Halo 3 Beta!!!

Well it's not all about the Halo 3 Beta. I just thought if I put that in the title, people would read it. As you know, people can sell anything if Halo is in it (See Crackdown). Anyways, the Beta is pretty sick! I am skipping my third day of school to play it (I must be a terrible student).

Gameplay
Just as fun as Halo 2, with a lot less duel weilding. Feels like Halo 1 almost. PLEASE BRING BACK RACE!!! Hearing all the gunfights from across the map is cool =)

Weapons
The Assault Rifle is my weapon of choice. At first, I hated using the Spartan Laster, but after getting the hang of it, I'm usually the one grabbing it in any map. The spiker Grande is useless unless it is super close to the target or stuck to them. The rockets seemed to have slowed down. Detachable gun turrets ZOMG!!! Spiker Pistol is only good when duel weiling. SMG = meh. Noob combo sucks? I love this game! Carbine is better then BR? I really love this game. Needlers might be infused with crack...
MIA - Sword, Human Pistol, Sentinal Beam (Does anyone care for that gun?)

Graphics
Pretty water. Realtime (Leaves falling from trees). OMG, I can see myself in your visor! And Remember kids, everything is very detailed when veiwed up close.

Halo 3 is released on Tuesday September 25th, 2007 in North America. I will, and I'm sure a lot of people, will be camping outside the store so I can be the first to play it. I don't care what ****I will be missing. I will be finishing the fight.

So Blizzard and Company have put up a timeline of the games they have released over the years. In case you didn't know, They are announdceing a new game tomorrow. Starcraft 2. I have to work tomorrw, so I won't find out until 8ish :S

How about an Update?

Yeah, it's been a while. So I went a few months there without updating or getting any games lol. Since New Years, I got World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade, Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2, Guitar Hero II and The Elder Scrolls IV: Shivering Isles. A of those games are pretty tight. I love being the Blood Elves in WOW, and than I'll see a level 60 on the second day the game is out and realize that some people have no lives. I don't feel that GRAW 2 is a sequel because it has a short campaign and very similar graphics. Oh well, I still enjoyed it. I have been waiting for Guitar Hero for Xbox for the longest time. It's so good that it's finally here, I just don't like hear that we might not get downloadable songs because of a possible GH3 coming out this fall. Sucks when developers screw you like that. And finally, Shivering Isles. This is a GREAT expansion. It adds achievements, a whole new world to roam around in, new weapons and armor, and of course, a whole new story. The only problem I had with it is you have to play through it twice to get all the achievements. Still, it was fun to play through it twice as every choice you make in the Shivering Isles changes how people will react to you.

People have being reacting to the http//rev64.com site that Ubisoft is promoting. I've been there myself and it's true that all three franchises are mentioned in the audio and video to the side you have to make out for yourself. But this game takes place in like 2024. This is at least 10 years are GRAW 2. Sam would be in his 70's, Mitchell might not be in command of the Ghosts anymore, and I don't know where they're going with Rainbow Six anymore...My theory is that well, the last game of each series, as of now, had a cliffhanger ending spelling out a sequel for all of the franchises. Maybe they have to work together to stop WWIII. I don't really know, but I want this game. I guess their marketing ploy is working lol.

New Halo 2 maps of old Halo 1 maps come out on Tuesday. They will not be available over the Xbox Live Marketplace because MS wants everybody to have them because not everyone has an Xbox 360. That's cool; I'll play Halo 2 again for more maps. But Next month is big for Halo, as the Halo 3 Beta begins on May 16th! That means I'll be playing Halo 3 when I should be studying for exams and I'll probably be skipping a lot of **** It's true what they say; Anything with Halo in the name, people will buy.

The Xbox 360 Elite is coming out on April 26th! I'm still thinking about upgrading as I am finally getting a HDTV. I might just get the Hard Drive upgrade to have more space as I download like everything off the marketplace. Plus I think the Black 360 looks badass!

Happy New Year!

Well we finally made it to 2007. This year should be big for video games, as Halo fans will be able to finish the fight as the much talked about Halo 3 is going to be released, A whole new world is opened up later this month as World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade is released to gamers everywhere, Wii will explode with an array of games that will bring the system back into contendership, and PS3 will release a series of games where you attack a giant crab by attacking its weak spots for massive damage. Oh, and I turn 19 and can (legally) drink. So with that said, I wish everyone a Happy New Year and I hope all your resolutions become fulfilled.

