lol, that was just a joke. Why would i want to punch your friend? it just looked like a good place to be stupid, so i went for it.

not funny at all

and thats the reason why i doesnt make sense too discuss with you ;)

Please, don't try and act all high and mighty. I'm the one with little confidence, and I can easily say your argument is at least 25% less mature than mine, and at around 75% more flawed.

Edit#2: Also, people around here won't hesitate to put you in your place. While not everything I say around here is correct, the things that are has earned me SOME respect.

Alternative answer: A bullet to the brain.

The Wii is cool and all, but i don't want EVERYTHING motion-controlled.... I enjoy diversity.

I also like drinking a lot, and barely moving my body at all to control games. (And I'm 176lbs at 6 foot 0 inches, FYI lol)

Can you describe your friend's face, then send me a picture of it and see if I've guessed correctly? Don't worry, I have a dictionary if I get stuck.habkeinbock

Oh, no, i realize that. I'm only trying to point out to him that his nostalgia is clouding his judgement. I knwo that it has nothing to do with atmosphere. But you gotta give me credit. And honestly, I'm not cocky. I'm actually insecure and i have very little confidence. But that one-liner of mine crushed his entire arguement. please? lol

Give me credit for that, and I'll buy you a drink via pay-pal, then i can finally get off of here and eat something. lol

But if we are referring to atmosphere, then wouldn't that make your comment irrelevant? Not to lower your self-esteem, but this just seems to be the case. And trust me, satisfaction will only truly come if the other person admits defeat. However, I will say that you have done a good job defending yourself.

ehh.... I dont THINK so, though I'm not positive. In a way, atmosphere(and the quality of) is pretty subjective, and based on a persons opinion... So with increased technology and... hmm.. like a bigger "sand box" with way better "tools", it could be said that (as far as videogames) the capability to create a better atmosphere increases as time and technology progresses. Now, will it? I don't know. But the capability should, logically speaking.

Oh, and thankyou very much. It's quite difficult to receive a compliment in a place like this, so I didn't take it for granted. ;)

Mario needs someone to put a silver bullet in his skull, a stake through the heart, cremated, sealed into a barrel filled with cement, and dumped into the bermuda triangle.

But I don't think there's any chance that Nintendo is going to let their No.1 cashcow go. Poor Mario.....his teats must be really sore.

Last part of that post made me LOL for realz.

Wow, I'm pretty impressed with that post. I pretty much wrapped up most of the thread, and all of the arguements of this guy with this: "AS FAR AS VIDEOGAMES, THE CAPABILITY of creating a better atmosphere is increased as time and technology progresses. The CAPABILITY." Meaning no more subjective nostalgic, opinionated crap. That is 100% true.

Everyone pack up your bags, time to go home.

Edit: I'm not talking about the whole "Wii being garbage because it's graphics aren't top notch" part of the thread. In fact, I disagree with that. I'm talking about the garbage comparisons, opinions, and nostalgia-oozing crap coming from the guy that's gone on for page after page in this thread.

AlexDemise

Problem with that is that "which would be better if released today?" has NOTHING to do with atmosphere. The excellence of the atmosphere back then is the same as the excellence of the atmosphere now.

[QUOTE="WasntAvailable"] What about fallout1? And which one is better? and why? If BOTH games had been releases TODAY, which one would be better and why? Don't get sarcastic with me, you're only making yourself look foolish by REFUSING to look at anything at any point of view other than your own. AS FAR AS VIDEO GAMES: The CAPABILITY of creating a better atmosphere is increased as time and technology progesses. The CAPABILITY. That's damn near fact. So you're WRONG. And about the zelda stuff, ONCE AGAIN, your ability to realistically and open mindedly look at things is being influenced by nostalgia, AKA your own fond memories of the game.Dragonblade01

I've been here for years, and I've never "owned" anyone or ended a thread. Can someone give me props for that? (as far as MY argument with this guy. I still see others that have yet to be solved.)

Come on, i need a good pat on the back.

[QUOTE="AlexDemise"] If you believe that, then tell me how 2d games using sprites can provide a better atmosphere than Mass Effect, which is a "believeable" science fiction master piece as far as visuals, the strength of imagination used to create them, and the atmosphere. Or the post-apocylptic (pardon my spelling) wastelands of fallout? How could a 2d game using sprites depict the world of fallout 3 better than it already has?AlexDemise

fallout 1 ?

maybe some people played zelda a link too the past and remember the rain at the beginning and how you feel or the boss batles with the hectic music or if you running out of life !

feelings done in 2D ;)
