@Zombie8814: Its not the cutscenes. Its, the fact that the game itself is too cinematic. It holds your hand and tell you what to do rather than being an actual video game and letting you do what you want. Theres all these fixed cameras, set pieces, climbing, and walky talkies that it becomes a chore.
It always baffles me no one ever mentions Resident Evil. Those games where always cinematic to me with those cinematic camera angels. I love games with cinematic appeal but some games do it too much.
However, I'm sick of games trying to be like movies. Why can't I have control of my characters? This is why uncharted is overrated. A bunch of set pieces and explosions don't make a story. Nor does it make a game.
I miss when games where games. And I don't mean dragons lair. Giving games button prompts should never be considered cinematic. I wish we could go back to the days of Crash Bandicoot. Games with real gameplay and fun. Rewarding games.
Mass Effect feels too much like a movie. All you do is talk to people and shoot stuff.
Heres how you make the future of video games. Make them smarter and more dynamic. Not scripted like wrestling. No wonder why stupid people have ran to Multiplayer.
I never seen a scary Resident Evil game besides number 2 and the remake. Resident Evil 4 by any standards is a generic shooter with survival horror elements. If Doom where released today it would be considered a survival horror game. These are the facts people. Remember it.
Resident Evil 4 is a fun game. But by little means is it ever really scary.