Oh and Congrats to me for getting to Lvl 18.

The Games of Christmas

First off, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays all. Hope you all had a great one. And if you were unlike me, hopefully you got to that sale today for Boxing Day. Now to my gaming holiday. Now every single one of my gifts had to do with game, that would just be Insane. So I'll just spread it out.

Xbox 360
Need for Speed: Carbon
Rainbow Six: Vegas

Nintendo DS
I finally got a Nintendo DS! I've wanted one since the beginning of summer and I finally got one! YAY!
Mario Kart DS

PC
World of Warcraft

Now I've been playing the trail for WoW the last little while and have been hooked, so I just had to get this game. I'm already planning the expansion when it comes out next month.

GOTY - Gears of War...Why?

This game had a lot of hype to live up to. It did a very good job at it too; it just fell a little short. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy the game, I just don't think it really deserves the GOTY award. The only flaws the game had were its short story that was hard to follow at some points, the repetitive action during campaign mode, and the fact that the game seemed to rely more on graphics then game play. When I checked the achievements for the game, I was happy to see that it had 5 acts of campaign mode to get through, little did I know that they would be short, as I beat the game within 12 hours of buying the game, btw, it was on hardcore. That really disappointed me. The game play throughout the campaign mode is really repetitive. All you do it take cover, shoot, run and repeat. That got annoying quite fast. And then there's the story, I just couldn't follow it and had no idea what was going on the entire time. I just ran and shot. The game overall is still pretty good, and this is just the first step that Epic is taking into this universe. Hopefully, they will work on these flaws for the sequels. Hmm, it always seems that when the game is called the next Halo, it doesn't even come close to being Halo (Brute Force, Perfect Dark Zero, Gears of War, What's next?) My choice for GOTY would have to go to The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. I just loved that game from start to finish, and it still has new content coming out every couple of weeks.

11/21/06 - 11/22/06 - Wonderful Wii-k!

First off, I would like to wish Bungie and all the people who no longer work for Bungie a job well done as Halo: Combat Evolved turned 5 this week. Yes, it's true. We have been battling the Covenant for 5 long years, and the War is almost at an end as Halo 3 is due to ship sometime in 2007. For the anniversary, Bungie dropped a bomb by announcing that a 60-second Halo 3 commercial would air during the Monday night football game on December the 4th. If that wasn't enough Halo news, Bungie also announced that Halo 2 multiplayer was not done yet another map pack is in the works and is set to be released sometime next spring. Still not enough? They also announced that a Halo 3 Multiplayer Beta would be available next spring as well. I've said to before and I'll say it again: What a great time to be an Xbox 360 owner!

The lines were long but the wait was worth it as the PS3 was finally released on Friday. Everyone bought one so they could sell it on EBay for $2000 - $3000. Why else would someone buy a PS3? The only decent game was Resistance, and it only got an 8.6 from GS! Sorry Sony, it seems that your time in the spotlight is over.....well time near the spotlight as it never was the #1 system ever. Face it people, it went from N64 to Xbox to Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii sharing it. Enough said.

Waiting for Wii
10:45pm Saturday - 2 t-shirts, 3 sweaters, 1 winter jacket, 3 pairs of pants, double layer socks, winter boots, my laptop, and a camping chair. I set out with a friend to wait outside Best But for the Nintendo Wii Launch. Temperature - 3C

11:24pm - We arrive at the store to find out that there are 55 consoles available and 20 people in front of us. We are guaranteed a system each. Temperature - 2C

1:54am - The boredom sets in. We arrange a Mario Kart DS game with the others in the line up. It's fun; everyone is Shy guy, weird. The line up is now 35 people.

3:15am - My friend's brother shows up to give us a break from waiting, he watches our spots. We grab a coffee and find a shopping cart in the parking lot. We make a video of us screwing around with the shopping cart. Temperature - -2C

5:00am - Boredom. The line is now past 55. Unlucky people keep showing up.

