Just get some PSN cards can buy digital. It's what I'm doing, I got Uncharted physical copy because it came with my bundle I bought then I downloaded Lumines UMvC3 and Wipeout2048. Way better than buying physical copies.
I'm going digital because it is far cheaper than buying locally where I live. Plus I like not having to carry around game cards. I've been with Steam for years now so I'm comfortable with digital. I just hope Sony can take note from Steam and do massive sales from time to time. Scratch that, everyone can take notes from Steam when it comes to digital downloads.
Oh, and the boxes don't have anything in them anyway.
Unless there is a cool collectors edition then it's digital all the way.
I don't think they will be pushing what is currently possible with the next machines. I think the business side of it won't let them, both Sony and Microsoft are in a very comfortable position right now they aren't going to want to go back to loses on the console. They will make a machine that will turn a profit from the word go.
If the rumour that the GPU is based off of one of the current ATI 6000 series that is very disappointing. My PC, which is about a year and a half old already beats it in raw power if that is the case. Even more disappointing is that if this is indeed true the 6000 series card it is based off has just been replaced by the 7000 series.
Although, the sticking point is that the power increase is actually a bad thing for developers. Games cost goes up dev cycles get longer I believe that next generation we could hit the theoretical roof of the games business model. Where the cost of making a game that maxes out the power on the console is so expensive that to turn a profit becomes nearly unthinkable.
I only found out it was an XBLA title shortly after I played the beta. I was sold on it as a full retail game, so I would have been fine throwing $50 at it.i just spent 50$ on it and dlc

[QUOTE="wwervin"]lol this is like selling someone a game, and then selling them the beaten version of the game so they don't even have to play it. Why would you even buy it in the first place if you're not going to play it? It just boggles my mind.Eternal-Entity
Pretty much they get to play through the story and mess around. Like God Mode.
Sort of. However the most extreme example of this comes from NFS Pro Street. You can literally pay for all the rewards given for beating the career mode, essentially making it useless. Check it out, drop down to where it says Sports Car Bundle, Tuner Car Bundle etc, and read the description of each. http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-GB/Product/NFS-ProStreet/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d80245410822Remember when we had built in free cheat codes to do this stuff?
Depending on how much grinding is required for unlocking, those packs may be helpful to people who don't want to grind.CodingGeniusIt is only cosmetic stuff, capes cowls shirts and so on (I think) Honestly though it is a good idea. I have no problem with them making the game this way, I'm not one for unlocking things with cash as it is far more satisfying working towards it with points I earn in game.
For most games I don't see the need for more than 200, but as CodingGenius said there are those few games that are HUGE and it just doesn't fit in with only 200g. I wouldn't mind them raising the limit to 500g.wwervinExactly yeah, those are the games I had in mind. But it would be hard to put a value to the length of a game as it can differ so much from player to player. I don't think every game should be bumped up, only the ones that would makes sense to have more than 200GS.
With XBLA games becoming bigger and bigger, not only in size but in play time and popularity. Should Microsoft revise the default 200GS cap on XBLA games? I've always seen achievement points as part of the 100% completion package so it can be argued that they do increase the life of a game, however with only 200GS there isn't much a developer can do. Most XBLA games clock in with 12 achievements, I'm unsure if this is a limit enforced by Microsoft as well, but I wouldn't be surprised since so many games seem to hit that number.
I don't know about everyone else but personally I would like to see some kind of tiered system implemented. For example 800MSP+ 200GS, 1200MSP+ 350-400GS and 1500MSP+ 500GS. Might seem silly to some but I believe that many XBLA games could find a longer life span with more check marks on their achievement lists.
What do you think?
