I just want to say I regret clicking on this thread. Even if one person tries to make sensible conversation, there's always this idiot who's played 400 online matches and can't stand the game anymore who makes a good effort to tell everyone how much he or she hates the game. That was a long sentence. :)

Anyways, I find the pistol very efficient, especially when the enemy underestimates its capability. Shoot three times in the head or a few times anywhere + a good bash to the head. Plus, a pistol is generally a last resort, and a battle rifle should be 100 times more effective in combat. In Halo 1, you could own the enemy with your pistol from across the map, and that's just not believable. (notice how I didn't use the word realistic, because it doesn't apply in Halo)

Is there really anything called "must have"? Let's call this thread "favorite games" instead, because everyone has different tastes.

In my opinion, it's not worth getting if you can get a Premium with HDMI. Chances are then you'll also get one that's quieter and cooler, like the Elite.

I'm getting the Elite because the upgraded Premium won't be available where I live for a long time. Also black looks a whole lot better.

As for not getting one with HDMI at all, now that's not very far-sighted at all. Might want to have the option to get a TV that supports 1080p later. And HDMI is also a lot more practical and clean, even if you never disconnect the xbox.
