You really think the writers would be so stupid to linger on that aspect? If anything, it will subtly get mentioned and that will be that. Adding in a gay character will not change your beloved Star Wars, much in the same way that adding black people in film in the past didn't make film worse (I'm sure there were many who thought adding in blacks for the first time was "pandering").

You're making it a bigger deal than it has to be. But if you want to "boycott" this movie for something so small, by all means, feel free. This movie will still do fine without you =)
