Ok, I just bought an HDTV. It is a 720p tv. But in the manual it says, "This TV accepts 480i/480p/720p/1080i video signals." Does this mean I will be able to see it in 1080i?iaag784
By default it will go to 720p, my TV is like yours and the settings automatically go to 720p.
[QUOTE="BabeBro"][QUOTE="toyoarmy"][QUOTE="BabeBro"]Hey guys, I bought an HDTV today and plugged it in thinking it was ready to go, then I found out I won't see the HD unless I buy an HDMI cable (which I'm buying tommorrow) but I also heard I have to buy an optical cable? Do I have to buy an optical cable or am I good with just the HDMI? Thanks in advance. BTW, my HDTV supports 720p & 1080itoyoarmy
1. If your TV had HDMI port, you don't need optical cable.(you use TV's sound)
2. If you got plan to use other sound system ( not use TV's) then you can use Optical cable for digital audio.(5.1 dolby ect...)
(if you don't mind 2channel stereo out, you can use av-multi-out cable(white/red) which is included in PS3) for audio.
Thanks man, so basically, I only need the optical cable if I want to have another device for sound?
I buy the HDMI and use the AV for audio and I'm good to go?
Yes ( if you use TV's sound system and TV got HDMI port, then you don't even need AV cable : HDMI includes digital audio)
Swwwweet! :)
Thanks a lot man. I'll be hitting RadioShack 2morrow and I'll try
to post pics of how it looks. I'm real excited :D
