I wholly agree, which is why I suggested they start trailing off by late 2008.

What a ridiculous thread.

Perhaps I should start one: "I bought a carton of Milk today..."

The Wii is a casual magnet.

Working in the media, Ihave afirst-hand glimpseinto Nintendo's marketing machine from launch till present. It was marketed as 'interactive entertainment' because you get to wave a remote control around at the television screen. While this (dare I say) gimmick almost roped me in at launch, it's plain to see that Wii software is going nowhere fast in the future - and that's exactly what is turning me off.

Casual customers are happy to only have a few games complement their system - WiiSports, WiiPlay, Wario Ware and Super Mario Galaxy for example, but how long before "hardcore" gamers (you know, the ones that actually purchase software on a regular basis) get put off by all the shovelware and lack of games that are WORTH playing ?

Wii sales are phenominal indeed, but I don't see them continuing as strongly into next year. Xbox 360 and PS3 will probably start outselling Wii by Q. 4 2008/Q. 1 2009 because there will be no incentive to purchase one. Casual gamers will most likely put their remotes down and be drawn to pretty graphics that other consoles can provide, like moths to the flame.

Hopefully, Nintendo actually does what they said the Wii was (and 'inbetween console') and doesnt support it for more than 4 years before bringing out the 'big guns', but I fear they're far too comfortable with the revenue the Wii/DS is recieving and will result in a lack of motivation.

I'm interested to hear what others have to say, this is by no means an 'anti-Wii' post - remember Blade Runner: "The light that burns twice as bright burns for half as long..."

Kaz isn't clueless at all, he gets paid millions of dollars to expell this kind of methane - the ULTIMATE COW.

Not only is his product on the line, but so is his job and reputation.

I don't think Gears is all "corridors" at all. The games graphics are incredibly detailed and some of the levels are huge - the level where you go into the mines was particulary awe inspiring.

Heavenly sword looks great, but the bloom and gross textures really ruin it. Lair has the mostbuggiest visuals since Sonic The Hedgehog.

Of the next-gen games though, I must say that BioShock"wins" hands down, not only is there amultitude of things going on at once, but the visuals are extremely consistant -onlytwice did I notice any texture pop-in.
