8 GB RAM is more future proof. Of-course for now you don't need that much RAM at all. 6 GB is more than enough.

But maybe in 5 years time when games require more RAM. Then 8 GB RAM will be needed.

Basically for now it's a waste of money. I would only upgrade to 6 if I was you. In 5 years time if you are gonna need more RAM you upgrade then. RAM will be even cheaper than, than it is now.

Ok guys how about this?

Case: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129066

Power Supply: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371015

Graphic Card: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125369

Would that work?

Also I noticed my RAM is DDR3 and the graphics card type is DDR5, does that matter?

Soundwave90

Power Supply and case are good.

While the graphics card is also great. It's not worth the price. You might as well buy the normal overclocked version of gigabyte and then overclock it further to a super overclocked.

They are charging you a bit too much for the super overclocked. Well actually not that bad, since I bought mine for slightly more money.. But then again mine was in British pounds. I heard that in US dollars it is cheaper. But if you can get it for cheaper, the better.

You don't need GTX 580 or GTX 590.

Only Console gamers tend to think you need the highest of PC specs for gaming.

A GTX 560 Ti is enough. I have Gigabyte GTX 560 Ti OC Edition,I play all of my games on max settings including Battlefield Bad Company 2 at DX 11 with 1920x1200 resolution 8x MSAA and get 61 frames per second.

You only need GTX 580 or greater if you plan to play at resolutions higher than 1920x1200. Very few people game at resolutions higher than 1920x1200. And it's unlikely that you even have such monitor as such monitors cost very expensive.

Agreed.

That's a pretty outdated PC. Plus you will be disappointed even with a 50 dollars 8600GT. As it won't give you much of a performace compared to what you already have. Maybe a few frames per second more. Nothing more than that.

A new processor such as a Quad-Core, Core i5 or Core i7 with a GTX 560 Tiat the very least will do you best for gaming.

Well I am aware that there is not much of a difference between 1920x1200 with 1920x1080 resolutions.

But since my TV is a LED TV. I would assume that1920x1080 on a LED TV will give me better picture quality than the same 1920x1080 resolution that's on my LCD 24 inch monitor. Simply because there is quite a big difference in the picture quality that I notice between LCD and LED.

Also another factor is the size. I am more excited by playing it ona large size screen as well as being able to play the games on 3D. Knowing that my Samsung T240 LCD 24 inch monitor cannot do 3D. Only my 55 inch LED TV can.

And I know GTX 560 Ti supports Nvidia 3D Vision, so I thought, this might be worth the try.:D

I agree and I probably wouldn't find it easy to play FPS games. But obviously I'll have to experience it first in order to see if I will find it uncomfortable or not. My whole point was to see what the experience is like and whether it will be enjoyable or not.

I know for games like Just Cause 2, Tomb Raider Underworld, Dirt 3, FIFA 11 all on PC will look awesome! That's why I want to give it a try.

I have Battlefield Bad Company 2. But I probably wouldn't give it a try because I need keyboard and mouse for that. My keyboard and mouse are in my bedroom.

I am planning to connect myPC to the TV that's in myliving room from my PC that'sin thebedroom with a 10 meter HDMI cable. And simply use an Xbox 360 wireless controller to play games such as Just Cause 2, Tomb Raider Underworld, Dirt 3, FIFA 11, NBA 2K11 all on PC. I believe these are one of the fewest games on PC which would work well with gamepad only.

Right thanks for the clarification. I am gonna order a 10 meter HDMI cable then.:D

I actually showed this thread to my friend now. He changed his opinion automatically, nowsaying that I only needed quadfire for resolutions higher than 1920x1080. I was already aware of that. But before that he told me I needed quadfire to run on a 55 inch TV, lol.

Well I was sceptical. I am glad I am now well informed that screen size would have no effect on my performance.:D

Right.

So what if I was to try and play my games. For example FIFA 11 PC I get a steady 60 frames per second on 1920x1200 on my 24 inch monitor using the GTX 560 Ti.

If I was to play it on the 55 inch TV, according to you my frames rate will still remain at a steady 60 frames per second?:D Cos my friend was saying I needed quadfire graphics card, or else my PC was gonna blow up.

That's why I was a bit concerned if this is gonna cause too much overheating/stress on my graphics card, simply cos I am playing my games on a 55 inch screen.

Is it safe? Will it increase my GPU and overall systems temperature to higher thanthat of what I play on with the 24 inch screen monitor. Or will the temperatures remain more or a less the same?

Thanks again.

I have recently bought a Samsung UE55D6100 3D LED TV which is a 55 inch full 1080P HD 3D TV. It has 200 hz refresh rate.

I was thinking to connect my PC to the 55 inch TV to play some games via HDMI cable.

I was wondering whether it would work. Will my single Gigabyte GTX 560 Ti OCbe enough to play it? I also have a Quad Core Q8400 3.0 GHz overclocked. Do you think this is enough, or do I need Sli or quadfire graphics card for that to work? And if that's not a problem. Will it stress too much on the graphics card such as causing it to overheat too much?

Will my frames per second remain just how they were with my current 24 inch Samsung HD monitor. Or will the frames per second decrease playing at a 55 inch screen TV?

I normally play my games at 1920x1200 resolution on the 24 inch monitor, no problem. But I wanted to know if playing at 1920x1080 on a 55 inch screen TV will work smoothly lag-free?

I was also thinking of playing some Nvidia 3D Vision support games, to see what the experience is like of playing these games on 3D..8)

It could be due to too much dust which causes that noise every few minutes. Also check to see if it's not your DVD drive. remove the DVD ROM from it and see if you hear the vibration noise again.
