Vertigo 1, Over and Out

I just finished Descent II: The Vertigo Series and scored 2,074,300 points. The final boss was not as intimidating as I imagined. It only took one blast of the Omega Cannon combined with an Earthshaker Missile to take him down. I'll probably take a break from Descent for now, but at some point I aim to return and beat it on Difficulty Level 2 (aka Rookie).

Descent I Complete

I finally completed the first Descent. I died fighting the final boss about 20 times. Nonetheless, I perservered and pulled out the win. I will now attempt to beat the Vertigo Series, and after that I really don't know. Maybe I'll play them all again on Rookie.

Father's Day

For Father's Day, I got my dad a Nintendo Wii. He's been talking about it for a while, and the rest of the family decided to get it for him. He's having a blast with it, and I have to say the Wii Sports is quite a workout.

Descent II Complete

After years of trying, I finally completed Descent II. I scored 2,817,100 points, of which 500,000 came from ship bonuses (I believe it's 10,000 points per life). I should point out that it was on Trainee mode, but at some point I intend to beat it on higher difficulties. First I plan to back up and finish the original, then I'll play the Vertigo Series expansion.

End of Spring Break

Well, it's been quite a while since I last posted (mostly due to college), but a lot's been going on. I now have a franchise on Madden '07 because my Memory Card that contained my '03 data went bad. However, I only got through one season because of school. I did win the Super Bowl, however. I've mostly been screwing around with emulators while at school. Now my spring break is over and I'll be heading back to school tomorrow.

Thanksgiving Break

I'm back from school for Thanksgiving, and I am attempting to complete my 7th season of Madden 2003. I've only been home a day and I've already played nine games. I should also note that a friend of mine gave me his copy of Madden 2007 because he has '08 and doesn't need it anymore. Therefore, I have made the executive decision that if I fail to reach the Super Bowl this season, I will end my '03 franchise and start one on '07. I'm 9-0 at this point, and things are looking good. More on this later!

Madden 2003 Update: Season Six

With just a short time remaining before going to college, I decided to play the sixth year of my Madden franchise with the New Orleans Saints. I'll give you some backstory: I went 14-2 the previous year and lost the NFC Divisional Round to the Rams. They went on to Super Bowl XLI and lost to the Dolphins 35-15, which is as far from what really happened as you could get. This year, everything was going right for me. There were some injuries and a few close games, but I finished the regular season 16-0. In the NFC Divisional Round, I dominated the New York Giants 43-14. All that was standing in the way of a date with the Tennessee Titans in Super Bowl XLII was...the St. Louis Rams *cue Star Wars evil empire music* who were second-best in the NFC. I led 16-14 at halftime, but an unfortunate fumble led to a Rams touchdown. They failed on the 2-point conversion, so the score was 20-16. I marched down the field looking to score, but I was denied on 4th-and-goal at the 1. Eventually I would score, but a close call at the goal line took away my 2-point conversion. With less than 2 minutes to go, the score was 22-20, and I had to keep the Rams out of field goal range. Sadly, my pass defense cracked, and I gave up a 36-yard pass. With six seconds left, they kicked the winning field goal, and I walked away a 23-22 loser. The Rams went on to win the Super Bowl 41-18. *Sigh* Well, I'll be going to college on Thursday so I won't be playing many video games for awhile. Thought I'd put this up for your reading pleasure.

Warcraft III Humans vs. Orcs Update

After taking a bit of a break from playing HvO on Battle.net, my Level 30 Priest has been in top form, raking in 3 Killing Sprees over the past 6 games. I'm currently on a 5-game win streak, tying my personal best, and my Win-Loss record is 20-6. Now, if only I could do that well on Ladder games... I've actually started playing Ladders again as the Undead, although I have yet to put two wins together (but that's okay, because I haven't put two losses together either) and my record there is 3-3. More from the Frozen Throne later!

Almost the End of June

Hard to believe that almost 1/3 of summer vacation is already gone. Sigh...anyway, in the past two weeks since my last post, I have finished my third playthrough of FF1 and I am now in possession of FF5. I'm looking for the Earth Crystal at this moment, and I'm liking the GBA version much more than the PSX version. I've also started playing Warcraft III again on Battle.net, though I only do custom games. My favorite is "Humans vs. Orcs," and I've gotten quite good at it. My record is 9-3.

Ducks Win!!!

Let's give a massive w00t to the Anaheim Ducks for their first Stanley Cup victory! I saw the decisive (well, not really, the score was 6-2) Game 5 while on vacation in Seattle. Congratulations Anaheim; now I can say that I've seen a team I regularly follow win a championship.

On another note, I've started my third playthrough of Final Fantasy on GBA. I randomly selected characters, and I ended up with a Fighter, Red Mage, and two Black Mages. I named them John, Paul, George, and Ringo.8) I just retrieved the Earth Crystal about 20 minutes ago.
