Wow, it WAS released in 2003. This is amazing. It must have been back in the late 90s or 2000-2001 when it was announced as vaporware. Surely some people must remember that occurring? I can't believe that it was released all this time and I never once heard it discussed in my circle. Thanks, heh.

Are there any online GOOD MMORPG games. . . [?]TacoLover123
You arguably could have asked the above question and still received a flat "no." Whoever mentioned Horizons, great call; it's the only MMORPG that has featured playable dragons, so far as I've heard. Huge qualification: Wasn't Horizons complete vaporware? I thought the project was abandoned years ago, back around 2005. Did they actually pick development back up and release a bonafide trial? The game was extremely ambitious, as I recall, and I wasn't surprised at all when they decided to scrap. I am surprised, therefore, to hear that they actually released a trial.

Really? I found that to be the easiest Zelda game I've played. Do you remember which parts were difficult for you? Great game at any rate! ;p

Ah, I guess I'll give my hardest PC game rather than a console game. Company of Heroes kicked my ass. I think I'm an above-average RTS player and generally a skilled gamer overall, but COH was extremely difficult. Moreover, I'd be lying if I blamed the interface, controls, etc. for the difficulty; the game just had very deep strategy and required the player to be decisive. Definitely knocked my ego down a notch. ;]

Try Empire Earth Gold, which is the first title and the expansion: http://www.amazon.com/Empire-Earth-Gold-Pc/dp/B000083JX6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=software&qid=1247000883&sr=8-1 It's also extremely cheap, as you can see in the above link.

Dungeon Siege lacks imagination. The storyline is skeletal, the character development is limited, and the combat is repetitive & dull. The game had some impressive graphics for its time, and I give it due credit for its ability to immerse players in its alternate reality. Other than that, one cannot say much for the game. It pales in comparison to the greats.

I have to confine this to a genre. The genre I've played most is the RPG genre (a notoriously easy genre, to be sure). The hardest RPG I've played would probably be Beyond the Beyond for the original Playstation. It had some hellishly difficult puzzles that pushed me to the limits of my patience. That said, it wasn't a particularly great game. Not even in my top 5.

My MMORPG rant: The MMORPG genre has devolved into trash. What was once a promising genre filled with creativity and verve has turned into a genre operated by a few massive companies who have mastered the market and its demand. That demand, by large, is for risk-free, repetitive monster-whacking. Hence the threat of -forced- human interaction has been all but removed from most mainstream MMORPGs. It's little wonder we're left with the bland remnants of once-great titles such as Ultima Online. True, we have the rare occasion when companies try to harken to better days. Darkfall, in my view, was supposed to be the savior of the genre. Predictably, it failed to deliver. How could it, given its developer's size and the constitution of the market demand? The large, highly-skilled, and greatly-funded companies produce games that appeal to the lowest common denominator, and they do so admirably. Witness WOW and its commercial success. Darkfall simply doesn't have the resources--either on the development side or the demand side--to blossom into a true competitor. And it certainly hasn't signalled a shift in the genre. So when I read your thread title, I alternatively grimaced and chuckled. I know of no respectable title with the mix of attributes you listed. I myself have opted out of the genre altogether in pursuit of more fruitful--and less frustrating--gaming.
