Could you guys check out this card and tell me what you think of the value? http://ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=38869&vpn=BFGE98512GTGE&manufacture=BFG%20Technologies It says that it is designed to use 30% less power, and doesn't even need a 6-pin power connector (I DO have one), but it gives comparable performance to any other GeForce 9800GT. Could there be any downside to this? Such as cooling issues, life expectancy, "hidden" performance issues, etc.
Argh! It looks like the e4700 (the Core 2 Duo) just went out of stock. I found the same item at NCIX but it is around $190, compared to $160 at NewEgg. http://ncix.com/products/?sku=29369&vpn=BX80557E4700&manufacture=Intel I keep going back-and-forth between performance and value. Help!?
Here is my motherboard: http://www.legendmicro.com/store/5105_Intel-D945GCCRG1-Gateway-4006181R-Board---Pull-D945GCCRG1.lmsp I am using an eMachines T5088. I know it's a crappy computer...but as I said, I can't buy a new motherboard, let alone a new computer. Question: Could someone please tell me if I will have to flash my BIOS, if I install either CPU listed above? I don't know how to find that out...
I want to upgrade my CPU, but my motherboard has several limitations: (1) 800MHz bus, (2) Intel only, and (3) LGA775 socket. My current CPU is a Pentium 4 (3.2ghz). I don't have enough to buy a new motherboard and a brand new CPU, so I am looking to spend $100-180 (Canadian) for either a Dual-Core or Core 2 Duo. - There are 2 specific ones I'm looking at right now: - http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116076 http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115045 - Would there be a substantial performance difference between the two? And are there any better CPUs at 800MHz?
