I recently purchased a LG BD550 blu-ray player. It's great and all but I have one problem. Whenever I play blu-ray movies, I can't seem to figure out how to fill the entire screen. I have a 1080p tv. In the settings menu for the blu-ray, I set the aspect ratio to 16:9 and resolution 1080p. And yes, I'm using a HDMI connection.

The only way I can fill the entire screen with the picture is manually zooming in. It works, but I have to do this every single time when I'm playing a movie. So far, I tried the Dark Knight and Transfomers. Is this normal? Do I have to keep manually zooming in to fill the screen or am I missing something? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Well, I don't know about yours, mine barely makes a noise compared to the old 360 I had. You shouldn't worry though, since you have the Jasper now, RROD is pretty much behind you now.

Yes, it's a Jasper. It's much quieter and cooler.

I have the Logitech x-540 speaker system and was looking to extend the front speaker wire since there so damn short. Would these work?

The issue is that the connections to the sub woofer on a X-540 aren't 3.5mm but RCA connections, so you will need that type of adapter.

*facepalms* I should have known they'ld be mono RCAs..... No point getting good quality cables for such speakers so this should do it: http://www.amazon.com/RCA-Extension-Cord-10-ft/dp/B0002ZPJZY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1253908108&sr=8-1

So, I need those? I'm a complete noob to these things and had no idea exactly what I needed. I forgot to mention I'm using this with the 360 that's connected through HDMI but I guess that doesn't matter. Thanks for the help.

I would get the 23" personally. It would definitely last you longer. It's got HDMI for other things, like tv or consoles. Plus it's 1080p, and bluray drives are getting cheaper and cheaper.-GeordiLaForge-
True, the 23" has a lot of features as opposed to the 22". I don't plan on getting it right away, I just wanted to see what my options were. Inevitably, I'll have to upgrade my gpu at some point as well so your right, getting the 23" is better for the long run.

I'm looking to upgrade my monitor to either

thishttp://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824005109

or

this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824005125

Obviously, I would go for the 23" but the problem is my gpu is a 4770. I know it'll struggle with most games on 1080p. Should I stick to the sweet spot where my gpu will handle most games easily or sacrifice performance for better view quality?

Oooo... that sucks. I feel your pain. Before I got my apartment I lived in dorm rooms last year that had some offices in the first floor as well. Shippers would frequently ship things to the Residential Life offices instead of the Residential Life mailboxes. I'd have to hunt it down, and the people is the reslife office were completely unhelpful and refused to give my package to me. They waited until the Fedex guy came back the next week, then gave it to him and had him deliver it to the room next door. I was so antsy to get my shiny new computer parts and they were such idiots. (I may or may not have stolen the sign off their door as revenge... :D )

Lol, I hear ya. Still no update as to what happened with my package. I'll give them a call again tomorrow. I'm going to use UPS from now on. Sure there careless with packages, toss it around like it's nothing but I never had any problems with them and all my parts worked regardless the beating the box took.

[QUOTE="neatfeatguy"]First and foremost, make sure that your order form or invoice has YOUR correct shipping information. After that.... Be sure to contact zipzoomfly with your situation - include in your email a copy of your order and/or invoice, tracking information they provided you and any other important info that might be needed. Next, you want to know what they are going to do to resolve the situation - ask for a discount (something like 10% should be good) for the inconvenience or at the very least ask to have your shipping charges credited back to you. If by chance your shipping was free then maybe ask for some kind of store credit/coupon you can use - I'd say that maybe $20 or so would be good. You don't want to come off sounding like a complete jerk, but at the same time you want something in return for your troubles. Aim your sights kind of high, but not out of the park on compensation and then see if you can come to some sort of agreement on the matter. That's what I would do. If they don't want to play ball with you, then refuse the order and contact your credit card company right away and dispute the charges and tell them not to pay and explain your side of the story.

Thanks for the advice. I will consider doing that but I may give it till Friday/Saturday to take action. You think that's a good idea? Fedex said it might take a couple of days before they return the stuff to me. I mean if everything is fine and the psu is working, than I'll just drop this obviously.
