Is this normal?

My Xbox is a launch version and I recently moved and my Xbox is in a smaller room now, so I started noticing an excessive noise from the fans (probably on par with the total noise from my dishwasher in the kitchen).

Is this normal? Is there anyway to make them quieter? I'm way off warranty so I don't mind opening it up.

Ahh, I didn't realize Sony and Nintendo didn't go yet.

Why get Microsoft first go? Doesn't really seem fair.

Hey all, I don' t mean to beat a dead horse, but I wanted some opinions from those who follow upcoming games more closely than me.

I just got the PS3 80 GB Metal Gear Solid 4 Bundle from Circuit City two days ago, and haven't opened it up yet (Have been waiting for my HDMI cable from monoprice to come in).

One of my primary reasons for getting a PS3 was for the glorious amounts of RPG's that Sony had lined up for the PS2 as opposed to the XBox's line up of nothing but Sports/FPS.

I just saw where FFXIII was announced for XBox360 and I did a quick search for other RPG's on the PS3 and I couldn't find any currently released RPGs that aren't already on the XBox.... Are there more on the way?

Metal Gear Solid 4 looks amazing, but by itself I'm not sure warrants the $500 I paid. Is there a more fleshed out exclusive line-up in the future? Just looking for insight from some current owners who know about the games coming out.

It won't:

Two weeks from release and it's still bugged with crashes every 10-15 minutes.

Unless the pull off a miracle the game will be dead a month after launch.

I've been (trying) playing the Age of Conan Beta, runs okay, but it crashes every 10-15 minutes or so.

Got to 70 and got geared on WoW and now there is nothing to do except raid and PvP...

WoW PvP is more boring than watching paint dry, so looking for a replacement when I'm not raiding, to keep me busy over the summer.

Anyone have good experiences with any of the other MMO's out there?

On average, around every 3-4 Hours of play, I will get a "The disc is unreadable" Error from my XBox 360 console.

I have the console in the horizontal position.

It seems like it has nothing to do with heat or long use, as sometimes it happens 10 minutes into a play session other times it will go an extended session without seeing it once.

It happens with *ALL* Xbox 360 games I've played. However, it doesn't occur when playing regular XBox games on the console.

After losing 90-120 minutes of play time several times, I've found myself paranoid, saving every couple of minutes now so I don't have any more of those occurences, and it's interfering with play satisfaction. I'm more worried about losing progress than the actual game itself.

Do any of you guys know what may be the issue, and if there's any way to fix it? Or can point me to an article to help? Or is it just broken, you think.

Have held off buying a PS3 because of the steep price, but with all the new articles coming out about the discontinuing of backwards compatibility models (60 GB a while back and now Best Buy is pulling 80 GB models), I have figured I better do it now or won't be able to later (I don't have a PS2).

Is it even possible to buy a 60 GB from a retailer anymore, or has anyone had any luck seeing some recently?
