Battlefield 3

Tuesday, Apr. 5/2011:

Hey guys, sorry for not posting in awhile, I've been busy with school lately. xD; Anyway, I just pre-ordered Battlefield 3 yesterday at EB Games. Have you seen the trailers yet? Well, I can tell you this for sure, it looks REALISTIC. More realistic than any FPS game out right now. The graphics are smooth and fluent! And the tactics of the game looks legit. It doesn't even look like you can run around with akimbo Sub-machine guns and run into a bunch of the enemy and hope to kill them all. Nope, it doesn't look that way. Anyways, it's expected to release sometime in November of this year, so keep a look out for it!!

3DS Release and Some Other Thoughts

Sunday, Mar. 27/2011:

Well, the 3DS was just released today, and it looks really good! Although, I think it may be best to wait it out until more games come out. At the moment, there are very few games that interest me. It's really too bad that Nintendo put a region code on the hand-held system though...I was really looking forward to getting Japanese games and playing them on the 3DS...I think they are trying to make more money out of their consumers by doing so, and I can see why.

Other than that, the 3DS has some new features that look very neat! I can't give you any details at the moment, because I don't know much else...Even though it was just released today. xD; The retail price of $250 for the 3DS is a little expensive, so I'm not sure if it's worth it to buy it right away (Even though it seems a lot of people are doing so anyways because the 3D use can even be used for games without 3D.)

Comparison of Three Recent Games Releases by NIS America

Sunday, Mar. 20/2011:

After a first impression of the three recent games released by NIS America, I've decided to do a review based on my opinion of these games just because I find it necessary to do so. :P

Atelier Rorona: The Alchemist of Arland:

A very cutesy kind of game, it kind of lacks in an interesting plot line. The art is pretty good, and it's very laid back, but the game doesn't have give you an urge to try and place it.

Hyperdimension Neptunia:

A very fan-service kind of game for a big otaku, this game has characters that any otaku can have a preference for whether it's big or small breasts, a loud or clumsy attitude, and...Did I say breasts already? Oh, I did? Well, did I mention bouncing breasts?! xD

Ar Tonelico Qoga: Knell of Ar Ciel:

This game shocked me actually. It's surprising quite good after a couple of letdowns. The storyline of this game sounds like it has depth. The characters aren't too stereotypical unlike Hyperdimension Neptunia, and the battles are very unique because you can run around the battlefield, and try to dodge attacks. What I don't really like about the game is the the character looks floaty and the environment looks too...Still. Other than that, the game is pretty good!

Out of the three games, I'd have to say that Ar Tonelico Qoga takes it in the bag.

Games Bonanza Week

Tuesday, Mar. 15/2011:

Wow, this week is full of games! I'm going to pick up Yakuza 4 and Ar Tonelico Qoga today, and I just looked at GameSpot's preview of Dissidia 012: Duodecim Final Fantasy. Sheesh! Well, it's a good thing that I've got a lot of time for games this week. 8D

I pre-ordered Ar Tonelico Qoga from EB Games yesterday, so hopefully they'll be getting in the limited edition! I looked at the trailer for the game, and it looks pretty good! It's made by NIS America, so I just hope it's much better than Atelier Rorona and Hyperdimension Neptunia because those games kind of disappointed me...

Yakuza 4 continues on from the storyline of Yakuza 3, and that looks very good! The graphics haven't improved but it's not like it needed to from Yakuza 3 anyways. The new things that I suspect will be in the Yakuza 4 is the hostess clubs, new songs to choose from karaoke, and some other things.

