That's right, you new get fired for, erm, doing your job! Well after the whole news hitting the fan recently with Jeff's firing, I for one, just like a zillion other people on the site, am angry. I wanted to have hope that it was a rumor, but come to find out, it isn't. I am going to miss Jeff's reviews here on GS, and can only hope I can get to see him again or on another site. I'm disappointed to see how low corporate pigs have sunken now. Sure, you can say this isn't a big deal, one man was fired for a review that may or may not been fair about a game that may or may not be utter trash. I'd like to take the time now to contemplate what to do next with this situation, and would like some of your opinions on the matter. Afterall this isn't a good thing to be coming back to after some time away from the site for Thanksgiving. Keep on truckin' Jeff. Oh, by the way, lawlz at 2.6.

Ultimate Fight Night 11
by AdamStir on Comments
As promised here is my continuous coverage of everything UFC, last night was the 11th annual Ultimate Fight Night Live! A free cable event held on Spike TV featuring some of the UFC's biggest up and comers, and best fighters in general. I will not do a summary for any of these fights as there was no title on the line.
Lightweight bout:

Diaz wins the fight due to submission from a guillotine choke at 4:10 of round one.
Middleweight bout:

Leben is victorious at 3:56 of round three due to knock out.
Lightweight bout:

Florian wins via submission from a rear naked choke at 4:40 of round one.
There was some serious skill being shown by all fighters that really surprised me, I was more impress by this action than any PPV I've purchased in a long while, I look forward to seeing more of these fighters, some I've seen before, but there were some real technical submissions and knock outs during this event, good job to all the fighters.
UFC 75 -- Champion vs. Champion
by AdamStir on Comments
Continuing my coverage of every UFC event, pay-per-view, and live show, I bring you the long awaited first title defense of Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson, who squares off against the only man to ever hold to championships of two different weight classes simultaneously, 'Dangerous' Dan Henderson. This UFC event was broadcast free in America on Spike TV, second time now this has happened, and I love it, 40 less dollars I have to spend to watch. :P Anyways, I'm covering one fight only in this blog and that's the main event, so lets get started!
Light heavyweight unification bout:

Pre Fight Breakdown
I'm going to be honest, I want Henderson to kick Jackson's ass all around this fight and make him tap. Unfortunately, Henderson is the underdog here, if only for the fact that he is the challenger. Henderson is a very decorated wrestler, and has great striking ability, maybe not as good as Rampage, but his wrestling is far superior. Jackson is a very proficient striker. For Henderson to win the fight he will likely need to bring things to the ground. Now on to the write up.
Round 1
Back to back action exchanged between both fighters, knees punches, both fight all the way to the bell. I score the round 10-9 Henderson.
Round 2
Both come out swinging again, nice knee by Henderson, good uppercut by Rampage. Henderson scores a takedown, Henderson rains knees on Jackson from above, Jackson lands a few shots from bellow. Jackson rolls out and on top of Henderso. Henderson ends with an up kick. I score the round 10-9 Jackson.
Round 3
Similar to the second round, many missed exchanges early on by both men. Henderson takes down Rampage. Shots are traded, Jackson from the bottom, Henderson from on top. Rampage rocks Henderson near the end of the round. I score the round 10-9 Jackson.
Round 4
Very exciting fourth round. Both fighters rock each other in the beginning. Take down by Henderson, multiple arm bar attempts and some Kimura attempts, Jackson wrenches his arm free both times, pure strength escaping each submission attempt. Later Rampage lands many nice shots, and rocks Dan at the end of the round. I score the round 10-9 Jackson due to him taking away Henderso's steam toward the end of the round.
Round 5
Henderson has to submit or knock out Rampage to win at this point in my opinion. Jackson controls the round early on, superman punch by Henderson followed by a take down. Once again, Jackson takes Henderson's steam away at the end of the fight, and takes down and lands great knees on Henderson. I score the round 10-9 Jackson.
Results
After 5 rounds of action, Jackson is the clear winner, and the judges agree in the favor of Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson. Never a sportsman, as always, Jackson is bold, cocky, and a sore winner. Can't wait for this disgrace to lose this belt. Which will happen fairly soon, with at least two much more challenging fights ahead of him. He can kiss his belt goodbye, because his future as champion looks bleak, thank God this fight was free, because I can't stand to watch Jackson fight.
Comic-Con '07
by AdamStir on Comments
I find the whole thing oddly fascinating. Why would you play a game with little action figures on a table? Why would you dress up like a female video game character when you are infact a dude? To find the answers to these questions and many more we must investigate more closely the social habits of these intriguing people, and I present to you my Comic-Con totally-not-taken-by-me-but- cool-none-the-less-photo-gallery!
The WeirdThe Bad
----------
OK, well all this being said, I still didn't really get an understanding for what the big phenomenon at work here really is, and I have no other option, but to go there myself next year and see for myself. Only then can I truly unlock the magical wonder that is Comic-Con.

