I will briefly state the reasons I feel that Uncharted 3 will end up being a third person multiplayer king:

Guns - The gunplay is different from Uncharted 2... and better. The guns handle differently from each other and there are pros and cons of using each one. ND has done a good job to balance them out so far and in the final game we will be getting more. Headshots are possible with pin point accuracy in the competitive modes and they sound much more improved compared to how they sounded in UC2.

Variety - There's tons and tons of customization and collectibles in this multiplayer that keeps you coming back. This is the one the major things that this multiplayer has over Gears of War 3. You can collect treasures to unlock customized clothing through various game modes and you can earn cash for getting a variety of medals which vary game mode to game mode.

Visually - The game is still pretty. I'll say that Gears did look more impressive visually, and that's mainly due to crazy lighting effects and smoke effects from those nades. Uncharted 3 looks great though and will be definitely better looking when it's released. No need to question what ND does. We've seen them do this in Uncharted 2 in terms of polishing all aspects of a game before it's released.

Uncharted TV - This idea was brilliant and I really enjoy watching this while waiting for games. The killstreaks that I've seen from these videos are incredible and makes the whole experience entertaining. I would label this as another thing that this has over Gears of War 3.

Platforming/stealth/melee - With Uncharted 2 the platforming was there, but wasn't as prevelant as it should have been. With UC3 that changes. The maps are much better designed as they are more vertical. They essentially playgrounds to move around and battle in. In UC3 you actually have health which brings another dimension to the gameplay. If you're good enough you can now escape the enemy through leaping, spriting, and climbing. You wouldn't see that too often in UC2 because they lowered the health and therefore once you were shot at, it was very difficult to recover. In addition there's the awesome stealth, close camera melee, and pull down moves you can pull off. This is another major thing that UC3 has over Gears. UC3 makes this distinction matter more because they improved in these areas and the maps are built around that.

Buddy System and split screen play - This makes the game much more fun and adds more potential teamwork.

There are actually more points I have, but I was being extremely brief here.

[QUOTE="ABCarmine"][QUOTE="mD-"] #1 is going to be such a lame answer, but it's true: 1) This is a beta. I noticed more situations like that happening earlier in the beta rather than later in general from what I've experienced and read. ND has been tweaking a lot through those 4 updates. 2) You always have the hardcore mode, which plenty of people play and will be the go to mode for competitive play. _Cadbury_

Still ignoring my post about me being from the future and UC3 didn't do as well as people thought it would I see.

What does that post even mean lol. I was trying to figure it out before.

[QUOTE="mD-"] Oh it will cause I plan to own every person in this thread who doesn't make any valid point. Come at me!mD-

Answer me on this how this isn't needless and stupid on ND's part. This is a scenario I encountered more than once:

I was playing TDM, the teams are pretty evenly match and the game is about 3/4 of the way through. My team was winning 39-36 and next thing I know.... POWER PLAY! Losing team gets 2x DAMAGE!!" My team goes from being up 3 kills to be losing 45-41 by the time the 2x damage expired. I ended up losing the match.

How is the competitive?

[QUOTE="Fizzman"]

[QUOTE="mD-"] But this was a UC3 beta... how can you speak on competitiveness, lol...? Also UC3 has a hardcore playlist.... Also weapons in UC3 are harder to master... Also UC3 has a 2 v 2 v 2 deathmatch mode where you can play with a friend on their own psn id split screen. How can you say it's more competitive?mD-

How are weapons in UC3 harder to master? You point and shoot in both games.

I shouldn't have to answer this, but there was ,much more recoil on almost all of the weapons...

The AK-47 is a great example. It was easy to spray that weapon down in Uncharted 2 and get kills. You have to be much more careful in controlling it.

Other than the few of you, did anyone actually play the beta at all? Wow..

Hey, from the future here, and UC3 Kind, well, flopped. I personally liked it, but not many others did..........

Funny thing is that the majority in this thread who end up hating on it probably haven't played it. UC3 Beta was crack in video game form and only those who have played it know. The next most close game to in terms of third person multiplayer is obviously Gears of War 3.

I've played both betas. I enjoyed both. Gears of War 3 Beta was obviously more polished graphically as they've been working on the game longer and it looked great.

UC3 was downright more fun and crazy. The taunts are hilarious. The buddy system is brilliant. The game modes are great. The beta was surprisingly pretty balanced. Yemen is was an amzaing map. With all the treasure collecting, different kickbacks, and the customization, UC3 packs a ton of personaility.

Haters, find me a third person shooter where you can have a gun fight with someone traveling down a zip line?

TrapJak

Find me a TPS where you can customize your character to put a bunny head on him/her. Your argument is invalid.

You can put a fedora on.

YOUR point is invalid .

Who where's a fedora in the middle of a shootout? Doesn't make ANY sense.
