@Morphine_OD I disagree. An example would be the new Lara Croft. She was plenty believable. She wasn't sending guys flying with spinning kicks. She was using arrows, guns, and blades. Women are perfectly capable of using those to fight. You might argue she gained those skills too quickly, but then you'll need to apply the same argument to male protagonists.
I personally think the design was a bit much. I would prefer more female characters get to wear armor and practical clothes like male characters tend to. That said, a female dressed like that isn't disgusting.
@ChiliDragon @b74kd3th Great post that sums up my thoughts completely. I'm all for examining sexist slants in video games and having more strong female leads. I'm just not fond of Last of Us taking all this criticism when it excelled in so many fronts, including having some strong female characters like Ellie and Tess. :)
I already think Naughty Dog did enough tweaking her model to get rid of some of the likeness. She originally did look just like her, but after seeing her in game, I can definitely see a reasonable difference.
