quality, more polished, longer, innovative etc.
Conclusion
Ok in a nutshell, this is wat I think..... - There should only be one mega powerful console that would provide gamers with the strenghts of many - ALL games should be developed for this console
I know that some people will say that this will never happen, all that financial talk of this and that and losing money and so on and I agree with them, and disagree because, 1st of all the likelihood of Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony merging is practically IMPOSSIBLE, but maybe just maybe, peoplearound the world will wonder why 1 mega console hasn't ever been made and will demand it, and maybe, just maybe it might happen....who knows, anyways, the purpose of this blog was to see what people think of this crazy idea of please comment (AND MAKE SURE ITS SOMETHING GOOD!!!!! muhahahahahahaha ok now I'm getting hysterical)
Report: Sorry Guys didnt watch the whole game.......was at a party.....heard it was really good though......I managed to sneak to the TV and watch some bits & pieces........I cant report so I'll just leave some links
Report: From an Arsenal Fans point of view the gamewas extremely dissapointing, we started off so well getting a great goal by Eduardo, with the crossing coming in for the extremely impressiveNiklas Bendtner...From there on we went downhill, Sevilla were the better team from then on HANDS DOWN.... they attackedwith more purpose, defended better and just played a better game of football than Arsenal did....Very few players had a decent game for Arsenal, Bendtner and Eboue being the only ones who I thought did a good job, Bendtner's overall play was outstanding and Eboue was runninghis heart out on the right hand side. Senderos had a paricularly bad game, as the 1st goal was his fault, a bad clearance led the way for an attack that was half cleared by a desperate dive by Gilberto which Keyta gladly put away.....for the second goal the linesmendefinitely hada part to play in it.....afoul that shouldnot havebeen led way to Fabiano's brilliant header......thepenalty just underlined Arsenal shamblesall over the field....Really dissappointing match.....better luck next time gunners!!!!!!!!!!
Yet another 3 points racked up by Arsene Wenger's awesome team......they proved to strong for Wigan, despite missing a number of key players in the form of Cesc Fabregas and Aleksander Hleb....I didn't watch the game (MAJOR BUMMER :() so I can't exactly give a good review on it....but wat I heard was that Wigan kept everything tight....defended awesomely well and kept their shape.....In the end though Arsenal did manage to pull through with goals from William Gallas and Tomas Rosicky..........GO GUNNERS!!!!!!!!!!!!.......(what makes this victory even better is that Man Utd lost....YAY YAY YAY!!!!!!!!!!)
Arsenal Line-up: Almunia, Sagna, Gallas, Toure, Clichy, Rosicky, Hleb, Fabregas, Flamini, Adebayor, Eboue.....Subs who came on: Walcott, Eduardo & Gilberto
Report
Brilliant Game, great skill, passion, heart-stopping, beautiful......
Easily one of the games of the season.....It started off very cautiouly, with both teams not willing to really go for it with the worry of their opponents awesome counter attacking capabilites.....Rooney snuck in his goal from a cross from Ronaldo just gefore the break.....Fabregas equalised 2 minutes into the second half with a cool finish after good work by Hleb, Adebayor, Eboue and Sagna........Ronaldo goal came from a clever pass by Saha to Evra and he crossed for an easy tap in for Ronaldo......the end was where Gooners like myself were biting our nails...HEAVILY!!....Clichy whipped a great ball that none could get anything on....eventually it came out to Gallas who slotted it away to my absolute delight...(lol i hurt my foot celebrating)
Overall, it was an awesome game.......my heart says that we desevered to win, but my head says that it was a fair result....oh well...bring on Steau!!
Almunia: was good in goal,a bit at fault with the 2nd goal, didn't really need to come out....but its kewl
Toure + Gallas: solid, goals weren't really their faults....Great goal by Gallas!!!
Sagna + Clichy: Played WELL, solid in defense and as usual, always willing to come forward with good effect,Clichy was a bit nervous when Ronaldo was around, But for most of the game, hekept a lid on him, and he put in that awesome cross!!
Fabregas + Flamini: Flamini had a very good game, ran absolutely everywhere, the game was so tight that Fab didn't have the time and space he normally has, but when he did have the ball, he made something happen....Good Game.....GOOD GOAL!!!
Hleb + Eboue + Rosicky + (Wallcott) + (Gilberto): Good performances, made good runs and worked hard.....Hleb had an awesome game, looked so sharp, kept the ball well and created the first goal....Gil sured things up and Theo made the defense sh*t themselves hahahahaha
Adebayor + (Eduardo) : intergrated well with the teams play, gave us good options going forward and tireless running as usual + Dudu came on and gave us another option which stretched their defense
