PES 2018 is getting better reviews because it genuinely is the better gameplay. I will buy both, I always do. I'll enjoy both, as always. But the better gameplay is PES 2018.
The process of improving the health of the game shouldn't impact the release of content that some of us paid for as part of the season 2 pass. I love the game and play it a ton which is why I supported it beyond just purchasing the game in the first instance. Seems like the tourney element is taking precedence over delivering on season 2 content in a timely manner. That's without mentioning the complete absence of the Poland map.
I've always considered FIFA to be the superior game on the current generation of consoles but this year, the better gameplay - in my opinion - is PES. Maybe that's because it feels much more fresh and FIFA feels like been-there-played-that but the PES control and fluidity is beautiful and they have truly refined the gameplay almost to perfection. I'm sure whichever game you play you will ultimately enjoy either.
