man i can't wait for this gen to be over, all these lists eventually won't mean anything, that'll be an awesome day

the voice acting seems appropriately monotone for Samus
what bugs me is the horrible writing and how often Samus speaks... somebody who spends that much time alone shouldn't be so talkative
my favorite game this year is still Mass Effect 2, i've been having a blast with games like Red Dead Redemption and Starcraft 2 which make me forget ME2 at least for a little while, then it's back to ME2 as my GOTY
the only game so far that's really made me forget about ME2 is Oblivion Deluxe Edition on Steam but i'd feel kinda dumb for saying a 4 year old game is GOTY
Is it safe to say there is now officially no reason other then halo(which is pretty much dead now that bungie fell in love with the trey) to own a 360?
discuss your feelings on these occuring transitions, and what must microsoft do to keep its fanbase because at this rate the ps3 is coming out with over 50 new exclusives while i think the 360 only has a handful coming out.

eh, still goes like this for Mass Effect trilogy:
PC (far better version of ME1, slightly better version of ME2, mods)
>
360 (has ME1 and ME2)
>>
PS3 (just ME2)
i think it's great for PS3 owners still, but if somebody asked me which platform is definitive for Mass Effect i'd have a hard time recommending the PS3
i bought the eye of judgment back in 2007 w/ PSEYE
i've played:
The Eye of Judgment (obviously)
The Trials of Topoq
Operation Creature Feature
Aquatopia
...
i think that's it, can't remember
either way, it was interesting but the camera was kinda laggy when tracking moving limbs, like when you played Operation Creature feature you had to move slowly with your hand to drag creatures thru puzzles... Trials of Topoq is similarly slowly paced, at least it requires some coordination but it's way too slow to be enjoyable, and anytime you started moving around so you weren't just using the same muscles constantly (which holding your arm out gets old no matter how fit you are)... it just wasn't very enjoyable
i think i recall Sony talking about making a PSEYE-controlled XMB back in 2007 but they kind of abandoned the camera after EYE bombed
i think it ended up failing because you had to have really bright levels of light, i remember it taking me awhile to even play the eye of judgment because i had to turn on every light in the room, sometimes bringing extra lamps and even then it'd fool itself and stop seeing the cards, and to be honest the games just weren't very good
i had a week off when i bought my 360S and pretty much played it about 10-15 hours a day nonstop catching up on games, so it's got that going for it
you gotta admit it's hilarious when people complain about the 360 being all shooters... so when they come out with a peripheral controller that pretty much works best with any genre other than shooters, people complain, and then tout the Move as better with shooters, like it's a good thing?
i mean, Time Crisis is awesome, i can't wait to play it on the Move... but, it's still Time Crisis... and i also pre-ordered Kinect because it's completely different from the Wii, sure it's the same old gimmicky "party game" stuff, but that appeals to my relatives, and new tech appeals to me personally... so i figured "sure why not, it's a totally different experience from 360 games, and it seems to really grab that Wii party vibe - which isn't a bad thing at all"
overall... dunno, Kinect could be good, it's got potential, Move is more predictable, and has some good games planned already, but these being peripherals in their infancy, it's like judging a book by its cover... anybody else tired of this cliche argument?
Square should publish Bioware games in Japan, just so we can watch anti-east/west rpg nerds' heads explode
