Question to everyone, my xbox 360 standard warranty expired last year, and recently my xbo has been making some funky noises. I wanted to know if even after the standard warranty will my xbox be reapired for free if it gets the RROD or E74 error? I have an older Jasper Chip model by the way. If its not covered and microsoft dont cover RROD's for free anymore due to the new slim, would it be fine to crack it open and give it the old dust air can treatment?

I know the subject is about a console and this is a PC hardware thread but I think you guys might have more knowledge. My standard warranty on my xbox 360 expired last year in march, and recently its been making some pretty funky noises when i turn it on and when I run a game. It used to be realtively cool, but now gets warm during gameplay. I think it might be due to dust and I want to crack it open and clear out the dust, will and air can do? also the standard warranty is expired however IDK if my xbox 360 is covered by RROD or E74 considereing this was purchased back in 2009. Help me out guys, give me your input.
Also quicknote, it is a Jasper chip model, and would it be at all possible to upgrade the fans in this xbox, like some small 80mm fans?
Hello PC community, I am an Illustrator/Animation student studying traditional and or 2D animation and I was looking of buying a new computer. However in my search for a new computer it seems that most computer vendors really suck. I did however find DigitalStorm to be quite awesome, however they are a bit pricey but I have heard many good things about them, A+ rating from the better buisiness Bereau and an outstanding warranty, including free upgrades (obviously not the parts). But as I have said, they are a bit pricey, so my freind offered to build one for me. Please don't jsut tell me to build m own, I don't want to, and last time I tried to upgrade my computer I ran into many problems that I was not experienced with or didn't know what I was doing, so my freind is building it for me. SO to the point, I need help trying to figure out what parts I should consider using.
First off I do want to play games on my computer, I am mostly a console gamer, but if I am going to be building a good PC I maight as well take advantage of the good hardware right? So yes I want to play games on it like BF3 or Diablo 3 and such. As far as programs go I will be using ToonBoom animation software which isnt all that demanding, but I will be using after effects, premeire CS5, and Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop extensively for my work and assignments, So I need a machine that can handle games and all that content creation software flawlessly.
I was thinking of Going with an i7 2600k especially for Adobe premiere, as well as a GTX 570 considering that is the lowest GPU is effectively supports. As far as evrything else I need help with. Lets put the budget at around 1,500 USD give or take. Dont include a Monitor I have two of those already, but I would like to extensively research one before buying it seeing as I will be doing video and digital art. Please give me some advice, and be courteous, no snobbih remarks please, i had problem on another forum. Thanks guys.
The 90's > now. Better music, better games, better books/movies, better society (in my country).
My opinion, don't really care for everybody else opinion so don't even bother. :)

you do realize every older generation says this about the generation that comes after it. Its the song that never ends...90's kid show refference FTW!!! (lamb chops
Like others have said, $400 would be the max I would pay for any next-gen console. I have a feeling that the next box will be the most expensive and the most powerful. Hoping the Wii-U is $300 or $350 and the PS4 is $350 or $400.

If its more than 400 dollars im not buying until like 3 years in, theres still tons of games I havn't played from last gen or this gen.
[QUOTE="AkimboBFGNinja"]And we are supposed to care about this why? :?People will **** and moan and laugh at the 360's lineup, and granted we only have 1 exclusive for the core audience, (Halo 4), but despite having only one core game, all the other casual games will most likely sell. you guys do realize that Kinect sports, Just dance, Zumba fitness, and Kinect adventures sold millions of copies right? So with that being said you nerds can make fun of it all you want and pretend that no one outside of your comfort bubble plays these games, everyone else is going to enjoy those games. Same goes for Move, if you **** and complain about move owners and cry wolf "OH TEH CASUALZZzzS!!ELEVEN!!!" stfu and stop crying, everyone is entitled to game the way they want to game.

You dont have to care, its about realizing that Kinect and move games are leitimate games that people play. So making threads scoffing/poo pooing all over next years line up is absurd.
