Against it. Against guns at all.

I totally agree. I mean, it's so simple! Why wasn't it thought of before? Let's just ban all guns, becausethatwill anybody from obtaining or using one.

/issue

Obviously it won't remove them all, but countries with strict gun laws or straight out bans seem to have, surprise, less gun violence. Hell a single city in the US with a small population tends to get more gun deaths in a year than many countries get in their entire country in a year.

Astriala baned guns, and if I remember right, high general crime rate?

I don't see why everyone is so paranoid. Your chances of being shot/stabbed aren't so high. You're more likely to be killed in an auto accident. So stay off the road if you're afraid of dying.

[QUOTE="Abstractthinker"][QUOTE="topgunmv"] I support it. That said, I know people who have their permit who shouldn't. theone86
And that's the people that we are trying to protect ourselves from.

And how do you make that distinction?

I don't, soicity just has to assume bad faith and screen applicants via background checks. After that we allow those that appear safe to carry. If they foul up they lose the privelege to carry.

it also makes sense to fear the potential kind of people who may have that control as well.one_plum
The power of protection?

I support it. That said, I know people who have their permit who shouldn't. Once upon a time they were pulled over and found with a loaded handgun that was not registered to them (decades before getting their permit). They had a very expensive and good lawyer.

Of course we should allow it. What if some rapist started attacking a wife or family member of yours and he was armed with a knife. With a gun, you are in control. Without one, well, sorry the criminal wins again.yentlequible
^Exactly^, that is the point I am trying to make. Criminals will always have weapons, good guys should also have weapons for protection.

In a shopping mall filled with gun carriers, how am I supposed to know which psycho fired the gun?one_plum
He will be the one with the big gun and not a small pistol.

C. You can't know that because everyone is different. Some may be on edge more, and snap during the crisis.Abstractthinker
These are questions that could be answered by research.

I disagree, I think of a crisis situation as a playing card deck with just jokers.

A. How exactly do you define a crisis?

B. How often nowadays do banks get robbed?

C. You know they're not going to fire the guns unless they have to and they're not going to hurt anyone except maybe to make an example (breaking a nose to make people think twice). theone86

A. When a criminal / psycopath has a weapon that may harm others if not subdued.

B. Where I live, once a month or more. (Plusthey talk about a murder almost every night on the news)

C. You can't know that because everyone is different. Some may be on edge more, and snap during the crisis.

So now what?! I'm not going to tell my folks cause I love my sister and don't wish her any problems? Should I just stand out of her way?

Both I and the law say the same thing, tell your parents. Since your parents are gone for the moment and your the only one around, the law will hold you responsable for her behavior. It's called social hosting. Allowing someone that is underage to drink under your care is a crime, the same can apply to underage sex. I would tell your parents if I where you.

 I am sure the 'law' will arrest him right after they bust someone for a 250 year old blue law

Jail time might not happen, but a nice fine and a revoked driver lisence might.
