I've fought my way through dozens of gaming sites trying to figure out which PC games are worth spending my money on, with little luck. I'm left rather.. unsatisfied, finding only one or two critic reviews (if any) and overall scoring for each game. Here's my question: what would you say the best way to figure out a game you'll like is? I don't want to end up spending between 20 - 70 dollars on a game I may or may not even enjoy (making this mistake before has taught me my lesson). Game creators don't seem to be releasing demos of their games anymore, which was my previous tactic. Now, if you consider youself a gaming guru, perhaps I could use your help directly. Genres I enjoy are Adventure/Action (Beyond Good and Evil, Kings Quest MoE), Puzzle/Mystery (Myst, Beyond Atlantis), RPG (Jade Empire, Starwars KoToR, Fable, Overlord, Drakan, and Persona series, though not on PC, comes to mind), and STORY INTENSE Shooters (think Mass Effect, Half Life). These are only a few of the games I have enjoyed over the years, but they are the ones that spring immediately to mind, as they are personal favorites. Genres I do NOT enjoy, as a general rule, are: Tactics RPG/Battlefield Strategy, Racing, general hack-n-slash RPG (Diablo), and most Shooter games. If any of you could even VAGUELY point me in the right direction, I would be most indebted to you. :) -- Games I have been Recommended, so I can easily keep track: The Longest Journey Neverwinter Nights 2 Vampire Masquerade F.E.A.R 1 / 2 No One Lives Forever 1 / 2 Psychonauts Half Life 2 Tomb Raider series Hitman
