Darn straight, Morgoth rocks. Good job so far everyone on posting these pics, very cool. The LOTR ones aren`t really GOW related, and even with the intent of possible tie-ins they aren`t necessarily fitting, but I don`t care, they`re just plain cool, especially the Balrog, Withking, and Sauron. And in case I post more in this thread(doubtful since I don`t really have any pictures to add), you can edit my posts to include pics GMG, especially if they are LOTR ones.
That`s not the official box art?! Kuso!! It was pretty sweet looking, oh well. Of the 5 in the poll I voted for number 4, because although I liked 2 and 3, 2 seemed a little too hand drawn to be the box art to me, didn`t quite feel right, and to focus on the Griffin battle as the box art doesn`t seem right to me. The gameplay for that will rock, but it doesn`t seem like something to be the first thing a person sees when they are introduced to GOWII. And 3 seemed a little too bright and shiny for me, it was cool, and I like the blazing symbol, but it is kind of a turn off, too bright and doesn`t really show anything unless you look closely, a little too offensive to the eyes. While 4 might be a little too simplistic, especially for people unfamiliar with GOW, it is still sweet looking, and it is dark and brooding, while not being too dark.
I know that the PS3 has online capabilities and a store, but from what I`ve read here on Gamespot, it is really not as good as the XBOX one. And, since I don`t use online gaming very much if at all, the free system with the PS3 will probably be enough for me.
I am planning on buying a PS3 when I get back from Japan, and a Wii as well. I might eventually get an X360. I don`t hate XBOX, but there is a bunch of PS2 titles I still want to play and already 2 PS3 titles I will really want to, those two are DMC4 and Ninja Gaiden Sigma. I will buy a Wii because it is cheap, looks fun, and it will have Metroid Prime 3, nuff said. The Playstation family has the most games that I want to play at the moment, so I am going to have faith in the PS3, all systems have "meh" games at launch as well as a few bugs, and those two problems should be minimized by around February, I hope. Also the main reason for an XBOX/360 is that it so far has the best online multiplayer games/system, but I am not yet willing to pay monthly for online gaming, I usually focus on the single-player aspect of a game, and if I want to do multiplayer there is Battlefield 1942 for PC, or I can invite a friend over.
I think a large double bladed axe would be pretty cool for Kratos. I realize that there is the possibility that the Earth weapon is an axe, but this would be more like a mixture of the Blade of Artemis and the Barbarian King`s Hammer. And interesting twist to it would be that you can throw it at any non-boss enemy(there`d be some other exceptions as well of course), and it would impale them up against the wall, and they`d bleed to death, while you mopped up his buddies with the Blades of Athena, and you`d get a large amount of Red Orbs when the guy died for doing this. Also, put a long chain at the end of it, so you could do another special attack, that throwing one would be L2(or L1, whichever activates the weapons in GOWII) and square, the triangle one would be you swinging the chain for a bit, the longer you hold triangle the wider it goes, and then when you release it would do a large sweep, damaging everything within the circle, but you would have to take the time to pull in the chain afterwards to balance it. The X function would be a lobbing the axe at a certain enemy, and you can then pull that enemy to you and use it as a shield against the other enemy attacks. This is just my thoughts. I like the ideas mentioned earlier, and though I would like a large, long sword, I think an axe would be cool, and would actually fit Kratos somewhat well, since it is generally thought of as an execusion and brutality weapon.
Hello, everyone. My name is J. Wyatt Seagren, and I love God of War. Obviously, otherwise I wouldn`t have joined this union. Anyway, I find it slightly embarrasing to say I do not actually own this game. I rented it for 5 days and beat it twice, first time on Easy(I wanted to be sure I finished the game since I was renting it.), then on Normal. I also finished the Challenge of the Gods after beating Easy. I did this a little over a year ago. Why have I not bought the game yet? Well, for the past 8 months I`ve been in Japan on a foreign exchange program. Though I plan on buying it right after I get back and playing Spartan and God mode. And I also plan on buying GOWII when it comes out, because from everything I have seen, it will be awesome. Sorry if this seems like too much info.
