Kind of torn on this. Full disclosure, I'm a Destiny player that doesn't have a ton of time and I've never been amazing at console shooters (On PC I regularly dominate, but in my current situation, I can only play console shooters right now). I like the idea that they've made this easier to get because it gives me a much better chance to get the AoS. However, if I was a hardcore Destiny player, I would be miffed that Bungie just made it easier for everyone.
I think they need to offer buff items or possibly just wearable trophy-type things for truly talented players so they can proudly display what they've earned. But awarding an epic gun to an epic player just makes them more epic and the rest of us get steamrolled. I know, I know, "Git Gud" and all. But it also sucks to be locked out of a portion of the game that you paid for because you don't have the 200+ hrs available to grind and "git gud".
It'll be interesting to see how the do RDO. GTAO was a sandbox with nearly limitless content because it was set in modern times. I just can't see how they can roll out content in the form of things you can buy in-game. It makes more sense to me that they will have entire map expansions that you can buy. I mean, it's not like they can release the Osiris horse or X80 Proto donkey.
