Over the weekend Geoff Johns revealed the cover for Aquaman 7:

This begins the "Other League" arc which will reveal some nice tidbits of the origin behind Aquaman's trident and it's ties to these other weapons. They're being hunted down by an unknown assailant, which looks like another great mystery Johns is setting up for the readers. Looking forward to seeing a young Arthur Curry take on evil with these other unknown heroes.

With DC throwing out the solicitations today we also got a reveal as to what to expect for Aquaman #9:

Seems like Mera is going to confront Doctor Shin(who was first introduced in The Trench storyline) and one of the "Other League" members gets a name: Ya'wara.

I'm excited for Aquaman but with these new solictations my pull list looks like it's going to have to expand thanks to Batman's "Night of the Owls" cross-over.

Red Hood and Nightwing of course are getting picked up, but what surprised me the most was Red Robin making a guest appearance in The Dark Knight #9. A cheap trick to get me to buy the book, which I'm going to avoid even though Tim Drake is one of my favorite DC characters.

The Teen Titans cross-over with Superboy, Legion, and The Ravagers looks interesting - might get Ravagers & Teen Titans, but I have no interest in Superboy or The Legion. Glad to see Beast Boy is back as well as Terra, two of my favorite Titans - now just hoping for Tempest, Wally, and Raven to make their DCnU debut.

The month of May is looking great, especially with Max Payne 3 coming out too.

Resident Evil 6 has been given a release date: November 20th, 2012.

And a new TRAILER.

As a huge Resident Evil fan - I'm excited beyond belief. But, I felt this way before and was duped - with Resident Evil 5. I don't care if you believe me or not but I used to watch the Resident Evil 5 trailers EVERYDAY. Not joking. Anytime I turned on my 360 - I'd run the trailer before starting any game. Before going to bed, turn the trailer on. Coming back from work - put the trailer on. You can say I overhyped myself for the game.

The reasoning behind all of that was because RE5 was the first next-gen RE and the graphics were astonishing. The beauty of the game trailers blinded me to care about what was important - the gameplay. When I finally got my hands on the game through my friend - I was sorely disappointed. I beat it and never looked back. All that excitement and hype for nothing.

Which now leaves us with Resident Evil 6. The game is starring Leon and Chris.

There's something about that decision that doesn't sit right with me.

First things first, Leon makes sense - he's been in all the EVEN numbered Resident Evil's TWO, FOUR, and now SIX. Chris on the otherhand he was in the original, Code Veronica, FIVE, and going to be starring in Revelations. I feel that because Chris is already in a RE title this year they could've put in Claire instead. Capcom seems to losing sight of what made the original series so great. I know Sheva was a bad protagonist, but it wasn't because of her character - it was because of the FORCED co-op. She would've been a great and interesting character if I didn't have to operate with her during the game.

I've read that Ada Wong is going to make an appearance(where there's Leon she's not too far behind), so that's interesting but I would've loved to see Claire, Rebecca, or Jill as playable characters within the main story.

Nitpicking aside, the game looks incredible even with all the Gears of War influence. If you don't know what I'm talking about - watch the trailer again because there's no way you could've missed it. Alot of over the top action seems to be the quota for the series after 4, just hoping there's some horror moments throughout the story, because that's why I play these games.

I constantly see someone bringing up Metal Gear Solid 4 when it comes to SW, as it got a perfect 10 and is a PS3 console exclusive. I am a Metal Gear fan and played the series since Metal Gear 2 for the NES, but never felt that the game was above an 8.0

I'll get alot of hate for that but that's the thing about scores/reviews - they're opinions. The general consensus is that it's a 10, but my personal score is an 8.0 at best. My reasoning behind it is that the game wasn't fun. The story was wrapped up nicely and the production values were off the charts, but I didn't get the same satisfaction I got while playing MGS3 or MGS1.

What I'm getting at is that there are different genres/types of games out there and are reviewed differently. Because I give King of Fighters a 9.0 doesn't mean it's better than Metal Gear Solid 4; how can it be? They are two different games. It just means in the umbrella that it's under KOF13 is a great fighting experience whereas MGS4 in the action/adventure department is very good but not excellent.

Games with Perfect 10s should be something that stands out within it's genre and give you something to come back and play again - Perfection, In Your Eyes.

