i was faced with the same question a while ago, i chose a ps3 because I belive it will have more longevity,

The hardware for the ps3 is superior and even tho it might not show it now, it will in a year or two, also a much much smaller failure rate.

I also didnt want to pay for online, and MGS, Killzone 2 and Socom Confrontation all look amazing,

A game without a good single player is crap. I buy my games because of the single player not because of the multiplayer.

I will buy Lair with or without multiplayer.

I dont understand why respawn games are so much more popular these days, I wish some more games with socom style would come out.

usally between 2k to 20k online, there is some cheaters, but just dont let it bother you, 95% dont cheat.

My first question is about mics, now the reason im asking is because from my searching on the web and here, all the answers are contradicting

1. Do ps2/usb mics work with the ps3, (motorstorm/resistance), because it works with socom 2 but i can figure out how to get it to work with motorstorm or resistance. If it does work, whats the buttom to talk?

Ok, this second question i just couldnt find anywhere

2. If I was to put a hdd with a bunch of crap into my ps3 does it reformat it?/can it reformat it?,

3. When you put a blank new hdd in the ps3, does it have to reinstall the OS? does it do this automaticly?
