Also, the imam of their neighborhood mosque tweeted that he was a family friend, and never saw the twins pray with them.

The dispute was that the parents barred the twins from traveling to Syria to join ISIS. And the group brainwashed the twins into the belief that killing them was righteous (which, to note, is not permitted in Islam given any circumstance.)

I'm quoting this to further show you how it's obvious the guy is abusing your kindness. He's not your friend, he sounds like someone who has studied your habits and realized that you're some kinda push over who can be exploited.

Just because he talks to you doesn't mean he's your friend. This is a good learning experience. There are alot of people like that who couldn't care less if they exploit people. Be smart. Stay acquainted with him, but do not under any circumstances assume he's a close friend. Lessen your contact with him once you get your stuff back, and try to come up with excuses to not let him abuse your (perceptive) push-over tendencies. Grow a back bone and learn how to talk back in a respectful but stern manner. Talk to your folks about what he's doing to you, I'm sure you'll feel deja vu after reading this.

Above all else, do not waste your time caring about what he did or what he thought of said incident. I bet you he couldn't care less about what you think nor what you do.

You'd have a prejudice against me and lel even if Islam didn't exist. It all stems from race, and that's disregarding the Sunni Shia debate. So, I wouldn't see it worth the time to discuss with you such things. Neither should lel. (latest debate I hear is that the Islamic Revolution of the 70's corrupted your Persian roots. And "Arab'd" your culture.)

I generally find it disgusting that such a debate on religion is taking place, when over 100 innocent kids were slaughtered. I also find this incident irrefutable proof that terrorism is politics at its core. Religion is the scapegoat, and always has been.
