Hey everyone,
So I was getting slow wifi speeds on my PS3 so I decided to pickup a new router. I didn't scrimp and grabbed a nice pricey one, the Linksys EA4500, since it was on sale for the same price as the lower end models. Anyway, I get brilliant reception and speeds from my router (thanks to good down/up from my ISP). Here's the thing. I'm doing 15MB down, 0.5 up on a wired connection on my PC.
PS3 wireless? 3MB down, 0.2 up. What's the deal? Netflix only streams "Medium/HD" or "High/SD". On a hardwired connection, I'm getting "High/HD" or "X-High/HD". My streaming settings are turned up on my account so I have no idea what the issue is.
Tl;dr - my PS3 is getting ridiculously slow wireless speeds despite having a very good, properly configured router. How can I fix this? Or... is my PS3's wireless card on its last legs?
I wasn't blown away by the game. I thought it was well-made and fun, but nothing spectacular.
After a few hours w/ friends at an internet cafe, we didn't feel it was worth $60 each to play together (a grand total of $360+tax).
we searched for other online games to play, but we all had that dungeon crawler itch. I discovered Torchlight 2. The underground, non-mainstream, hipster, but-more-importantly-inexpensive Diablo 3 alternative. I'd suggest looking into it if you feel D3 didn't live up to your expectations. If you get your friends together, a 4-pack on Steam is $60 and it nets you both Torchlight 1&2.
TL;DR if you're disappointed by Diablo 3 or can't afford its $60 pricetag, get Torchlight 2 since it's $15.To those of you enjoying the game, please continue to do so. Also, I wish I had $60.
That may be. I think i'm just turning into a more casual gamer because I don't have so much time on my hands anymore.gmoneybball91
This happens to me a lot. Being in university - specifically engineering - I spend a lot of time in front of a computer and without sleep, so I just don't have the energy to play a game. My eyes get tired, my posture suffers, my hands and wrists are tired. I am just not in the mood to play at all.
Not to mention the massive time crunch that comes with growing up. It's nearly impossible to find the hour or two required to actually "get into" a game, especially something in-depth or story-centric like Skyrim or the Witcher 2 or even BioShock.
You keep putting off playing until you've eventually forgotten what to do/where you are/what's going on, but you don't want to restart either because you know you will remember enough that it'll be boring and get stale.
TL;DR:
- work/school computer use prevents fun & comfortable gaming
- hard to find time to sink your teeth into a game
- procrastinate playing a game so long you forget what is going on
After watching the beta videos today on this site I have to he honest....I just dont see it.
I know its just beta but I dont see anything that really stands out....other than bad animations and graphics. I hope for the best but Im just not expecting an amazing game like everyone else.
I just dont get why everyone has already decided its going to be so amazing....just my opinion.

If you're looking at it from an aesthetic perspective, you're not going to see anything fantastic.
The changes are in the gameplay. That's what's got everyone so interested.
They're bringing a lot of changes to the plate and people are curious to see if it'll work.
If you're not excited now, don't sweat it. Just give it time and see what happens.
As far as difficulty goes, i find that alot of video games are extremly easy now. For example, COD used to be difficult on veteran, but now its a breeze. Halo has never been to difficult in a group, Even if you play a game on normal there should be some chalenge to it. Ive gotten so used to it that i dont have the pacience to play hard games anymore which is a bad thing. Anyone else notice this?

Maybe we're just getting better at games?
But they are, in a sense, getting easier. I mean, they don't require tons of memorization and split-second timing and there are checkpoints and savepoints and reloads.
I guess they're becoming more about experiences and you have to resort to "making" them difficult.
You pretty much have all the great games, there's also Space Marine and, if you find the combat enjoyable (there's a demo) Kingdoms of Amalur. Also, if you have any Source game (not sure if Dark Messiah qualifies for the Source SDK), there's a great mod Age of Chivalry (its devs are also making a standalone game).

Pirates, Vikings and Knights on the Source Engine is also super fun.
You don't have to play on PC exclusively just playing on the platform in general.

Always money. I wouldn't play on PC if I didn't already have a gaming one before going to university.
I had a hard time playing BF3 using mouse and keyboard as I found it confusing. I'm planning to buy a controller for this game only as I play fine with the other games I have which are non shooters and don't require fast reflexes.

You might hate BF3 with a controller on PC. Usually FPS's on PC don't have the same "aim assist" that console shooters do.
I play with a controller because it's more ergonomic, and especially if there's native support for it. Games like Skyrim or Orcs Must Die or Assassin's Creed or pretty much any other multiplatform game I play with a controller.
