What if this is real? Will you still let your hate for Nintendo consume you and not buy the console? Thought so.Fake specs.
Cafe wont have more than a HD4770 gpu in power and flops.
Wii2 will catch fire if they put that heat hog even in 32nm in the wii2
The gpu in cafewill prop be 50-70% in power of this fake one.

The Dreamcast was about twice as powerful as N64. This is 5 or 6 times as powerful as PS3 and 360. Twice as powerful? Could you provide a source for these numbers? http://www.pvcmuseum.com/games/console-specs/ It's a solid 2 times, maybe 3 times as powerful as N64.[QUOTE="7suarez7"][QUOTE="tormentos"]With those specs it look like the Dreamcast to me surely a next gen system,a machine with those specs should make a considerably better looking game than what we have now,it has more video ram than the PS3 and xbox 360 had combined for both video and system ram. E3 can't come sooner it would be interesting to see if Nintendo try's to go after the hardcore market.SakusEnvoy
They will be feeling the pressure because Nintendo will officially be starting the next gen. Sony will be feeling the pressure too, no matter how much they try to deny it. If they wait too long the next gen will be all over, it will be Nintedo's. Also, if Microsoft do not release 2nd after Nintendo they will have to be watching their backs because Sony may do and then Microsoft will be f*cked. Vice-a-versa. Thiss console is leagues ahead of Xbox 360/PS4 so it IS the next gen, now either Microsoft and Sony join the boat or get left behind. That's the way this works, remember the PS2? Also, the fact that 360 is still selling should give Microsoft more reason to release their next console ASAP to keep up the momentum. Here in System Wars, we think a little too much about the concept of "winning a generation". The real goal of any hardware and software manufacturer is simply to sell hardware, and then to sell software on that platform. If hardware sales increase year over year, they're in a good position. If software sales increase year over year, they're in a good position. And if the profitability of each unit of hardware sold increases each year, they're in a good position.[QUOTE="7suarez7"][QUOTE="SakusEnvoy"]
What makes you think Microsoft is feeling that sort of pressure? They're currently outshipping everyone worldwide, even the PS3. Kinect got off to a fast start. They're making tons of cash, everything they do right now is hugely profitable, and to top it all off Cafe probably will end up sharing the same third party titles with the 360 anyway.
What Microsoft needs to do is make a successor console that is way out of Cafe's league. That would give the successor console an actual raison d'etre, otherwise there'd be no point even making one. Microsoft doesn't need to make a new system that would just end up getting the same games the 360 would.

A strategy for dealing with Cafe from Microsoft or Sony would first evaluate the effect that Cafe has on hardware sales. If sales decrease, then MS or Sony would (logically) put in place a price cut, the goal of which would be to undermine Cafe by providing a much cheaper alternative to HD gaming. Third party developers will almost certainly continue making games across all three platforms, which will be a huge boon to the 360 and PS3. The PS2 was abandoned only because it no longer was able to keep up third-party support because the 360, Wii, PS3 and PC all ran circles around it. But talk as we may about Cafe's (possible) potential power, third-party devs are not going to start churning out lots and lots of big budget exclusives for it. It's just not gonna happen, those days of platform exclusivity are over. If Sony/MS don't make a move, then devs will downgrade their games to work on the 360/PS3.
The PS4 & 720 must be significantly more powerful than Cafe. That and that only can justify their creation. To create a system that is not significantly more powerful would be a waste of time if devs continue to support the 360 & PS3 and the 360/PS3 continue to sell. The goal must be to push Nintendo out of third party support; the way to accomplish this is to not release a new system until such power is possible at a reasonable cost. Even if it means launching "mid-generation".
Yes you make a good point but who's to say Microsoft and Sony will team up again? Imo Microsoft will team up with Nintendo and release a console with similar power to Cafe. There's 2 reasons for this: Nintendo's consoles always sell, and the fact that the Wii was such a success I can almost guarantee Cafe will be too because most Wii gamers will jump onto Cafe. Microsoft will want to play side by side with Nintendo and leave Sony out in the cold and let them milk the "amazing $600 PS3" for as long as they can. But if this does happen then Sony will act quickly and jump into the Cafe/720 boat and try to compete. Therefore we'd get another PS2/ GCN/Xbox era.[QUOTE="7suarez7"][QUOTE="SakusEnvoy"] It seems to me Cafe will play the role of the Xbox while the 360/PS3 together play the role of a PS2, in terms of power. In other words, the 360/PS3 will be on an extended lifecycle for a few years, and MS/Sony won't likely show off anything until 2014+.
I don't see how that is the case...the Xbox was 2-3 times as powerful as the PS2 yet they still shared games. This is 5-6 times the Xbox 360/PS3, it's on a different level. It will share games with those 2 but it will also share games with PS4 and 720 because I doubt they will be 3-4 times more powerful than this, especially since I believe Microsoft will release their console in 2013, only a year later. I mean seriously, this is 5-6 times as powerful as the current gen consoles. Xbox 360 was only about 4 times as powerful as the original Xbox. Also I heard Microsoft will be releasing their console about a year after Nintendo so it won't be that much more powerful than this if at all. Sony will most likely take a different route and not go for a $600 console again so we may very well have a close generation in terms of power next gen, and since Nintendo are taking the lead they will most likely win it. The next gen could be a repeat of the PS2 GCN Xbox era but a bit closer without anything being as weak as the PS2 compared to the Xbox.SakusEnvoy
