coming back to an old sport

after leaving the game of baseball nearly 5 years ago im finally back into it playin with my friends for the past 2 summers (im hittin about .412 with them and thier throwin from 50-60 mph) im gonna play league baseball this year as a first baseman im goin to hit the battin cages and get better and erase my career .071 avg in baseball (from age 6-8, and age 10) ^ ^. my brother drag is a solid pitcher that an throw from 50-60 mph, he has a good assortment of pitches he can throw also. he's a diamond in the rough. were having our dad's work partner ( he's a league coach 16 ^) and his son with the same name (he's about 17 and he's an allstar pitcher) to teach my brother how to pitch better and give me better hittin tips. wish me luck.

my wishlist for the mets part 2

heres the 2nd part of the wishlist now were talking about

hitters

jd drew
free agent right fielder ( was with dodgers in 06)
age31, years pro 8, bats left throws right
stats in 2006
.283 avg, 20 hr, 100 rbi, .393 obp, 2 sb, .498 slg per

reason: he's a great hitter and a pretty good hitter. he also has some pop and can give u 20 hr's a year he also produces alot of runs and can be counted on to get atleast 100 rbi's. the mets could use him to replace shawn green because he is a far better hitter and produces.

mark loretta
free agent second basemen (was with the redsox in 2006)
age 34, years pro 11, bats/throws right,
stats in 06
.285 avg, 5hr, 59 rbi's, 4 sb, .345 obp, .361 slg per

reason: he's a great contact hitter. has a .299 career batting average so he's very dependable. wut he lacks in rbi's and power he makes up for in briliant defense. the mets need a better 2nd baseman then jose valentin (he's gettin to old). he doesnt have much interest in the mets but maybe the mets can persuade him to come sign with them.

barry bonds
free agent left fielder (was with the giants in 06)
age 42, years pro 20, throws/bats left
stats in 06
.270 avg, 26 hr, 77rbi's, 3 sb, .454 obp, .545 slg per

reason: the future hr king himself!. he may be old and his fielding and batting avg has delcined but he still has his pop with 26 hr's and 77 rbi's bonds would make a perfect pinch hitter for the mets and could take on the role as the cliff floyd..............except he'd be a utility player.

my wishlist for the mets part 1

heres who i hope the mets can get starting with

pitchers
  dan haren
starting pitcher for the oakland athletics
age 26, years pro 3, throws and bats right
stats in 2006
14 wins 13 losses, 4.12 era, 176 strike outs

reason: he's a great young pitcher who the mets could use for the weak starting rotation. he can be a middle man in the rotation a #3 guy. he is also reliable u can count on him to get atleast 15 wins a year

mark mulder
free agent starting pitcher (was with cardinals in 2006)
age 29, years pro 6 throws and bats left
stats in 2006 ( was injured for most of season
6 wins 7 losses ,7.12 era, 50 strikeouts

reason: despite a terrible injury plauged 06, mulder is an awesome pitcher. he has a 103-57 career record. if he stays healthy in 07 mulder can be a force on the mound and perhaps an ace. which the mets really need.

jeff weaver
free agent starting pitcher (was with cardinals in 06)
age 30, years pro 8, throws and bats right
stats in 2006
8 wins 14 losses, 5.76 era, 107 strikeouts

reason: he may be a average to below average pitcher but this man is a horse he'll give u a good 7 + innings which is good cause it rests ur bullpen. he might  be cheap as well and who knows with him in the back of the rotation or in the bullpen as a long reliever he may be good ^ ^

jon garland
starting pitcher for the chicago white sox
age27, years pro 6, throws/bats right
stats in 2006
18 wins, 7 losses, 4.51 era, 112 strikeouts

reason: garland is a talented young pitcher coming of back to back 18 win seasons (05 and 06) he can be a cy young award winner in the future and a ace on any team. mets could really use em and the sox are willin to trade him for the right price hmmmmmmmmmm

javier vaquez
starting pitcher for chicago whitesox
age 30 years pro 8, throws/bats right
stats in 2006
11 wins, 12 losses, 4.84 era, 184 strikeouts

reason: the plan b if the mets cant get garland despite a decent 2006 hes a solid pitcher that strikes out alot of batters and in the national league he can do even better.
