Huge Gamerscore Boost

Well, I finally did it. I achieved a Gamerscore of 5,000 just 2 days ago while playing Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter for the Xbox 360. Since then, I borrowed Fight Night Round 3 off of one of my friends and got all 8 achievements there worth another 1,000 points! I plan on buying The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion this Saturday so I can boost my score even more! :D

Reliving The Classics

I bought the Xbox 360 for the games. Some of the new features of the system were the wireless controllers, the backward compatibility, and of course, the Xbox Live Arcade (XLA). Little did I know, I would spend more time during the first month of owning the system on the Arcade then playing any of the real games. A genre of gaming in the Arcade is the Coin-op Classics. The games in there are the old favorites; Smash TV, Gauntlet, Joust, and Robotron 2048. I remember back in about 1993 when my mother would take me grocery shopping. At the entrance of the store was a Centipede game. I would spend most of my time there killing centipedes then helping my mother get the groceries. Since then, I bought Arcade’s Greatest Hits The Atari Collection 1 for the SNES, which includes Asteroids, Super Breakout, Tempest, Missile Command, Battlezone, and of course, Centipede. That old grocery store has closed down, and the building was destroyed. My point is, Microsoft is bringing back the classics with their XLA, and I respect them for it. And their not done with just those classic games. Coming soon to the XLA is the classic fighter, Street Fighter II, along with a version of defender. I wouldn’t mid seeing Centipede, Asteroids, or even Pac-man making on the XLA, because they have to be, in my opinion, some of the greatest arcade games of all time. Anyways, with the success of the Xbox 360 so far, Microsoft can surly thank the Xbox Live team, because they are truly reliving the classics.
