Since Call of Duty 4 requires a microphone to play on Vista, you might be aware that I had to buy a mic to play CoD4 Multiplayer.
Anywho, I'm trying to use it to talk via Voice Chat on XFire, but for some reason I can't configure the mic to "register" my voice. Might make a forum topic soon to help me.
But if if anybody knows how I can enable & make my mic more "sensitive", please PM me.

Edit: Fixed the problem. Microphone is working smoothly.
News seems to be increasing on Fable II coming on the PC, though nothing short of rumours are spreading. Lionhead is yet to confirm, & are slow to drop hints. Apparently there's hype going around that it will be released sometime in February (starting tomorrow).
I myself cannot resist the temptation of Fable II coming for PC even if all I have is rumours & gossip. I've fallen in love with the game, & still am even after my cruddy XBox360 was plagued by the Red Ring of Death.
Here's hoping,

Wrote a review on Call of Duty 4 to express how satisfied I was with it. I know it's a bit late, but this game can never get enough attention. :D
Take a look. I spent around roughly 1 - 2 hours writing it.

This is a common fact about the internet (particularly gamers); that the internet is not a very friendly place. However it has come to my attention that over the years that I have spent using the internet that people are becoming increasingly rude. It is almost impossible for me to go on to Far Cry 2 or CoD4 server without hearing someone cussing out others for no reason at all.
The internet is a rapidly growing place, so that is a factor that contributes to the ever growing amount of rude people on it. However, you would think that as the rude playerbase is multiplying & adding, you will find that the more friendly people are becoming increasingly rare. A perfect example of this is an event that occured 2 years ago when I first purchased Halo PC. I was trying to get the feel for the mouse & keyboard, & I was killed alot. If it was an exceptionally good shot, then I would message "nice shot" on to the public to chat to inform the other player of his good shot, in return he would say "thanks =)". But nowadays, you can't even say "Hi" upon entering a server without some 10 year old making a joke about your mum.
It seems to me that people on the net are constantly on the lookout for a fight, & are always at each others throats. It's a continuous loop, with people trying to impress impress the very same people they insult. Nowadays I find it better not to say anything at all, rather than getting into a verbal fight with some selfish person who doesn't understand why his "haedsh0t" didn't register.
But hear my plea, instead of making the internet a hostile place; try to maintain a friendly attitude, instead of venting out your frustration out on other people. In the end it will benefit you & others greatly, instead of getting you into an even more bitter mood.

I finally got the CoD4 Multiplayer to run on Vista. I've tried pissibly every major solution on the web, & the microphone-related one was the only one that worked.
For those who are having problems with CoD4 MP & are using a Dell XPS 420, the microphone jack IS NOT indicated by a pink ring. It's located at the front of the computer, & is indicated by a tiny microphone symbol.
Time to kick some butt :D

Hi all, I'm Ash, & as you might have already noticed; I'm new to the Gamespot community.
I highly doubt anyone is going to come across my blog, (in fact, it seems like I'm talking to a brick wall..) but if you are, it would be nice to leave a comment.
I've been playing on consoles since I was 6, but I have recently been introduced to PC gaming after my XBox360 got the Red Ring of Death (darn Microsoft & their shoddy manafacturing.. I still love Windows though:) ).
Just for you to get to know a bit about me, I like to play any decent FPS (excluding CounterStrike; it's a good game, it's just not for me) & I really enjoy a good RPG. My favourite games would have to be Call of Duty 4 (excellent campaign & multiplayer), Halo Series (yes. I am, in fact, one of the many little geeks who enjoys playing as the Master Chief), Fable Series (choices pl0x.) & the Crysis Series (MAXIMUM Awesome).
Music-wise, I enjoy listening to Rock & a little bit of Hip Hop. My favourite musicians are Linkin Park, Fort Minor, Gym Class Heros, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, The Gorillas & various others.
In my spare time I'm either watching TV or playing video games, but I occasionally practice some graffiti & work on some art.
That's just a few facts about me; hopefully I can rely on Gamespot to fix all my gaming troubles!
