I got a plastic card back with my 360 after it returned from its repair trip to texas. Its a free gold membership for 1 or 3 months, cant remember which. Anywho, do they have like an expiration date? Because its been sitting on my dresser. I can't really use it because I don't have the right type of internet. Supposedly the cable company will be putting cable internet on my road some time next year. Will that free trial card still be good? And what is the new "dash board" like? Is it any better than the old one? (i have the old one).

I wasn't even aware DLC cost money. I don't have live. So, your telling me, you buy a half assed $40-$60 game, then you must pay additional fees for stuff to make said crappy game better? Stuff that should have been on the disk in the first plac, before it was on the shelves.
What a rip off. And you Canadians get free health care and stuff, so quit whining. Be thankful M$ even bothered to market the 360 and LIVE in Canada.
I have it, and I don't know what to think of the game. The space battles aren't what I thought they'd be, and there are huge mistakes in the design of capital ships. For one, we all know that the Star Destroyers have their hangar bay on the bottom. But when I get in a TIE Interceptor and vaporize those stupid X-Wings, it's just awsome. The game has really cool explosion graphics. But for some stupid reason, they did away with the first-pirson view of vehicles and the ability to lay flat on the ground. The heavy troopers rocket launcher is now actually very useful and deadly, and playing as Darth Maul and slaughtering hundreds of clones is a rewarding experience.
There are many innaccuracies and anachronisms in the game. Super Battle droids are way to small, and laser colors on many vehicles are incorrect. All the units of the Republic, except the regular trooper. are of different divisions than of the 501st. Tumera Morrison, they guy who did the voices of the clones in the movies, and the first game, is no longer used except for death screams and space battles. Now it's some corny american rambo guy. Playing as certain teams on certain maps means almost certain defeat. An example is on Endor. You have a hard time seeing the Rebels as the blend in, not to mention the tiny ewoks. And your AT-ST's always follow the same path- walking into the swinging logs of doom. The new battle of Geonosis map SUCKS. No more Gunships, and only 1 AT-TE, and the hailfire droids cant lock on to stuff anymore. And I'm not sure if it's just my machine, a 360 using original Xbox emulating software, but on Naboo, the AI who control and spawn from the post to the right of the palace, always congregate up against the wall by the palace and try to run through it. Unless killed or ordered to follow you, they stay their the whole game and miss out on the action, which can be detrimental to their team.
Aside from all this, it's good parts outnumber the bad parts. So many improvements have been made to weaopons and vehicles, the ability to sprint, deployable turrets, heros playable, improved graphics and overall AI skills (they take cover more often and talk smack to the enemies, rebels even shoot the Imps after they die with their pistols). And again, it might be my 360 doing this, but the graphics on the Xbox version seem much, much better than the PS2 version, which I also played.
I highly recomend this game. Being an old veteran of SWBF 1 on Xbox LIVE when it first came out, I'm sure the online play must be absolutely awsome.
What exactly do the repair people in Mcallen, Texas do to 360"s?
When mine RROD'd I had it repaired for free, and since I got it back it's been one tough SOB: Running it 3 days non stop (though I keep it elevated off the ground with rope), taking it everywhere I go, I dropped it several times, one time I tripped and landed on it with my knee. And to deface its physical appearance someone wrote "I (heart symbol) Ponies!" with Sharpie on the front, it fell off my cousins dresser and made a loud grinding noise. I thought "well, there goes my Halo disk. Upon inspection, the disk was unscathed, but the console displayed the RROD when turned back on. Turned it off, back on, it was fine. It even seems to let out less heat from the exaust port, although the power brick gets hotter than before it was sent in.
I read that to prevent further RROD's caused by over heating, they coat the interal circuitry with some sort of sylicon to hold it in place and keep it from warping. Is that true?
Wait, why can't you download the maps? You don't have to have a paid subscription to download maps, you just need internet. You only need a subscription to play online.Englando_IV
If thats true, I still won't be able too. I only have one ehternet port on this PC, and the internet cord is plugged into it. Unless I can some how save the Legendary Map pack or the free Heroic Map pack in a file first, then "stream" it to the Box.
Cortana of Halo 3, due to the pointless interuptions during combat. As well as the Oracle. In the end of the game he turns on you, kills Johnson, and shoots at you and Arbiter with a huge, powerful laser beam.
ALL THIS TIME FOLLOWING YOU AROUND IN THE GAME, HE CAN'T USE THAT SAME LASER BEAM TO HELP YOU FIGHT THE COVENANT?!?!?!? No. Instead he floats around, getting in your way, and mumbling about The Ark and Installation 04 and The Parasite and The Reclaimer...
My god...
[QUOTE="Apartment_Trash"]I got this white thing called and Xbawks three-hundred and sixty. It makes a good space heater for my room and a large heavy object to be used as a weapon.atm0073
Wtf?
Anyway, you can't copy pictures directly to the hard drive, but you can copy music, but only by means of a CD. If you set up a media connection on your console via an Ethernet cable and an appropriate program (Windows Media Player 11, TVersity, etc.), you can stream videos, music, and pictures to your console. I'm guessing you have a router, no? If so, to set up a media connection, you'll first need to hook up your Xbox 360 to the router with the Ethernet cable, and your PC to your router as well with another router. If you don't have a router (though I'm sure you do) I believe you can still connect to your PC by inserting both ends of a single Ethernet port to your Xbox and PC. For more info, Google "Xbox 360 media sharing how to" or something similar. As for the Halo 3 maps, the only way to get them is through the Marketplace, and you can't "not have the Marketplace", every that has an XBL account has access to it. You can, however, have limited access to it, if you don't have a purchased subscription to Xbox Live (which is the case for you).
I've done the CD thing, but it only goes so far. Plus, now I'm out of blank CD's. I don't have a router, I have a small DSL modem. So I'll have to get all the pictures and music I want, and save them on my PC first, because it's only got one ethernet port, which is used for the internet. Then I just unhook the internet ethernet cord and hook the PC and Xbawks up, and "stream" the data, right? See what pisses me off is that for Halo 2, they put the extra maps on a disk you could buy at the store. No XBOX LIVE required. Why can't they do the same for the Halo 3 maps?
