It's been more than a month since I last updated this journal, I didn't really see the point in bothering with it, since I didn't really have any great game related excitement or deception to get Write or moan about here.

I've been mostly playing FF VI and checking out some demos since I came back from my booooooooooooring 10 day trip (well, 10 days... rather felt like 10 weeks!)

Anyways, here's the reason why I'm posting this entry : I read on the GS boards that Square-Enix is producing a FF VII OAV called Last Order. My only reaction was : wtf?! :shock:

First of all, they've already produced a FF related anime, FF U that SUCKED. I didn't actually understand why it was called Final Fantasy Unlimited until I saw a Chocobo, the only FF-ish element in it...

Secondly, what's going on in their minds? Don't they think that they've been milking that game quite enough? I can't believe they're taking it THAT far! Check this out, SE has spent more time and money on tons of stupid FF VII related games, such as FF VII Snowboarding than on real FF games. Every single FF VII character will soon have their own game, movie or anime! You know how Mario has all these "Super Mario Lost His Overalls", "Super Mario Bros Doing Some Shopping", "Super Mario In the Restroom" thing? Well Square is pushing the whole FF VII related merch thing THAT far. Soon we'll get titles such as "Cloud & Barret In Bed", "Aerith & Zack Playing Checker While Waiting For the Rest of the PArty To Join Them" or "Tifa's Seventh Heaven Cocktails", where you help Tifa to make different cocktails. lmao

I can't wait for Advent Children and I'm sure that it'll be awesome, some of these games such as Crisis Core and DoC seem quite good too, but the mobile games and the anime?! Come on! Give me a break! :roll:

Since FF XII isn't gonna come out before 2006 (damn you Square!! :cry: ), I'm playing some old FF titles again, starting with FF VI on the SNES, and it's great fun. I wish they would remake it on the PS3, how GREAT would that be? Killer FF XII-ish graphx, remixed nusic and VA! All that combined with the flawless stroyline, characters, bosses... that game has, would make it absolutely PERFECT! Especially a couple of very sad scenes like when Cyan's wife and kid die and take the phatom train... would be a lot more tragic and realistic.

It's like Aerith's death in FF VII, when the game was released, that scene looked amazing, now, it just looks cheap and outdated. They need to remake this game too. As a matter of fact, I wish they'd remake all the FF titles 'till FF VIII, which isn't too outdated yet, IMHO.

I gotta pay tribute to my second favorite site on earth here (the first being GameSpot of course, lol) : GameFaqs! This site is my bestfriend lately, lol. It just has an answer to every single question I have when I get stuck in a game. It's prevented me from going totally nuts and banging my head against the wall so many times! lol

I've been non-stop amazed since the beginning of E3 : next-gen consoles look unbelievable (well especially the PS3, hah), if I could afford it, I'd get all of them. Unfortunaely I can't, so I'll just get the PS3 at launch and maybe the 360 a bit later. The only thing that bugs me about the PS3 is the controller. It really looks weird and so not comfy! Sony better do something about it.

I've been watching the vids and the new Final Fantasy material look absolutely FANTASTIC! The FF VII technical demo is unbelievable, I so wish they Square would redo that game. But sadly I don't think that's gonna happen. FF XII and Advent Children both look breathtaking and I only wish they would release FF XII on the PS3, as a launch title. I so can't wait 'till September to FINALLY see AC!! I'm getting the DVD, UMD, whatever comes out first the instance it comes out!

The other stuff announced at E3 that look great, and that I can't wait for are Devil May Cry 4, Prince of Persia 3, Metal Gear Solid 4 (the vid literally cracked me up, lol), Tekken 6 (the screen shots on GS look breathtaking, I kept looking at Jin for like half an hour, checking out all the details: priceless!), the new GTA... all that on the PS3. And Dead Or Alive 4 (the screenshots look great!)

I so can't wait for 2006!!! It's gonna be a GREAT year for all the gamers out there, especially for me, haha! :D

Ok, back to 2005 for a couple of months and this gen... I'm still playing Star Ocean 3, and the more I progress in that game, the more I like it! I like the fact that you get to go from a futuristic world to the Middle Ages... It's a cool time travel. Kinda reminds me of Chrono Trigger too, one of my top 3 all time favorite games. I remember a while ago they said they were gonna do a remake of it, whatever happened to that.
