I don't understand why Blu-Ray is needed at this point. If a game is too big for one disc, put it on a second, no?

:o Isn't it annoying?

:| Is what annoying?

:o Having to switch discs in Blue Dragon after the first 15 hours of play? Don't you wish you had Blu-Ray??!

:| You mean do I wish I spent an extra $200 so I could be saved the trouble of using a different disc when I reach a new part in the story? No.

Either way, I think we can all agree that Nintendo needs to make a Pokemon Snap 2 for the Wii.

[QUOTE="Meu2k7"][QUOTE="Warlock89"]Haha, yeah right. Xbox Live should be up there on the list for crying out loud. We aren't talking about the first, we are talking about the best. Gears of War made Microsoft 1 million Xbox360 sales. It won numerous awards. Has a 9.6 here on Gamespot. But yeah, you guys are right, it got all that becuase no other game was out at the time....wowWarlock89

It didnt have much to compete with .... it sold those consoles based on its graphical/****not its ZOMG amazing gameplay ... which doesnt exist.

Lol. Okay this isn't even a debate anymore. This is sad. Your saying Gears of War is where it's at because of it's graphics? Wow. It's just impossible to have a good game these days huh? Gears of War wasn't rated in comparison to games out at it's time. You have no idea what your talking about. Gears of War has amazing graphics and amazing gameplay. Though your too hardheaded to convince here in System Wars, with your PC Crysis ways. Bye.

Amazing .. no ... great yes? Did it do anything for Multiplayer NO! everybody complains about it.

You want to go on about sigs? You shame us with a UT3 sig claiming Gears has amazing online .. and daym did you have to take it so seriously? :I

Gears of War has great gameplay, single and multiplayer. The problem is that Epic has the skill of a doped out crackwhore monkey, thinking a Sniper Rifle (that can down you in one hit) should be able to kill you with 2 melee hits. Did I mention the first hit stuns you long enough for a second hit to get in?

When people aren't glitching and whoring weapons (and when you join a game with good connection, which it displays before you join the game), Gears of War has a great team-based online experience. It's slow paced so it's more strategy oriented.

Halo popularised LAN? Are you serious?

The game that popularised LAN gaming was DOOM. A game that came out 8 years before Halo.

I've been playing games since '92, and I didn't once hear of the term "LAN" (outside the realm of hooking up two computers to play Age of Empires against friends) until Halo. In fact, it was the first experience I had with multiple systems playing against one another.

Blu Ray, Wifi, and some other stuff I suppose -- The PS3 has the most built in features. Everything except for a decent line up of games =P

PSM doesn't gloss things over, they normally tell it like it is. Thing is, if they give a good review most lems will dismiss it because it came from PSM. All of a sudden only the bad reviews count. I'm buying both games by the way.ragrdoll21

In general, anything that seems to have bias in one direction will be taken with a grain of salt. If they go against their bias, it's given extra attention as it has to be so wrong that it not only goes against standards but their bias as well. In other words: If PSM is biased and they give Heavenly Sword a 10, most will take it with a grain of salt. If they give it a 5, it goes against the Playstation bias, so it has to be really bad in the viewers eyes.

The only PS3 recent exclusive review that has been complete rubbish (that I read) was Next Gen Ireland or whatever they were called. They were able to say a game deserved near perfect graphics, gameplay, sound, presentation, etc in a 4 paragraph review. It was like they ignored all other standards just to make their review stand out.

[QUOTE="briguyb13"]I should be getting my 360 sometime next month and if I do it will be the first game I buy for it. I have never cared anything about 1 up and never will.BioShockOwnz

Same here. I personally thought the demo was pretty good and definitely better than some individuals are saying.

I agree, the demo wasn't great but it was decent. Not my cup of tea, but I found it more entertaining than FFX (though I doubt the story would be half as enticing).

I have a 360 and the fact that MS charges for XBL is complete garbage. I currently have a free Silver membership. I enjoy all the XBL features the paying gold members do except for online play. Since all 360 games use p2p for multiplayer, gold members are effectively paying MS $50 a year to use thier own internet connection. Can you imagine how pissed people would be if this crap was tried by some other industry? What if Toyota started charging people to transfer gas from the tank to the engine. Consumer: But it's my gas, I already paid for it. Toyota: Yes, but you didn't pay to use it with our product. Stop defending MS. Despite the fact that I love my 360, they are nothing but money grubbing vultures and XBL gold charges prove it.myke2010

QFT.

I don't mind the fee so much, but it is complete garbage that we have to pay in the first place. Just because I favor XBOX Live over PSN (even with the $50 yearly fee) does not mean it's justified in the slightest. If Microsoft wants to charge they need to do free benefits for Gold Members or something, but they won't; nobody cared about it so much to flat out cancel their subscription, and there is no real public outcry.

Microsoft making like 400% profit on every controller they sell pisses me off more, though.

6 hours is too short.. but it's the same exact time as Gears of War and Gears was still a good game.Don't give me that "but gears has online" because the online was AVERAGE at best. Heavenly Sword has a ton of replay value to me though.D3monchicken

Gears took me 8 hours, and I didn't take my time (nor rush). I then played it again with a friend, and then again on the next difficulty, and again on the next. I also enjoyed the online a good bit until I got sick of the lack-of-balance in the weapons.

And I wasn't even going for the achievements like some people.

Hardcore and softcore/casual is a term thrown around so loosely, it starting to resemble a 40 year old hooker.

Hardcore players play games as their main source of entertainment (AKA, their biggest source of entertainment is video games, taking up most (if not all) of their free time)/get payed to play games. The only field where hardcore and softcore have a broader meaning is in an MMORPG, as casuals generally just cannot keep up with the hardcore (who will be raiding, have the best items, and have a /played time longer than the run time on every season of South Park combined).

MMORPGs can be argued as hardcore games, as to truly excell and get everything out of them you need to be hardcore, but otherwise, no. Nintendo markets Metroid Prime, Brawl, etc as hardcore games and Wii Play as softcore. This is not true: Wii Play is accessable from people of a bigger demograph, but not necessarily people who play video games X amount.

It's all stupid marketing BS.
