I've had mine since December and it's been fine. My favorite games are:

Call of Duty 2

Gears of War

Burnout Revenge

Shadowrun

Guitar Hero II

I don't have Oblivion or Rainbow 6 but you should look into getting those as well.

when i bought my 360, i didnt have a hdtv, but instantly fell in love with it. I love the 360 game selection and xbox live is awesome. i cant stress that enough. if you have friends that have xbl, you will definitely have countless hours of online gaming fun. now i have a hdtv and cant play without it, but thats just me. (opinion). but id definitely get a 360

That too- you know when all your friends are online and you can acess voice chat and IM with them, you can download a demo for a new game whenever you want, you can buy awesome classic arcade gmaes for $5-10, and matchmaking is usually quick and easy. Oh, and Gears of War has a chainsaw/assault rifle.

Games for 360 are coming out every month, and every month usually has at least one good game.

I don't have an HDTV but I've had my 360 for about eight months. I find myself not playing PC games any more or even caring about new PS2 releases. Basically, the 360 is the best console out there right now. PS3 may be better in a couple years, but right now it isn't worth the cash. Just play a few of the awesome games on 360 and you'll see. CoD 2, Gears of War, Shadowrun (which I enjoy despite criticism) and of course you can play Halo 2 if you never had the original Xbox. Kameo is sort of fun, but you'll find almost all of the games on 360 are racing and shooters. If you like either genre, it's for you. If you're more of an RPG gamer, there isn't a hell of a lot available to you on 360 right now other than Oblivion and Marvel: Ultimate Alliance. At least not enough to justify a $400 purchase. That aside, 360 is a great console with a lot of excellent games. I would strongly reccomend one to anyone I know who enjoys video games.

Well, considering how awesome Live is, and the fact that it costs about $50 a year (about a third of the price to play an MMO), I would go ahead and do that now. Sometimes you can find the card in stores that has 12 months "plus one bonus month" for the same price.

Ok, so far, from my responses, I'm getting the Elite, gears, and vegas. What other game should I get?

GamerX90

well MAKE SURE u get xbox live cuz 360 is nothing without that once u have live, get CoD2 NOT CoD3 go wit gears and vegas as well, but look into oblivion too. -gears -vegas -Oblivion -Cod2 these are the best games currently out in my opinion.

Yea, I forgot to tell you guys that I'm getting xbox live for 1 year.

And question: Why CoD2 and not CoD3?

CoD2 is made by Infinity Ward, and they had a better grasp on the CoD formula. The game is just more fun. And playing through on Veteran is a blast.

I don't have gears, but I played it at a friend's. You need to get it. In terms of other games you should get:

Guitar Hero II- It's just plain awesome

Burnout Revenge and NFS Most Wanted are my two favorite racing games, ever. Forza is decent as well.

GRAW and Rainbow 6 are both pretty good. If you want to play the Halo 3 beta you could rent Crackdown.

I'm looking forward to Shadowrun on the 29th. Wait to see what Gamespot rates it as before you make a snap decision, it could be worth buying.

I can save ten game demos and all my save files on the 20 gig HD and still have space. There are cables for iPod and other mp3players that you can plug itno your 360, so using the actual hard drive for music is useless. Unless you have some strong urge to buy Microsoft points to get yourself HD movies, the elite is a waste of good money. Keep in mind it also costs $50 for a year of Live. Enjoy your console, man. The 360 has a great new game every couple of months.

The PS3 has Resistance: Fall of Man.

And nothing else of considerable merit.

I don't know about those other games, but when I play Burnout Revenge I noticed something. If the game tries to save at the exact moment that the in-game music ends, the unreadable message and scrathy noise happen. See if something specific happens when your console gets screwed up, and try to avoid the situation. It's probably a bug that they didn't work out.

It's Burnout Revenge, Without a doubt. The game lasts a really long time, and it's incredibly intense. It raises my pulse in the same way that the best FPS's do. The online is also pretty good, once you finish the story. I'm 78% of the way through myself. It's pretty easy to get achievemnets for perfect times as well. So if you're crazy about gamerscore, Burnout has about 500 that comes easily, and another 500 that's a bit harder. Great game- I'd give it a 9.4/10.

Whatever you do, don't take NFS Carbon. It's a waste of money, and most wanted is at least 3 times better (even if it came out first) because in carbon the cars just don't feel like they're going fast.

But if you don't like the combat-based competition of Burnout, go with PGR. It looks nicer than the others and plays about the same.