7:30am - Sunrise. The employees give the lucky 55 their sheets with what they have available in stock. Half the crowd leaves unsuccessfully.

8:00am - The doors open and the Nintendo Wii's are finally sold out. I only got The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. So far it's fun and seems to live up to the Hype.

Well it is now November 22nd, 2006. So congrats to Microsoft as it was one year ago today that they launched the highly successful Xbox 360. I tip my hat to you Microsoft. Here’s hoping for another couple of years of success.

Update - 11/1106 - Remembrance Day

Today is the day that we all remember the soldiers that gave their lives in a number of different wars. They gave their lives so that we can live in peace and freedom. To those soldiers I say Thank You and Rest in Peace. Lest we forget.

This week was big in gaming and movies. Emergence day has finally come and Gears of War is here. I just picked up my copy today, Limited Edition of course, so I really cannot comment on it yet, maybe next week. Call of Duty 3 was also released and Rainbow Six Vegas is coming out next week. Kind of picked a bad time to release those games, because of Gears of War and....well...PS3 and Wii coming out next week. I still plan on getting a Wii, but Zelda is the only game I want. So, I might actually skip out on the Wii and get the Game cube version in December. I don't know. At first I thought faceplates for the 360 were stupid. "No one is going to see the system but me." Well, while I was out today, I bought the Halo faceplate along with Gears of War. Came with the Halo Trilogy theme for the dashboard. That's not all I got today. I went over to Chapters and picked up Halo: Ghosts of Onyx, Splinter Cell, Splinter Cell Operation Barracuda, and Splinter Cell Checkmate. I love the Splinter Cell games and I love learning the back story of most video games. I can't wait to read those books and play Gears of War. Speaking of which, I'm off to play Gears of War.

Update - 11/04/06

Well, it has been a busy week. I bought the new and my first Splinter Cell game. I liked it, but have since played one of the older Splinter Cell games, and have seen how the new game has changed. The whole Spy vs. Mercs multiplayer is very fun. With the points gained from the achievements from Splinter Cell, I have finally passed the 10,000 mark on the Xbox 360. With more games coming out this month, it looks like my gamerscore will be increased even more. Games like Rainbow Six: Vegas, Gears of War, Need for Speed Carbon, and other great titles/ Although, I have played the demo for NFS Carbon and wasn't really impressed. Recent announcements that have impressed me; Ubisoft made reference to GRAW 2 as their next major project in one of their recent updates, Bungie explained some of the information that we will soon all know as soon as that EGM mag comes out, although it is older news, Splinter Cell 5 will be exclusive to Xbox 360 and PC, and the most recent OXM gave out new information on the upcoming Rainbow Six Vegas, Splinter Cell 5, and Halo Wars. But I don't have it yet, so I'll get back to you. Last but not least, the movie that everyone should see is Borat. It's "Very Nice!"

18th Birthday!

This past weekend was kind of sad. It was my last weekend of work. Now I'm unemployed until May 2007. But Monday was a day to look forward to, as it was my 18th birthday. Yay, I can finally vote! I didn't really ask for anything because I didn't really want anything, although NHL 07 or 2K7 would have been nice. My parents do this annoying thing were they give me the distraction girts first and save the Big one for last. All the distractions gifts turned out to be clothes, but I knew something was up when I got no birthday money. My father left the room and came back with the Big gift. This year it turned out to be something quite useful that will help me with my education: A laptop.

It's an Intel Celeron M 410 (1.46GHz)
LCD 14.1" screen
256 MB of Ram
HDD 40 GB
DVD-Super Multi

It's Sick!

The X06 Experence

Wow, Just like E3, X06 ended with a shocker. Halo is being made into a RTS game exclusively for the Xbox 360. Here's hoping it does better then LOTR: BFME II, which was also a great game.

[video=IHFnwzH_5bsFvTLb]

There were actually a lot of great games mentioned at X06. Some of those titles include Allen wake, Splinter Cell Double Agent, Lost Planet, PGR4, Doom for the Xbox live arcade, Bioshock and Marvel Universe. There was also mention of yet another Halo game that involves upcoming Halo film producer, Peter Jackson. And finally there was mention of Splinter Cell 5. What a great time to be an Xbox 360 owner! :)
