Glad to see the X1 catching up. Would love to see another dead heat race as gamers can only benefit from it. In a weird way, I'm glad MS tried the always online, constant DRM, mandatory Kinect, etc policies. The horrible pre-orders and then the later success after Phil made the changes has shown the console companies not only what gamers want, but what we won't stand for. Hopefully, if there is another console gen, Sony and MS will remember what worked and what didn't.
One thing I'll never understand is people that say the can tell graphical differences just by looking at one game.
If the lighting is good on, say, Far Cry 4 on PS4, the "expert" will say "See that lighting and shade effects, you can totally tell this is on PS4." Without putting Far Cry 4 on X1 next to it, how do you know these lighting and shade effects weren't something the Far Cry 4 devs put a lot of effort into as opposed to another graphical facet of a game? In other words, what if Bethesda didn't make lighting and shade effects a priority on Fallout 4? Would you look at that game on the X1 and say "Oh, look at these awful lighting and shade effects. You can definitely tell this is on X1."
To look at a more blatant example, would you compare the PS4 running CoD (60 FPS on both consoles) vs X1 running Assassin's Creed (30 FPS on both consoles) and say the PS4 is better because of the framerate?
@otterbee: Eddie is basically the video game counterpart to a local news reporter. Get the headline, but never make any effort to fully understand the story.