Dissidia 012: Duodecim Final Fantasy looks wonderful! It looks like the graphics improved a lot, and the cut-scenes look gorgeous as usual. What I am stoke for most is that there are a lot of new characters from the Final Fantasy series including the sexy female characters! (I'm excited for Tifa most lol)

Gaming, and More Gaming

Friday, Mar. 11/2011:

I've been playing Hyperdimension Neptunia recently, and I have to say...This game is quite decent. The only problems I have is that the storyline so far lacks depth, and the gameplay isn't that good. Scrolling through almost pointless conversations, I felt sleepy...I'm kind of disappointed in it so far, but I hope it will prove me wrong. What I do like about it is the bouncing breasts LOL. There's plent of fan-service in this game, so I'm happy about that! xDD And it's a good thing I changed it to Japanese voice-overs, because the English voice-overs SUCK! D8 I mean, it's so terrible! Oh, an another complaint...The background music is boring, and bland...

Anyways, to get off this rant, I've also been playing Pokemon Black, and I've clocked in about 11 hours so far. New Pokemon, new world to explore, and a new storyline. The new Pokemon look unoriginal though...They aren't that creative...Actually, I could've thought of better Pokemon to make lol... ^^; Other than that, Pokemon Black is pretty good!

Sorry if you have been reading this rant and got tired of it, I just wanted to get my feelings out there lol. xD;

Starting An Adventure!!

Monday, Mar. 7/2011:

It all started yesterday...I got up at 2:00 in the afternoon, and thought to myself,

"Oh shoot!! I'm so late, I hope there are still some left!!"

I ran into the washroom, ignoring my parents' yelling from upstairs to do something totally irrelevant to this story (lol). I washed my face, brushed my teeth, shaved and all that jazz, and changed clothes and grabbed a quick lunch. As soon as my parents left the house to go shopping, I left soon after. I drove to my heart's content (but constantly stayed at speed limit), and went to the store.

"Thank goodness, there are still plenty left", I said, relieved.

I couldn't pick between the two, and asked one the the sales persons there what the difference was between the two, and I made my decision soon after. I went to the register and paid for my item, and went back home. I inserted the cartridge into the game system, and so...My Pokemon adventure started!

The title speaks for itself... xD;; I'm just looking forward to the release of Pokemon Black and White version for the DS! :D It's out tomorrow, be sure to get it! I'm excited to see what it's going to be like, since they released the new Pokemon and all. And most of all, which starter Pokemon will I pick? 8D

Roller Hockey Season and More Minecraft

Monday, Feb. 28/2011:

All right!! Roller hockey is starting up again this Wednesday, I'm so stoked!! I've duct taped my goalie pads to make the replica Martin Brodeur pads from the late 1990's.

In other news, I still haven't gotten around to playing video games lately...But I've been playing a lot of Minecraft! My friend has his own server running, and there are a bunch of friends that we know, so we can make a town/city of some sort lol. My brother and I made a castle with walls aroun it, and a ship I made at the side of the castle, and yeah...Just recently a couple more friends joined, so we've got a small colony! xD

Decisions, Decisions...

Thursday, Feb. 24/2011:

I wonder...Should I trade in my DSiXL to EB Games for a $125 value towards a 3DS? I bought my DSiXL for $120 (on a rare sale from Zellers), so I'm getting more than what it's worth lol. But then again...I want to keep my DSiXL, because it's so cool! And I'm really interested in seeing what new features the 3DS will have. It's going to be so hard to decide!! D:

On another note, I bought Hyperdimension Neptunia a few days ago which also happened to be the very last copy of the limited edition too! I'm quite lucky!! xD I got it for $60 as well, what a deal, eh? It comes in a bigger box with an art book of concept art, character models, and some other things! I'm planning to play it today, and see if my wait was worth it.

Studying, Studying, Studying...

Sunday, Feb. 20/2011:

For the next week or so, I'm in full gear for studying and doing homework... Dx If only it could do itself LOL.

On another note, I just started playing Atelier Rorona: The Alchemist of Arland, even though I bought the games months ago. It's a good thing that I put it in Japanese instead of English voice-overs because it sounds dreadful in English... xD;; My impression of the game: Well, it's decent, although there's a strict deadline that just wants me to keep getting stuff for the assignment. And if only travelling doesn't take a day or two just to get into another area.. x.x;;
