@luciferous: I am watching the anime, but to be fair: They could have added these into the games story as well. It feels like you miss a lot if you don't watch'em and that's a pain.

Could be interesting to have just one game for both, your handheld and your stationary console. TRhe concept is not that new, but so far it did not work out, did it? Biggest question would be how the games are being optimized for both usages. I mean, tiny HD-text on a handheld sure would be a pain (for example).

I miss the times, when just playing a single game was enough for its whole story. :( I feel like I am missing a lot if I don't watch this, the anime series, etc. Oh boy...

Biggest issue: not for Windows Phone. I do think WP is way underrated for some developers...

@Tirnoth:By "The disappointed people are the loudest of the bunch" I meant those doing drama about how idiotic gamers are who still enjoy the game and fail to see censorship in every bush. Sorry for not pointing that out.

But as you said, there are two sides and stuff. I totally sign your comments last paragraph. :)

@assurhaddon: The fog sure is one of the weird parts and it does have that kind of inconsistency, because it's just in the movie, not the battle. But it's not being removed entirely and it's made by the makers in the first place (with some doubtful arguments), not because the law or politics wanted it to be changed in order to get the game released. This clearly are not the ways of real censorship for me, but I guess we don't have to get much more into this. There are always two sides, no matter what the topic is. :)

@Tirnoth:>>Despite my disappointments, I still bought this collector's edition for this game and I do enjoy this a lot, but that doesn't mean I shouldn't be able to express my disappointment. I think I have the right.<<

I never said you are not free and don't have any right to express your disappointment, nor did I come up with any money argument. I think I mentioned more than once being disappointed is understandable and fine - I am too, at least up to some point. However, it is a fact the game is altered but not censored in the way some people claim it is. That's the biggest issue here. The drama is similar to the changes Ninja Theory made on the PS4 and ONE versions of DmC. They changed a scene in the intro and earned a shotstorn for "self-censorship". The whole topic became just as touchy as the "miiversity" and whatnot and it is a pain to see most people just focus on finding arguments for starting these things over and over again...

@assurhaddon: As far as changed dialogue goes: I think it's good in Bravely Second, because you had to replay the missions about three times to get the best ending in the japanese Version. After the altered dialogue we sure miss some of the text (even voiced text) but we don't have to play the missions that much.

Anyways, #FE is not missing anything, just on the optical side and one DLC, so we got pretty much the whole package, which is more than we got with Fates. It is a bummer, but at the same time I am not missing anything that does justify the drama. Hell, you even see Tsubasa in her bikini in one of her moves, have bouncing boobs and even more japanese weirdness... If there is something to bother it the inconsistency the game was modified.

Oh well, maybe it's like always. The disappointed people are the loudest of the bunch and that's why it seems to be just this one topic when you read about #FE.

@assurhaddon:True about the regionlock. This way YOU can decide what you want to play... For example the sh***load of games we never get. -.-

Japan does have toned down Resident Evil/Biohazard in terms of violence. There are no decapitations and such. Then again one may ask if that is needed to experience the full game.

The God of War example from my other post is related to changes in Germany (not sure about other releases). Some of the kills are toned down, for example they changed the camera to make everything happen off screen.

And the list can be way longer. Most old Castlevanias got their christian cross-symbols removed outside Japan as well as no bare breasted statues. The japanese manji symbol is being removed almost entirely in western releases, for example in the very japanese "Mystical Ninja"-Series. Fou-Lu in Breath of Fire 4 is not cutting off Soniels head outside Japan. You cannot create naked riders in BMX XXX in the US-Release. Siren Blood Curse is pretty much toned down in the US-Release. Until Dawn got a removed death in Japan.

But these examples are different from #FE. There is no replacement for the altered things. It's just being removed.

That being said... What about No More Heroes? What is the version the creators wanted? The US Version with lots of blood, or every other version with black particles and implied, but not shown, deaths?

@valwinz: It is made for "kids". It's rated B (age 12) in Japan, but underage kids in Bikinis, looking at dubious images of their boss and doing exactly what they saw in these images, etc. sure can be a big issue. This, plus the typical "boobies are bad" from the US maybe be a reason for changing (not removing!) some stuff to maintain a rather low rating.
