The real question is how many feet are you really going to be away from the screen?

LINKloco

Probably 4-5 feet from the screen.

Then you will notice a difference, but is it worth the money? That's your call

Plasmas can still have burn-in but it is not as rampant as it was a few years back. They are most susceptible during their first 100 hours of use.

PS3 is the prime rib of game consoles. I don't care how much I love hamburgers, but prime rib > hamburgers. The meat speaks for itself.Timstuff

But the only problemwith that great prime rib is that it won't output my brother's games in 1080i. That is bogus, but at least the Blu-ray movies out put in 1080i.

Ummmm.......you do realize that the PS1 came out 10 years ago right???? There was no better format at that time. :|snorlaxmaster

Blu-ray is not always a better format that DVD.

And actually if HD DVD were implented in system it would have some advantages over Blu-ray as well.

Was the CD capable of the most space at the time?

CJL13

Yes. The next disc technology was GD-ROM that the Dreamcast used. It could hold 1.2GB.

[QUOTE="pageiszepplin"]I already got a full-hd hdtv, and a ps3 so im not, btw 300 just came out on blu-ray today, and it looks amazing! Plus you get 5 free blu-ray movies with the purchase of a player right now toopageiszepplin

The video transfer for 300 is identical on HDVD and Blu-ray, so that means that the HDversion is the same as your BD version, but your copy is missing all of the IME features that I'm enjoying with mine.

I don't care about those, I like the movie, but I think we can agree that both formats look amazing.

I concur

I have had the add-on since it came out, and it is amazing. I can understand worrying about the format war and all, but if HD DVD goes under................Your player and your movies still work. Like I still play my Laserdiscs, DVD-A's, and SACD's