I recently found this GameSpot addon/plugin for Firefox, it adds a new tab to your profile page allowing you to create top 5 lists like 'Greatest Games' and 'Best Adventure Games'. I thought it would be fun for us to do this and spread the word of this through GameSpot so more people do it and it is more popular. You can download the addon for Firefox here. I also want to thank metagnome for making the addon, I don't know him but he did a good job with it. If any of you download and use it, tell me I want to see your lists! Also, if you use it, check my lists, so far I have my top 5 Greatest Games.
E3's Hits and Misses
by AdamStir on Comments
E3 is wrapped up for this year and now I'm going to go over the biggest hits, and the biggest misses of this years E3. You can forget about the new RE5 trailer, the PSP redesign, Metal Gear Solid 4, Mario Galaxy, bah I say! I am going to show you the true gems from this year!
Hits
Wii Party Station, this one goes without saying, whats better than playing Mario Party 8 with friends? Doing it while stuffing your face with Cheetos that's what. Even has its own hand dryer to get the nacho cheese off before picking up that expensive Wii mote.
You can keep your Halo 3 this year, the new killer app for the 360 is that Scene It game that comes with four freakin' controllers! I couldn't believe it!
Because the genius behind this move by Sony is indescribable. I wish I could think the way they do! I mean, first cut the price, then completely eliminate that sku and release a whole new one at the original price! Thanks for looking out for the customer Sony, you're FANTASTIC!
Misses
Say goodbye to the booth babes, yes, what we all feared has been realised, they're gone, gone forever. This is just so sad I don't even want to talk about it.
Looked like garbage.
Yah know Nintendo, I was really hoping for alittle more originality from you guys. You are supposed to be revolutionizy stuff or something right? Tsk tsk tsk...
Well in all seriousness guys, E3 was good this year, to be honest, to me, speaking from the standpoint of someone who doesn't actualy get to go to E3, there wasn't that much of a difference, if at all. We saw all the big games, got what we wanted and then some, so I can't really complain. Oh, and I hope you all realized I was being sarcastic, except for the booth babe part, they will be missed :'( .
The Ultimate Fighting Championship 73 --- Stacked
by AdamStir on Comments
Well this card was so full of huge fights I can't even do a write up on them all. I will give the results and some comments on each fight though. Probably one of the best cards, if not the best cards I've ever seen. Huge fights and a thrill to watch.
Heavyweight bout: Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira def.
Heath Herring by unanimous decision after three rounds.
I really wanted Herring to win this fight, but was pleased with the excellent back to back action that went on during the bout.
Lightweight championship bout: Sean Sherk def.
Hermes Franca by unanimous decision after five rounds.
Excellent fight for Sean SHerk, domminated the whole match, this guy is a monster.
Light heavyweight bout: Tito Ortiz and
Rashad Evans fought to a draw after three rounds.
What can I say, I wanted Ortiz to desperately win this fight, now that Liddell has lost his title to Rampage Jackson, who is a self confident fighter to say the least, in my opinion a disgrace to the sport, I really wanted Ortiz to win this fight since he could have a good shot at beating Rampage, but alas, it was a tie, and I see a rematch on the horizons.
Middleweight championship bout: Anderson Silva def.
Nathan Marquardt by technical knockout at 4:50 of the first round.
I was hoping for the upset by Nathan Marquardt, but I knew it wouldn't happen, great striking by Silva throughout.
