On the latest 1Up Yours, Shane revealed that
at TGS, they will be showing ENEMIES for the first time!

N'Gai Croal revealed another interesting mechanic...you can make the levels races, with ONLINE LEADER BOARDS posted for levels that you create! Not only that, you can assign a moving object (or maybe even an enemy) as the "finish line" in your level, so you could make a level where the end-goal is chasing something down! Amazing...

This will be awesome.

All this stuff revealed around the 1:44:15 mark after N'Gai talks about Everyday Shooter... 1:48:00 or so.

Here's some ideas I had for making a LBP level:

1) Obviously make a next gen Mario/ Sonic level. Everyone's gonna make that.

2)A systemwars arena level (ala Smash Brothers or Small Arms). Choose one of four factionss (cows, sheep, lemmings and hermits) and run around shooting LOLWTF missles at each other.


3) A huge tower level inspired by the construction yard chase scene in Casino Royale. Yougoing vertical all the time. A lot of platforming and dodging traps and quick puzzles in a very tall structure that takes about 3 minutes to get to the top. Maybe some flying birds to dodge.

4) The opposite of this is a level where you go DOWN all the time, like an underground maze. I personally will make it look like Prince of Persia ****c. :)

5) A level based around Mario vs Donkey Kong i.e. you have 3 minutes to navigate a stage, get past the puzzles and obtain 3 items. For those who never played this game on the Gameboy, the difference between this and a ****c mario level is that instead of one long run to the finish line, you run back and forth throughout the level activating puzzles, etc.

6) Levels based around taking down bosses.

For example, I want to make levels mimicing the boss fights in the MGS series. One level will have you fighting against someone who's nearly invisible like Psycho Mantis, just by using near transparant textures. Another will be fighting against The Boss in a huge field of grass and flowers. Or fighting against a Metal Gear (since you can make vehicles)! Or even better, fight huge bosses like Master Chief running around like Metal Slug shooting at a huge Scarab. Or forget shooting enemies and just platform-fight against IMMENSE bosses like in Shadow of the Colossus! And since the game uses custom soundtracks, I'll just rip soundtracks from GalbadiaHotel.com. :)

What do you think? What are your ideas?