Gears of War 3 is getting some free DLC tomorrow called the "Versus Booster Map Pack"

I still haven't picked up the season pass since I'm poor and going to use that money to buy King of Fighters XIII, but I'll eventually get it. Glad I'll have access to new content on Gears 3 without having to spend a penny. :)

Been replaying Grand Theft Auto: Ballad of Gay Tony since everything on my HDD was deleted. I was going to replay GTA IV eventually - so now that the GTA V trailer is out I'm going to try and run through BoGT & Lost and Damned quickly.

Geoff Johns is writting Shazam!

It's a great time to be a Shazam fan because it was just announced at Comic Con that he's going to be a back-up in the Justice League book. Meaning when you buy your comic of Justice League it will be 22 pages of Justice League then 10 pages of Shazam.

Normal american comic stories are 22 pages (the book ships with 32, but ten pages are dedicated to ads); So this is a nice bonus for those of us who were already getting Justice League and great deal for the Shazam fans (who've been waiting just as long as us Aquaman fans for our favorite character to get his own book).

P.S. - The most recent Young Justice episode is a MUST WATCH episode. If you're a fan of comics, Justice League, or superheroes in general than this episode is PERFECT. IF you were never into Young Justice this episode will make you a believer and go back to watch the first 13 episodes. Great Series and here's the link to:

What an amazing chapter.

For those that haven't read it yet: here.

The chapter to shut everyone the hell up, great from start to finish.

The best parts again were the character interactions between the alliance and Naruto on the battlefield. It's first time they've been together in combat since the retrieval arc. The cliffhanger(which I don't know why anyone would say: "WTF" for) wasn't much a surprise but it did indeed get me hype.

Chapter was so good it had the Seven Swordsman battle to shut up those naysayers, they know who they are.

I give it a 10/10.

Lots of action, drama, suspense, and my favorite: character.

Speculation for next chapter - With the reveal it throws off my previous prediction that we'd see the Jinnchuriki battle. Most likely that fight will be next, but only after we see the new summon talk awhile. Flashback galore coming soon - especially for you know who.

Aquaman #1 has finally been released as of yesterday; YES!!!

I'm not going to get into Aquaman too much here, but it was a great first issue. I wrote up a blog on it on thegreenlanterncorps; so I'll just link it: HERE.

On to what I'm on this site for: games.

Gears of War 3 has been taking up most of my time this past week(reached level 50 within a week). Love the online and been having a blast with horde mode. I haven't played much of Beast mode but it's a nice addition - just wish that it was 15 or 20 waves. Story mode is untouched but I've seen my friend end the game; spoilers don't affect me. I'll tackle that mode down the line, but I'm more bent on improving my online skills since I pay for Xbox Live strictly for online gaming and wish to be at least somewhat decent in Gears 3. Capture the Leader is like my go-to game but I'm trying to get into Warzone/Execution since they are the old modes(from Gears 1/2) that everyone is ignoring for KOTH & Team Deathmatch.

The game is a much needed improvement over Gears 2, which I played from day one to the release of Gears 3. I bought all the DLC for part two, so I'm already on board for Gears 3's download content; going to get the Season Pass once I get some microsoft points added. I like the addition of the gun skins and I'll probably pick two up, just because.

• Xbox Live: Aquaman Rebirth

Going to be revolving between Gears 3 and Red Dead Redemption for the next month until King of Fighters XIII is released in November. Yes that's right, you heard me... King of Fighters XIII was delayed to November - meaning it's not only going up against Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 but Skyrim and all the other blockbuster holiday games. SNK has never been a big franchise company and that's just bad timing; hopefully word of mouth and good reviews help the game sell big - I really love King of Fighters.

• Gears of War III

Been playing alot of Gears 2 lately with my cousin; I want to get the last four achievements before part III comes out. I'm so ready to go online and try out the online; the BETA was such a tease.

• Arkham City

Last but not least the big daddy of them all: Batman. The guy who got me into comics(which ultimately brought me to Aquaman). I loved Arkham Asylum and looking forward to fighting Grundy and Scarecrow and whoop ass as Robin.

COMICS/MANGA:

• Naruto Shippuden

The last chapter was two weeks ago, there was a holiday in Japan so no new manga this week. The cliffhanger for Naruto Manga 550 was cut so quickly once the action started to pump up.
