My 360 had been gathering dust for a while (never did end up playing it again, so gave it to a friend) and Uncharted had just come out plus I believe the ps3 had gotten a price drop around the time so I bought it. But yeah I pretty much own the thing mostly for exclusives, get all my other gaming via my PC.

If you have a ps3 your ps3 controller will work on any pc now if you download the drivers.
Just watched the full trailer, its looking pretty sweet. As long as I get to outfit my mech with whatever weapons I want(duel ppcs ftw) then I will be happy.
Gameplay wise I'm glad they've dumbed it down, all the managing of heat, throttle and whatnot in the old games reduced the fun-factor for me
Maximum settings, 80 - 90 frames per second, wide screen 22inch monitor, 5.1 surround sound, the game was made for nuts like me lol.
Strangely Warhead runs a little worse despite supposedly being 'optimized'. But eh anything 60 or over is good enough.
I know I shouldn't brag cause it makes me sound like an a$$ but I also have a ps3 and 360, both hooked up to the same 1080p hd-tv.
Its a good time to be a truly hardcore gamer, or in my case an obsessive one. lol
I'd say a short single player story driven game is anything 5 hours or less while a lengthy one is anything 10 hours or more.
This doesn't really apply to all game genres though imo. A short rpg for example could be something as long as 20 hours while a long one could range between 50 and 80.
3rd person character action games or brawlers, whatever you want to call them. They are my favorite genre, I want bayonetta and god of war 3 so bad.
If the genre weren't dead mech combat sims would be my close second, I miss mech warrior :(
From what I've seen of RF:G I am pretty much 100% sold on the game, it seriosuly looks like the funnest 3rd person shooter to release in ages. Finally a game in this genre that does away with excessive story and realism and concentrates entirely on crazy ass fun. Most of that fun is derived from the destructibility, my only fear really is that it will get old a little too fast.
GiantBomb did a preveiw of the game recently , I recommend people watch it.
Assuming your pc can run these I'd recommend Bioshock, Crysis, Fear(the original, Fear 2 sucks) and of course the Half Life 2 games.
Crysis in my honest opinion is the most innovative highly replayable action fps to release in the past 5 years(finished it 8 times myself) while Bioshock and Fear are the best you can get in terms of atmosphere and satisfying gameplay despite being very linear corridor shooters. Half Life 2, Episode 1 and 2 are pretty much the pinacle of not only single play fps's but character driven story in gaming as well. Plus if you buy orange box you get them all real cheap, with Portal and TF2, 2 games that are also the best of their genres.
If you like crysis definitely pick up crysis warhead too, its mostly more of the same but damn is it good.
DoW2 is my second must have pc game next year. My friends and I played the original and its xpacks to death, especially dark crusade which is still my all time favorite rts until dow2 hits in feb and replaces it :)
Pre-purchased my copy on steam last week. Oh man is it good.
